I’ve been using the Neutrogena Rapid Tone Repair Retinol + Vitamin C Dark Spot Corrector, and it has quickly become one of my favorite steps in my skincare routine. The texture is lightweight, absorbs beautifully, and never feels greasy. What impressed me most is how quickly it started to brighten my skin — within a couple of weeks, my stubborn dark spots looked softer and my overall tone looked more even.The combination of dermatologist‑proven retinol and vitamin C really delivers. My skin looks smoother, fresher, and more radiant, and even the fine lines around my eyes look less noticeable. I also appreciate that it’s free of mineral oil and dyes, making it gentle enough for daily use.If you’re looking for a serum that truly helps fade discoloration while improving texture, this one is absolutely worth trying. My skin looks clearer, brighter, and more confident every day.

Pleased with results! It's not immediate, but it does fade the redness out. I usually apply before bed and make sure the skin is dry. Rub into the skin well. It seems to take approx a week to see results.

If this doesn't work for you, I recommend that you see a dermatologist. Seriously, you may have skin cancer or precursor.I've come back to this after getting disgusted with its tube design. I've used multiple tunes, liked results, but the pump quits working b4 all the product is gone - sometimes w/ as much as half remaining. I have to cut the tube open, and then the product starts drying out.There's *got* to be a better dispensing method! At least allow the pump to be unscrewed from the tube, Neutrogena!So, buying again bc it does a great job w/o overdrying the area where applied. The scent is a bit strong if you're sensitive, but pleasant.

Dark spots are lightening

While I like this product and did see noticible differences in tone, wrinkles and texture early on in use, I feel as though my skin or the product has seemingly plateaued. While I feel it "may" be helping to keep things at bay, the initial improvement is just not progressing at all any more. I have highly sensitive skin! At first I noticed mild irritation using every other day, as time passed and I became accustomed to the product it became a non issue. I've used this well over a six month period of nightly application and as I've said, it's just at the point that this is at a stand sill. I don't like the fact that Neutrogena will not disclose the percentage of retinol in their products. The serum is the most efficacious I.e. Strongest product in their retinol lines. I have learned that the higher the percentage of retinol, the more yellow the product will be. Retinol cannot be dyed! This is a light/slightly towards medium yellow, not as deep as butter. Sorry, I'm kind of struggling with what to compare the color to. I think the price is quite reasonable and this is a really great introduction to the benefits of retinol especially if you have sensitive skin. Just be aware, the results may be good in the beginning but eventually it just becomes a maintenance product. I would recommend that while using a retinol product follow it with a good moistureizer, if you use during the day make sure your wearing at least a SPF of 30. Nightly application is best! Use on clean dry skin, followed by moisturizer. I hope this helps. Best of outcomes to you.

Not heavy, not rich, but my skin feels comfortable — not tight, not angry. Which, honestly, is all I ask of a retinol product.After using it consistently, my skin tone looks more even. Dark spots aren’t magically erased (because reality), but they’re softer and less obvious, and my face just looks more pulled together.And for value for money? Solid. This works like something pricier without making me feel irresponsible at checkout.Bottom line: this is one of those “don’t mess with a good thing” products. Reliable, effective, no drama. Which is basically the skincare equivalent of a healthy relationship.

I used the entire tube of the product as directed on a few dark age spots. It did absolutely nothing. There are many dark spot removers on the market and I honestly have not found one yet that works. I'd suggest spending your money elsewhere.

After using this for some time, found that it actually helps reduce dark spots and uneven skin tone. Downside is you must remember to put on SPF50 sunscreen after applying this, unless you go to sleep immediately after applying (with lights off!)

This cream is really good for my skin. It does what it says, brightens skin, dark spots are lighter and skin feels soft and smooth. I will be buying this again.
