NETGEAR 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet Unmanaged Network Switch (GS308)

I picked up the NETGEAR 5-Port Gigabit Ethernet switch to go with my NETGEAR Orbi 370 Series, and it ended up being one of those “why didn’t I do this sooner” upgrades. The Orbi already delivers strong, reliable WiFi throughout the house, but adding the switch takes things up a notch—especially for anything that benefits from a wired connection. My TV, gaming console, and work setup all run smoother with zero hiccups. No buffering, no random drops, just steady performance. The switch itself is as simple as it gets. No setup, no headache—just plug everything in and it works instantly. It’s small, quiet, and does exactly what it’s supposed to without drawing attention to itself. Together with the Orbi system, it creates a really balanced setup: fast WiFi everywhere plus rock-solid wired connections where it matters. If you’re already using Orbi and have multiple devices, adding this switch is an easy win.

When I upgraded my home and shop with wired FiOS internet, I eventually ran out of available ports on my Netgear router. This little switch solved that problem instantly and even left me with a couple of extra ports for future expansion. Setup couldn't have been easier. Nice size, small, lightweight but sturdy, durable metal protective outer shell. Very easy to set up (little hard finding it on netgear site to register) and it works great so far. Have my TV and PS3 hooked up and printer is next once longer ethernet cable arrives tomorrow. Had to move in with parents and wifi is not reliable, so had to get something to manage all my connected devices. This was by far the easiest and most cost effective! Just had to get a long and set of short ethernet cables and this switch. Everything was easy to hook up and signal is great. Super convenient way to manage several devices from one ethernet cable! Definitely recommend! Also lifetime warranty and netgear is a proven trusted brand, so you can't go wrong. I'll be using this for a long time, as I'll be moving into an ADU and will need the ethernet switch in there also. Ends of cables fit in nice and snug but not too difficult to get them out to rearrange either. Happy with purchase for sure. Also like that the lights show which lines are connected, will be helpful if internet goes down, so I don't have to walk to the other side of the house to see that its out.

Well worth the price. Easy installation (plug n play) and works well. Upload speed dropped down a bit (from 950 to 790-800), but the difference is barely noticable. All devices had no issues with connectivity.

It's an 8 port unmanaged switch. I connected it, it just worked. Nothing more to say but it is a very good quality one and should operate for many years. I have used Netgear for a long time and have been well pleased with their products.

It arrived quickly and well packaged. It's small and feels like good quality. I don't need a faster or managed switch, so this looks perfect on paper to simply add additional wired ports to my router. Installation was totally painless, just plug in the power and network cables and it immediately started working. No issues whatsoever. I've only had it wired in for an hour or so, but I will update this review if needed.

I needed to run internet to my garage located 280ft from my house, I had my doubts due to the length of wire I needed, but i got this Netgear 8 port data switch and 300ft of cat6a ethernet anyways and honestly, i should have done this sooner! Super easy setup! Plug in and go. Even being run through 300ft of ethernet connection speeds are great through this switch! Tested via wifi 100ft away from my garage router!

This thing is LITERALLY plug it and it just works. After many failed attempts with other brands, I went back to the old reliable Netgear. This things built like a tank and I’m sure it will last for many years to come.
