Fantastic Homemade Ice Cream Maker
Excellent homemade ice cream maker! We previously had an old fashioned, nostalgic ice cream maker- it was always a bit of a hassle to make homemade ice cream because it required rock salt and lots of ice. This Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker successfully replaced it because the bowl is supercooled, circumventing the need for the ice and rock salt and making this option much easier for cleaning up. The machine is easy to use-we just make up the batter the night before, chill it overnight, and in the morning churn it so it can set up in the freezer during the day before enjoying it in the evening after dinner. The machine has settings for ice cream, gelato and sorbet. We have primarily used the gelato setting because of issues with lactose intolerance. We use a recipe that uses lactose free whole milk, cornstarch (for our thickener), maple syrup and white sugar (for the sweetener), salt, and our extract (vanilla, cake batter, butter are 3 flavors we have tried so far) or espresso powder (for coffee flavored gelato). The gelato setting churns the ice cream at a slow pace and it is done in 30 minutes. After letting it set up in the freezer for a few hours, it is ready to enjoy with a nice thickened consistency. The machine ends up paying for itself given the cost of store bought ice cream and certainly it is much, much cheaper than buying ice cream at an ice cream shop. Very pleased with our purchase!

Incredibly easy to use and makes great ice cream
A great product. Very easy to use and makes great ice cream. Am going to try frozen yogurt next. Very simple use - plug in, push 'Ice Cream' button, pour in mixture, wait 25 minutes. DONE! Just make sure to freeze bowl first BEFORE usage.

Makes great ice cream!
I moved and my old ice cream maker with the bucket and turn crank on top got left behind. I ordered this after much deliberation. It’s a nice unit. The inner piece you have to freeze overnight. I’ve used it several times and it’s still working like it’s new. It’s very quiet compared to my old bucket style one. The ice creams we have made have been creamy and delicious! They only thing that makes me wish I’d gotten the bucket style maker is the size of the ice cream container, and the fact that I could just turn my old one on and let it go until I was satisfied. If you’re wanting smaller amounts of ice cream this is a great, sturdy appliance.

Love this Ice Cream Maker
After years of a handcrank ice cream maker, followed by several large bucket electric models i decided to buy this product as it seemed easy to use and a lot less hassle. Completely spot on. The machine came as advertised and I bought an additional replacement bowl in case we wanted 4 quarts instead of just 2 although 2 is plenty. First of all, this machine has very few working parts and is easy to put together and use. It's not overly large and can easily fit in a pantry as the bowl, lid etc. all fit together so no need to store separately. It sits easilly on the kitchen counter and is sturdy. the machine didn't move or creep which is something i was concerned about in buying this. It stayed right in one spot. I used a family recipe for the ice cream base, but the booklet that comes with the product has a lot of recipes in it and they look great. I'm going to try them. As for my batch, it came out perfect. I did freeze the bowl for almost 24 hours before starting the machine and I also started with very cold ice cream base. The bowl remained very cold throughout and even took almost the entire day to come back to room temp after the process was done and the ice cream was put in a container in the freezer. For those that are having issues with ice cream spilling over, whenever you make ice cream you have to leave room in the container for expansion. I left about an inch and a half or so from the top. This worked out perfect. I pressed the ice cream setting and away it went, added my fruit when there was about 5 minutes left (don't add it too early or the fruit will settle to the bottom.) By the time it had finished the ice cream had reached the top of the bowl but had not spread into the housing at all. The ice cream came out soft serve. It hardened up a bit after sitting overnight in the freezer. It's still not quite as hard as it would have been had I used the old fashioned bucket container with rocksalt and ice but it's firm enough and not soupy or soft serve. The texture is creamy and consistent through the whole batch. Cleanup is a snap seriously. You just rinse out the bowl, the lid and paddle and you're done. It is a bit noisy but all ice cream makers are. In my opinion this isn't a negative as it's common. The timer feature is nice, it counts down for you and has settings for gelato and sorbet as well. Overall great product. highly recommended.

Great Homemade Ice Cream—Just Needs a Bit of Patience
Great Homemade Ice Cream—Just Needs a Bit of Patience I’ve been using the Cuisinart 2 Qt Ice Cream Maker, and overall, it’s a solid machine. It’s super easy to use—just freeze the bowl ahead of time, pour in your mixture, and let it churn. In about 20–25 minutes, you’ve got smooth, delicious ice cream, sorbet, or frozen yogurt. The 2-quart size is perfect for families or entertaining, and clean-up is pretty straightforward. The only thing to note is you must freeze the bowl for at least 24 hours beforehand for the best results, so it’s not exactly spontaneous. Also, the motor can be a bit loud while running, but nothing too crazy. All in all, it’s a great buy if you love homemade ice cream and don’t mind a little prep time!

Fluffy, Creamy Non-Dairy Ice Cream in whatever flavor I want!
My first home ice cream maker and aside from having a professional soft serve machine in my kitchen (of which exists only in my dreams) this machine is hands down impressing me each and every time. The first machine I ordered was defective in that the countdown timer did not beep when the cycle was done. Amazon exchanged the machine with zero hassle and the one that arrived works perfect. As a vegan, not only are the store bought ice creams extremely expensive, flavor selection limited, and the added gum ingredients always destroy my stomach. Additionally I'm not a fan of carrageenan in my foods. This ice cream maker allows me to use my homemade nut or seed milk, any store bought milk, I can add creamer or not add creamer to keep it lower in fat calories, and the recipes are endless. I've found the consistency of the ice cream depends on what milk type I use (almond, rice, hemp, cashew, soy etc) as well as how much creamer is used. However, the machine has yet to produce bad quality ice cream even if I challenge it with a thinner milk type (i.e. rice milk with no creamer). It consistently produces creamy, fluffy ice cream no matter what the recipe. I can hear the ice cream maker when I'm in the next room. Its not obtrusively loud (slightly louder than my kitchen aid mixer) but the it only needs to be on for a short period of time (ie. 25 minutes for ice cream and longer if your premix has not cooled for a period of time) There have been times when I did not pre-cool my mix and simply added cold milk, tapioca starch with a bit of creamer or coconut cream (other methods require boiling which would automatically need a cool period of a several hours) and the result is still good, but the consistency akin to a milkshake (which I have no problem devouring.) All that being said, speaking for the non-dairy world, its super flexible and turns out creamy fluffy ice cream in a variety of milk types. I have not found it to get rock hard frozen when I transfer it to the freezer. I'm not a fan of rock hard ice cream and like that once I open the container my ice cream is fluffy and ready to eat. Super easy to operate. Literally one button. You employ two buttons if feel you want to increase the churn time. I haven't tried the sorbet setting yet because I was so happy with the ice cream output I couldn't stop making ice cream every day (yikes.) I am now ready to venture into non-dairy sorbets and can report back if anyone is interested. *another reviewer stated their lid does not stay on and they tape it with duck tape. The lid is not designed to lock into a stabilized position. The instruction manual specifically states it is designed to be loose and there are a few reasons as to why. On both of the machines I've had, the lid is only slightly loose - (we're talking about movement of a few centimeters and once the machine starts its unnoticeable.)

Good product
This works so well! I don’t use it too often but it’s easy to remember how to use every time I need it and does the job well!

Me encanta!

No momento, é meu utencílio favorito. O inconveniente é o espaço que a tigela ocupa permanenemente no congelador, caso se deseje usar sem programar 24 horas antes.
