but I give a great mark for this book
I am not a big fan of autobiographies, but I give a great mark for this book. To me, this portray of James Corden's early life shows that a dream can true, but not without effort. His dream of becoming an actor was a persistent one, but it was not an easy. The numerous failed auditions I think made him grow and this comes out through his writings. His success to fame and then a fall to nadir seem to be surreal, but also a very realistic story. Most people do not have the luxury of staying on the top without any stress, agony and occasional falling back. If you are interested in a story that feels like one written by you, but the person happens to be a celebrity, you will like this book.

James Corden is the real deal
This book was so funny, honest, and written with passion. James has lived out his dreams and he acknowledges his flaws right along with it. He had my attention when he began to talk to me in the first chapter. Well done!

Funny
Excellent read. Be prepared to stop and look for these funny sketches on you tube. Light reading, but also enjoyable.

excellent book for James Corden fans
If you love James Corden (or Smithy), you will love this book. I laughed out loud while reading it and I don't do that. Great story telling, great behind-the-scenes anecdotes and wonderful insight into the man. Read this book. You are in for a treat.

and it's fun.
Written for a British audience, it assume familiarity with British TV shows and stars. Written before he started hosting his American show or doing Caro=pol Karaokes. But Corden;s personality shines through, and it's fun.

Hugely entertaining
I am not a big fan of celebrity and personality in general but there is something engaging and endearingly ordinary at the heart of James Corden. The joy of the character of alter-who of Smithy is hard to deny and when Smithy engages in the comic relief escapades it is terrific to see both he and James Corden live out these little fantasies. That is why I parted from my usual path of not reading this sort of stuff. This book is engaging as it feels like it has been written with open-mouthed incredulity and honesty that these things have happened to him and it all feels so honest.

Really Enjoyed
If you read the introduction to this book and you haven't smiled once, you probably won't enjoy it; but if you've read it and are already laughing, you might enjoy it as much as I did. James comes across as such a genuine person, who's not afraid to admit when he's made mistakes. This book goes up to the end of 2010, so I hope he'll write more in the future.

Honest, witty and completely James Corden
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. James is honest about his life and who he was and what he did. All the stories he told formed clear images in my mind where I could really see him doing all of those things. He's cleverly brilliantly funny and the most precious part is our beloved Gavin and Stacey. How him and Ruth started writing, the ideas etc.I never knew James had all the background he did before G&S and he is an achievement in his own right.Easy to read book and my only wish is he would write another! Well done James.

Honest, genuine record of James Corden's life.
I've thoroughly enjoyed reading this from start to finish, I only tend to read on my holidays due to not having time but having loads due to coronavirus lockdown it's been a joy to get lost in his life and I thank him for filling a few hours with joy and laughter and some sad times but that's life and hope he carrys on in his own unique way to bring more joy to everyone's life.

Not just for Gavin and Stacy fans
If you like biographies and the theatre then this is a great read. It’s well written and disarmingly honest whilst providing enough humour to keep you wanting to read more. Definitely one for Gavin and Stacey fans but there’s a lot more to it than that.
