This is the only adding machine that i will use. The old one lasted about 10 years and this one has been about 3-4 years. Still dependable

This calculator works as described. It is a good value for the price. Thermal printers are quiet and print much better than those using ink rolls or ribbons. I use 4 printing calculators for my business, and the overall quality of these is far superior to others I have had over the last 37 years in business.

PRO's: It's a thermal printer so...NO MORE EXPENSIVE AND MESSY INK ROLLERS OR RIBBONS! User programable message printing, such as headers for deposit tapes. DATE and TIME scrolling, when no key has been pressed for a few minutes. Has memory back-up. CON's: Thermal paper is slightly more expensive per roll. Has been in daily use for aprox. 6 mos., without ANY problems. Simply DO NOT yank on paper, use paper-feed button and printing mechanism will last.

My previous adding machine was a low end Canon. That worked OK until the ink pads wore out and I could not get the generic replacements to work. This unit is much larger, but contains the roll inside to keep dust out of the print head. I'm still not used to the quietness; I miss the hammering of the Canon as it printed line after line, while this thermal unit just spits the entries out quietly. Getting the text messages to print was a learning experience, but practice made it easier. Some of the functionality works differently from the other machine, but I am learning how it works. I did not find the display to be as bad as some reviewers, but it definitely is not as bright as other adding machines. The bold print for negatives numbers seemed to be a kludge because of the thermal paper, but if you had to make photo copies for a report, color would not come through unless you had a color photocopier. Overall, it seems to be a good, higher end adding machine.

An excellent machine. So, I bought a second one, for my second desk. They are used to make time sheets, print invoices and statements, and much more. My clients are restaurants so paper tape invoices are quite common and perfectly acceptable. NOTE: Amazon indicates that a AAA battery is required. This is not correct. The text memory is supported by a typical CR2032 3 volt lithium cell.

I think this is a wonderful calculator and the price I paid really made it worth while. I like all the options available. For my needs it serves well. It does have more options that I need so for the heavy duty users this would be great for you. The size is good for my hand and I think I prefer the thermal printing verses the regular paper. It can keep up to your speed on the calculator no problem.
