will this work on an induction heat hotplate?

Portable induction cooktops or other portable burners may not be suitable for canning. They may not have enough wattage to pressurize a fully loaded canner and/or they

In order to get 26 half pints in, what extra racks would I need to purchase?

You can order another rack, like the one provided for the bottom of the canner. You may also stack one layer so the jars are not directly on top of each other, but by staggering them. Will this work on a magnetic induction frigidaire glass stove top?

Accepted Answer

Yes, this will work on an induction cooktop, but I would caution to follow the instructions on Page 14 If canning on an electric smooth-top or induction range, refer to instructions for canning in the owner’s manual for your range. Always clean the stovetop with a cooktop polishing cream, according to the range manufacturer’s instructions, before and after canner use. In addition, to avoid scratching the ceramic glass surface of the smooth-top or induction range, check the bottom of the canner to be sure it is clean and free of debris and does not have any nicks or scratches.

What type of gauge does this use, weighted or pressure?

The steam dial gauge is a pressure gauge. The regulator is weighted, 15 PSI.
