Solid unit. Zero issues & worth having handy.
TLDR; Worth the buy. Worked exactly as needed. Good tool to have on hand. "Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it."I had neglected to start up an 06 Infiniti sitting in the heat for a couple of weeks when the battery was already going bad. Don't judge! I bought a new car.So, since I always intended to own a portable jumper for times like this, having no cables & instead of bothering anyone with a jump, I pulled the trigger and bought one of these units. (12V 1500A)Getting to the point. Worth the buy. No problems upon use. I of course had to charge it completely which took somewhere between 4-6 hours.Upon hooking up to the battery ***it did take a minute or two for the car battery to "receive" the charge,*** but once it did, the unit started making a clicking sound, the power LED Indicators on the unit started cycling (which to me suggested the unit was officially feeding the car battery) - went to turn the key in the ignition and voila, car started up without skipping a beat.Remember folks, if a power cell has zero charge, it's not going to instantly come back to life when you hook it up to a jumper or other battery! Give it a couple of minutes at most, but any longer, it would be safe to assume the battery is totally dead especially if the unit is non-responsive when you hook it up.The unit itself is nice and compact. The box packaging is sturdy enough for you to regularly pack it back inside its box - if you're that sort of person, I am - but it does include a surprisingly NICE quality/material storage bag.The Jumper Cables are a tad short, but understandably for the purpose of being compact. I myself had no issues reaching my battery with them, but could pose an issue to those with a hard to reach battery. The dual LED illumination lights definitely supply you with some decent light, and would certainly be visible at night on the road or get you around your house in a power outage, but I would not recommend it be used as a primary light source. It also includes a USB port for you to connect a charger for your devices.I understand others have later reported that their unit died on them. I'll cross that bridge when I get there. Though, I would imagine as long as I don't keep it sitting on a charger, don't use it unnecessarily, and only recharge it if it actually becomes depleted - it should last.I recommend this product. 👌Thank you for reading!

Easy to use, started my 4.6L F150 with a drained battery without any issue.
My late model F-150 sat for a colder than normal couple of weeks over the holidays, and when I went to start it, the battery didn't have enough juice to fire it up. I had wanted a jump pack anyway so I read some reviews and ordered the GB50. It came with a USB cord and a car power adapter for that, but no AC plug... not a huge deal, just something to keep in mind. I read the manual and then plugged its USB cord into an old Samsung phone charger I had sitting around waited until the lights went from red to green... roughly 2 hours from one red light to full green. I tried to crank the truck again but the battery was almost completely gone, almost no response at all. I then connected the GB50, waited for a few a seconds, heard it click, and then tried to crank the truck. It fired right up, no problem. So far I'm pleased. Build quality seems good, and the unit is lightweight and compact for the power it provides. Having a light wasn't something I was really looking for but might be useful at some point, and being able to function as a power bank for a USB device might be useful as well. I like that this unit has some protection built in, both in that I don't have to hook my vehicle up to someone else's if they need a jump, and for cross wiring if the unit was plugged in wrong. Note that for a very dead battery, there's an override option to turn the safety features off and just provide power, which might be needed if your battery is totally dead and the unit can't sense it once connected. I have a fairly new battery so I didn't need it this time, but for a completely dead one it may be required. Hopefully I won't need it again any time soon, but if I notice any issues in the future I'll update my review.

Excellent Jump Starter Box - will never go back to jumper cables.
Have owed the GB50 XL (1500A) for over a year and I've had to use it twice on my 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500HD Crew Cab (6.0 liter engine). Both times, it performed flawlessly under the conditions it was used.First time, on a nearly 5-year-old battery. Second time, on a newer battery that was being drained by a faulty A/C control unit that was purchased off Amazon (thinking it was either a bad refurb, or a cheap knockoff). Both times, the battery was below 2 volts as the Boost LED light was off (i.e. not illuminated). In those cases, below 2 volts, the unit didn't jump start the battery. Wouldn't even make a noise trying to turnover. Fortunately, it has a "manual override" feature. In those cases, I pressed the manual override button for 3 seconds as indicated in the instructions, and the truck sprang to life immediately. So not only does it work when needed, it's incredibly easy to use and very easy to connect. A far superior option that dealing with the much larger jumper cables and trying to (1) find another vehicle willing to help and (2) dealing with aligning them, if possible, to allow the cables to reach. Each of the 5 vehicles in our family has one of these, each rated appropriately for the size of the engine in them.As a bonus, they have built in lights that can be used in the dark if needed...and, they can be used to charge a phone if needed. We will never go back to using jumper cables.Only thing to remember is to keep this unit charged. We set a reminder to check the units 2x a year to make sure they are charged.Highly recommended!
