As Good as a Blade? No -- It's BETTER!
I've tried electric razors periodically over the years hoping to find one that gives a shave relatively comparable to safety or disposable razors. Inevitably, I've found the electrics notably inferior to blades and have switched back. Fed up once again with the rising cost of disposable blades, along with the accompanying nicks, cuts, and irritated skin, I decided recently to try the Panasonic ES 8103s based on the strong positive reviews on Amazon.com. I'm truly glad I did, and encourage those looking to switch from blades to an electric razor to give the ES8103s serious consideration. I should note that I have a relatively light beard, so those with heavy beards might want to look for a review of this product by users with similar features. I also have a mild case of psoriasis, with patches of affected skin near my sideburns and on both sides of my neck near my larynx. This chronic, genetically inherited skin condition means I have a sensitive face that is prone to razor burn and other shaving-related irritations. Thus, a clean, close, comfortable shave is particularly important, since nicks and other problems associated with shaving tend to get magnified. I've used the Panasonic ES 8103s for about two weeks so far, and can honestly report that it has delivered by far the best shave I have ever had, blade or electric. It's easy to use right out of the box. Just unpack it, plug in the detachable charging cord and when the digital display reads "100%" it is ready for use. Right away you will notice a very positive feature: the ES8103s charges very quickly, going from 0% to fully charged in about an hour. The razor holds a charge (based on my shaving needs) for about a week. Cleaning is simple. When the razor needs to be cleaned, a "spigot" symbol shows in the display. Press and briefly hold the on/off button until the razor enters the "turbo" mode (a digital indicator will show, plus the blade sound is clearly different), wet the foil (blade cover) under running water, apply liquid hand soap to the foil and allow the razor to clean itself. The foil is then easily removed by depressing two black buttons on either side of the razor head. Rinse the now-exposed blades and the foil, and let dry. Quick, easy, and efficient. What about the shave? Five stars. The razor looks big, but is actually light and well balanced in your hand. Never mind the few reviews that call attention to what the reviewers perceive as a "freakishly large" head. It just looks that way. I find the ES8103s makes fast, nearly effortless work of my beard. Virtually no pressure is needed to ensure a very close clean shave. Even problem areas (just under your nose, for example) are a snap. The result has been an astonishingly close shave that leaves my face smooth and clean. The shave it delivers lasts longer than a blade shave. No bumps. No nicks. Absolutely no razor burn. Best of all, the ES8103s absolutely does not irritate my sensitive skin. In fact, I swear it does the reverse: it leaves my face so clean and smooth it actually reduces the underlying day-to-day irritation that accompanies mild cases of psoriasis like mine. The ES8103s simply delivers the best shave I have ever head. Every time. If you have sensitive or prone to chronically irritated skin like mine, this product is worth every penny. PS -- you may note that Amazon shows other users purchasing the WES 9013PC replacement kit (outer foil/inner blade) plus a second inner blade only replacement kit. Don't make the mistake of doing this. Just get the WES 9013PC replacement kit on its own. Panasonic recommends replacing the outer foil once a year and the inner blades every OTHER year. Assuming that's right, you won't need 2 sets of replacement inner blades. PROs: GREAT shave. Zero irritation. Lightweight razor. Fast charge. Easy to use. Very decent price for the quality of the shave. Works wet or dry (I have only used it dry). CONs: None. USER UPDATE (12-30-2010): I have now been using this product daily for a month. I can report no changes necessary to my earlier review, except to say that it takes less time to fully charge than originally reported (30 minutes or less as opposed to 1 hour). Bottom Line: Great shave, great price. Highly recommended.

Best electric razor I have ever used.
It's been years since I have used an electric razor exclusively and the last one I owned, a Norelco from the late 90's, was a real workhorse. It was a rotary razor that I picked out for a Christmas present when I was barely 18 years old. I used that razor till the batteries no longer charged and it was left in the bathroom closet as I began to alternate between a regular razor and my dad's cheap rotary electric razor. Frankly, both of them would tear my face up when I used them. After awhile, I finally found a triple bladed razor that did an excellent job and I stuck with it. Fast forward nearly 2 decades, I have been through several variations of razors, including a 65 year old safety razor that did an amazing job, but was hard on my skin if I got in a hurry. After some more experimentation I settled on a relatively cheap razor system that worked well. You see, I find that anything more than 3 blades in a regular razor irritates my skin and causes unwanted ingrown hairs on my face. Since 3 blade cartridge razors seem to be fading away in favor of 4, 5, and even 6 blades, I needed an alternative. That was when I started looking into electric razors again. I knew I wanted a foil razor since past experience showed me that a foil style razor did a good job on my face/skin without irritating it. But when you start to read reviews most say to go for the Braun foil razors, but for the money I just didn't see the point. Im sure a 100-300 dollar foil razor is nice and very advanced, but Im just cutting hair, all I need is something that can handle that. So I sat down and made a list ... 1. It needed to be a foil razor 2. It need to be Lithium Ion powered 3. It needed to have >30 minutes use on a single charge 4. Some sort of battery meter 5. Good reviews from people who use it. 6. Less than $100 7. Wet/Dry usage After much research I found this Arc series from Panasonic. All of them have good overall reviews and meta-analysis on the reviews shows very few paid reviews for these razors, meaning people actually liked the razor enough to log on and write about. This fulfilled requirement #5. For the price, I paid roughly 60.00 for mine, it satisfied my #6 requirement, and the other details of the razor covered #7, #4, #3, #2, and of course #1. So I bought it. Day #1 The first day it took about 20 minutes to charge to 60% before I used it. I have about 2 days growth, so it wasn't a beard, but no where near mere stubble either. Total shave time about 4.5 minutes and I had to go over 2 small spots again due to the fact I wasn't shaving with a mirror. After some aftershave lotion and some time to calm down my face was just as smooth as it is when I shave with my safety razor and more smooth than the time I got a straight razor shave. As for day #1, I give this razor a 9/10. The 2 point deduction is from having to do my jaw line twice since I couldn't seem to get it to cut around the radius of the jaw bone without missing some hairs. I assume this is due to my lack of experience with this razor. Overall, the shave was excellent. Day #5 I have shaved 3 times this week, which is a definite an increase from my normal routine of 1-2x per week. The razor is doing an excellent job. The one thing I have noticed is the foil gets warm the longer the razor is used, which I clearly a side effect from what little amount of friction there is. Because of this, I have found that it is far better to shave the more sensitive areas of your face first, then proceed to the other places. Also, this thing is really loud! Not "wake the baby" loud, but very noticeable by those nearby. Day #10 Today I utilized the wet/dry functionality of the Arc 3. After wetting my face with hot water, I applied a run-of-the-mill $1-$2 shave foam and allowed it to soak for approximately 10 minutes. I then applied a second coat of shave foam and proceeded to shave. I extra lubrication was nice and allowed the razor to glide much better than when I shaved dry. However, the vibrations of the cutting head basically threw water all over the place while I was shaving. Another downside is that with the shave foam, it is difficult to actually see where you are shaving, or what you have missed. Overall, the outcome, at least for my face, wasn't any better or worse than a dry shave. Perhaps a longer soak to soften the stubble or perhaps shaving after a shower would yield better results, but I doubt it would make that much of a difference. Another test I plan to try later on is using a product designed specifically for putting on prior to shaving with an electric razor. Overall, I have to say the Arc 3 is the best razor I have every used thus far. It cuts clean and close, which is saying a lot with the barbed wire I call facial hair. For the price I feel it is a clear winner and a good compromise between cheap razors that mangle your face and ones that cost several hundred dollars.

Fantastic Value
I purchased this as a replacement for a Braun series 5 razor, as the plug stopped working. Unfortunately, it was a discontinuted plug style, so I wasn't able to find a replacement at a reasonable price. I have used a Braun electric razors for the past 12 years, and have been quite pleased with how they worked. Unfortunately, I wasn't expecting to need a new razor ASAP, and didn't have a large amount of money to spend on the replacement. I looked at the Sensotouch, but as I used the three circular blade arrangement on a Norelco shaver before I moved to Braun, I had found that the razor's blade arrangement worked far better for me. Also, I found a fantastic review someone wrote about the different electrics under Sensotouch & the Arc 4 review section...which is worth a view if you want to go deeper. Knowing this, and knowing my price points, I started my own research. Firstly, I found out that Braun had made some changes and their quality had decreased over the last few years. This, combined with their top tier pricing, simply made them too expensive of a risk for me to take. I looked at the new Arc 4 options for Panasonic, and while they have good reviews, I found out that the replacement blades were very expensive, and didn't make a large enough difference in the shave to warrant the price. Therefore, I settled on this version for a very reasonable price and I've been happy so far (been using it about a month). Pros: Efficient - It does the job quickly. You can tell that the 13,000 RPM motor makes a difference. Quick Charge - I haven't watched it extremely closely, but it seems to charge in a couple of hours. Build Quality - For the price (I got it with a $15 discount coupon through Amazon), it is a very high quality razor. Wet/Dry - I like the fact that I can clean it with water, as opposed to the expensive Braun alcohol cleaning system. I haven't used it for actual wet shaving with foam (which may help with stragglers, see in Cons), but it's still neat relative by my Braun. Trimmer - While the placement is odd, it works better than any other trimmer I've ever had on an electric razor (including my $200+ previous razor). It works VERY well. Cons: Loud - Yes, it's loud, but less loud than my Braun. For me, it's no big deal, but if guys are REALLY that sensitive, this makes some noise. Charge Doesn't Hold - It's odd, but it seems like the charge dissipates on it's own quite quickly. Say, maybe about 20% every 3-4 days. That may not be a big deal for me as I keep it plugged in, and am anal about bringing a charger, but it is strange as my Braun held charges forever. Not Heavy Duty - This is a minor irritation for me, but I find that this misses about 5-6 neck hairs each time. I have to look in the mirror, use the trimmer to shorten them, and then clean it up. It isn't the end of the world, but it is surprising. I can't seem to understand why it can be so great on all the other hairs, but not be able to get those last hairs. Overall I like the shaver, and am pleased with how it has worked for me so far. If you have very thick strong beard hair like I do, be prepared to check in the mirror for stragglers after a good shave...at least if you shave dry like I do.

Good if you're in a hurry
My 10 year old Braun electric razor finally died. I normally shave with a double edge razor and only use an electric when I'm in a hurry. Wish I had tossed my old Braun earlier as this ES81033S gives me a much superior shave. Closer, with fewer passed and less burn. I haven't compared it with the higher priced brands or models but find it hard to imagine they can be much better, especially given the price differential. I've never had a "wet" electric razor. Normally, I prep my beard with LectricShave, wait a minute and use the electric shaver followed with a face wash and non-alcohol after shave creme. I decided to try using this razor with my traditional way versus a wet shave. I used the Taylor Old Bond Sandalwood shave creme that some reviewers mentioned as exceptional for wet shaving. I did not find a noticeable difference, so I will continue to prep with LectricShave and after shaving will wash with a quality men's face soap and then apply a non-alchohol shave creme. I would suggest to those men who are shaving wet with the electric razor that you're missing out on a very pleasing shaving experience by using the electric razor for wet shaving. If you're going to go to the effort of creating a quality shave creme do yourself a favor and learn to use the old traditional double edged razors. It's a rewarding experience and it's impossible to get a closer shave when you take the time to do it right and it literally lasts me two days. A lot of men are going back to this "old" traditional shaving method mostly for the pleasant experience but also because the blades are very inexpensive when compared to the outrageous safety blade costs. There are a lot of youtube videos that will walk you through it if you haven't tried it before. There are three basic types of double edged razors; closed, open and slant. I won't go into the differences but I've tried all three extensively and I find the slant razor to give me the smoothest shave with no nicks or razor burn. Of course the blades are critically important and I've tried them all. I can grow a full beard and for me the Rapira blades made in Russia are excellent. You'll need a shaving mug and a decent brush and shaving soap/creme (I'll use the Old Taylor that I bought for the double edge shaving since it produces a nice thick lather). Double edge purest swear by a natural badger bristle brush but they can go into the hundreds of dollars. I have one but Amazon sells a reasonably priced, equally good in my opinion, synthetic "The Purest" satin tip shaving brush that is my go-to brush. You'll finish by using a quality shaving creme. Nivea and Arko make fine, alchohol free, shaving cremes. Soap Commander cremes, with multiple subtle post shave scents are also excellent. They have a trace amount of alcohol in them but other quality natural ingredients that are great for your face and skin and they are made by a small family company. You can get many of these products on Amazon but Maggard Razors is another fine small online family owned company that carries a full line of shaving products including all the products I've mentioned. I have no affiliation with either of them. In summary, whenever I want to take the time to have a pleasurable shaving experience and want a baby smooth shave that lasts two days I use my double edge razor. When I'm in a hurry I'll use the Panasonic.

What A Difference Two Years Makes
I bought an electric shaver a couple years ago for the same price as this one (around $60). I wish I could remember the brand and model, as it would certainly help with the comparison I am about to do. But, I threw that one away after using this one for the first time, and I will tell you why. I have only used this shaver twice, but I couldn't be more impressed. I will usually use a manual razor in the shower, then use my electric to pick up anything I missed. However, if it has only been a day or two since my last shave, I will just use the elctric. When I first got this shaver, I plugged it in to charge, which it did within a couple hours from 20% to 100%. After using it twice, it is still at 100%, which the convenient LCD screen will tell you. My old one had no such indicator, and you only knew how much charge was left by the motor slowing down. Now, the quality of the shave is obviously the most important aspect of the product. This product delivers in a big way. It has been very hot here in the Pittsburgh, PA area, as many are probably aware, since ti has been pretty hot all over the US. As such, I would often be a bit sweaty, after taking a hot shower and drying off in a bathroom with little ventilation. My former shaver was very difficult to use under these conditions, and there were times I wouldn't even bother because I knew it would be too difficult to move around on my skin, which would cause irritation. This one, hwoever, has performed flawlessly, even under those conditions. It does not stick and jump around, as I move it over my face, even when it reaches a "sticky" spot from the sweat. The closeness of the shave is also excellent, which, again, is the key to a good shaver. I almost went for the expensive shavers that are sold by other brands, such as the SensoTouch. However, after reading the lackluster reviews on those, I couldn't justify spending the money. Now, I'm really glad I didn't, as I don't believe for one second that this shaver is lacking in any way over the more expensive models out there. I should point out there is one thing to be aware of. The noise this thing makes is pretty loud. When I was using it on Sunday, I kept thinking that it sounds like a weed whacker. Now, that's an exaggeration, but the somewhat high-pitched noise at a decently high volume is something to be aware of, as some people are sensitive to such things. My hearing is better than most peoples', and it didn't bother me. If someone was asleep in the next room, I suspect this would probably wake them up. That wasn't enough of a reason to justify me giving this product any lower of a rating because, like I said, it doesn't bother me a bit. All in all, if you're comparing this to the $150-$250 shavers out there, I recommend saving your money and giving this one a try. I'm not at all sorry that I did.

Bye Bye Braun
Wow! Let me start out by saying I have used a Braun 340S for years. At first I was very satisfied, as I found it far superior to the rotary Norelco that preceded it. As time went by, however, I started to like the Braun less and less. Cleaning it was a pain- whenever I used it as a dry shaver, I found it difficult to clean the head, primarily because it is all one piece, so the hairs had a thousand nooks to get packed into that were inaccessible to the brush. I wound up taking it into the shower (just the head portion) and holding it tight against the showerhead to "power wash" the crap out. This got it MOSTLY clean. The Panasonic, by contrast, has blades and foils that come apart in a second, so that whiskers have no where to hide. I just snap the foil off, hold the power button to go into supersonic cleaning mode, and run it under tap water. I then rinse the foil while it is off, ;put two drops of hand soap on the blades, snap the foil back on, and go into supersonic clean mode again while rinsing the whole assembly. Just like that, my razor is perfectly clean, lubricated, and smells good. I lay it on a towel to dry, which I understand some guys don't like to do, but since I live in the desert, dying time is very very short. But it's all about the shave, right? Here is my experience. With the Braun, I had to use some pressure and go over spots repeatedly to get a good shave. Inevitably, this caused irritation to my face, so I had to shower and wash my face afterwards. As long as the replacement blade/foils were fairly new, I could get a n\pretty good shave with minor irritation. But for me the blades wore quickly, and performance dropped fast. I resorted to using Lectric Shave, which help produce a closer, less irritating shave. The final straw came in March 2016, when my Braun was again dulling and producing a sub par shave. I went on Amazon to order replacements for $26, but noticed that I had just bought the current set in November 2015. Was I really going to need to buy new blades every 4 months?? I began doing my research. At first I looked into the Braun 5 and 7 series. Maybe they would last longer? Maybe the cleaning station would help? While reading the reviews, though, I found several comparing these models to Panasonic ARC shavers. That lead me to review the Arc3 in particular, since I didn't want to spend a lot for a shaver I might or might not like. Reviews were good, and the $65 price was less than I was spending every year on new blades for the Braun. I clicked ONE TOUCH. Two days later I received the ARC3. It had a ten percent charge, so of course I plugged it up. I timed the charge (yes, I am that kind of guy) and it hit 100% in 56 minutes. The moment of truth had arrived. One pass across my three day growth, and I was hooked. Everything came off without follow up strokes, and best of all there was no sensation of pulling or even cutting. It seemed the razor was just wiping the whiskers away. I did my whole face in approximately 3 minutes flat. Afterwards there was no irritation whatsoever, unlike the Braun, which always left me with razor burn that forced me to wash my face after every use. Amazing! Best of all my wife gave my face a good feel, and approved of the smooth results. As close as a razor shave? Not quite. But by far the best any shaver has ever given me. I have since used the Panasonic with Lectric Shave (I noticed no difference at all except tougher cleanup). I also used it was a wet shaver with Edge gel. This gave a very slightly closer shave than using it dry, but made cleanup more involved still. I'll probably only do that in the future for special occasions. But it's nice to have the option! Also, some people have mentioned the "noise" this razor makes. Whereas the Braun makes a nice substantial buzz that sounds high quality, this Panasonic makes a higher pitched whine, rather like a giant mosquito, because the motor is much faster. (I suspect that is why I get one pass smoothness that the Braun cannot offer). Personally, I like the sound of this razor better. And it sounds really cool when you go into the super high speed cleaning mode. AS for charging- after two weeks (I shave either daily of ever other day), the charge has dropped to 50%, so it seems I will charge every 3-4 weeks. If you are considering this razor, JUST BUY IT. I have no negatives to report at all!

Great For Sensitive Skin But There Are Some Limitations...
Let me start by saying that I have extremely sensitive skin so I have all but given up on razor shaving, it always makes my skin scaly, blotchy and red (a real eyesore and sometimes painful). So I gave the Braun Series 7 shaver a try about 5 years ago and it gave me razor burn on my neck (gave it 30 days). I have a fairly light beard but the hairs on my neck/under chin are pretty dense. I have been using just an electric beard trimmer to "shave" for the last couple years and obviously it does not get close nor is it intended to. I had an interview coming up so I decided to try electric again and with the reviews on this device I thought "why not?". After about 2 weeks of use and using only about 3x/week here are my observations: PROS -I don't mind the higher pitch hum at all, definitely not noisy enough to complain and I have very sensitive ears. Lot of reviews on "hear" indicate that is a problem, it is not IMHO. -Shaves closer than any other electric I've owned hands down and I've owned several Brauns, several Norelco's. ***But see cons. -Does not give me razor burn or irritation on any part of my face (I use Remington FaceSaver). -Charges very quick (about 1 hour) or a quick 5 min charge is possible. -Nice LED display displays % of charge remaining making it easy power management. -Best cleanup of any shaver out there (Panasonic in general), very cost effective (soap/water) and very quick. -Wet/Dry is a plus for clean up by I'm skeptical of using shaving cream to shave with electric. Nonetheless, wet/dry gives it more versatility than other razors. CONS -takes quite a bit of time to shave, to me the advantage of electric is the ability to shave in under 10 mins. This typically takes about 10-12 mins for me to shave. -takes a lot of passings to get a close shave (see above). -Long(er) hairs are not easy to cut. If you go without shaving for 2-4 days it has a harder time with that length of hair. The side trimmer is helpful with longer hairs but does not completely solve the problem. -Side trimmer is not engineered properly so you can see where you are cutting, creates a "blind spot" and is a guessing game where you are shaving. -Does a very good job of shaving under chin but struggles mightily at shaving north/south below side burns. I end up using a straight razor to get the 2 inches below my sideburns straight and clean every time since this is very poor at shaving in this area in particular. This creates more time/cleanup time shaving which is what we are all trying to mitigate. -Because shaves take so long this does not hold enough charge for two weeks of shaves, which it advertises. More like 1 week's worth of shaves (3x/week) which is pretty sub-standard. -Need to allow corded shaving, this is a must for any good shaver in my opinion. All in all, I think is a slightly above shaver but I am captivated enough to try their Arc IV which adds an additional blade with the hopes it will take less passings to shave. I will be returning this within 30 days and looking for a Black Friday deal for a Arc IV since the 4th blade adds quite a bit in price (questionable value for 4 blades). If anyone has any tips or best practices for the shaver please let me know (particularly shaving below side burns and creating a straight side-burn end). As Bill Murray/Harold Ramis once said, I want to be a fan of this shaver "but I am willing to learn". Hope this helps...

Best electric shaver I have used
I have owned 2 other electric shavers previous to this one: another Panasonic, and a Remington. The Remington was a higher end foil model and it did well (but to be fair, I used that one when my beard wasn't as rough/thick so I can't compare), and my old Panasonic was a cheap $20 one that shaved surprisingly well. Anyways, about a year and a half ago I switched to razors. I used Schick hydro 5-blades, and while it cut close against the grain, it severely irritated my skin and caused moderate acne and razor bumps (me being an acne prone 18-year old guy). Then about six months ago, I switched to double edged safety blades. I bought a Merkur handle, feather blades, proraso shave soap, and I even put oil on my face before the soap, basically I had all the equipment I needed to provide me a supposedly superior shave. Well, let's just say I was tempted to go back to Schick quite a few times. I kept trying DE, but in the end I think I had more irritation and nicks than with Schick. Don't get me wrong, I know some guys respond very well with the double edged (and even straight razor) shaving, but my face is just too sensitive and dry, and my beard too thick, all of which is a bad combination for any razor shaving. So about late February, I remembered my old electric razors and thought maybe a good foil razor would be the answer to my problems. I spent a couple days researching different brands and models and going through all of the "verified purchase" reviews, and I finally decided on this Panasonic. Week one: I did it completely dry. I noticed that there was absolutely no drag or irritation, but it did make my skin very flaky and slightly bumpy (I attribute these to having sensitive skin and going through the adjustment stage). Week two: I started shaving after my showers and it seemed to not shave as close, not really sure why. But I was getting maybe 90% less flaky skin, and only a few bumps on my jawline and neck when I pressed to hard. Week three: I am now shaving in the shower (I should mention that every time I wet-shaved, I never used my proraso or anything else on my damp face). My shaves are now as close as they were when I dry shaved, and even more comfortable and smooth thanks to the steam. The shaver also doesn't break my skin if I go over any raised acne bumps, which was a huge problem with the manual razors. In fact, I am not getting nearly as much inflamed acne anymore caused by irritation, mostly just hormonal acne now. I've even shaved dry a couple times this week as a quick touch up, or due to time constraints, and no more flaky skin! After shaving, I rinse my face a couple times with warm water and then splash it with some cold water to close the pores and prevent ingrown hairs. I haven't started week 4 yet, but I expect my results to continue getting better. A few more things about the razor: -After all of my shaves, my stubble still appears to be a little dark, even though it is smooth to the touch. I actually don't mind the dark look, it's only minimal anyways. And like I said, my face still feels smooth which is what's important. -One full charge lasts me about 6-8 shaves, but I also take longer to shave than what the instructions recommend, which is just 3 minutes. I usually take about 10 minutes to shave in the shower. -It. Is. So. Loud. Every time I dry shaved, I put cotton balls in my ears because my ears would ring a little after using it. I have no problem with the noise in the shower though. -I have not had any problems with steam getting under the battery screen even though I've held it completely under water a few times. -Cleaning is very easy. The head easily pinches off and it just needs a rinse. Use soap every once in awhile to keep it most fresh. -I find it very annoying that I can't use the shaver while it's charging, I could with my other electric shavers which is what extended their lives past what they probably should have been. -I have absolutely no problem shaving on my neck like other reviewers have experienced. I have a pretty protruding adam's apple, and not even that gets irritated when I glide over it. I ended up giving this shaver 4 stars instead of 5 for a few reasons: -One, I can't shave while it's charging. -Two, it requires multiple passes for me since it doesn't seem to lift my hairs. I have to stretch my skin around more than I expected I would, and a couple hairs don't get cut at all if they are laying down completely flat. Since I shave every morning, the longer shave time is a slight bother, but only when compared to my old Panasonic. When I was using a safety razor, it would take upwards of 30-40 minutes to shave because of the 3-4 passes + touchups I needed to get close, and the extra slowness I took to minimize irritation. -Three, the pop-out trimmer is relatively weak compared to my old cheap Panasonic, so I still use that to trim my sideburns every once in awhile. Other than these few cons, I am really enjoying this shaver, and my sensitive face is even more thankful that I made the switch! I plan to update this review in a few months or so after I've spent more time with it, but feel free to make any comments. EDIT: I have now had this razor for a little over 5 months and it is still great. It doesn't shave my upper lip/cheeks as close as I'd like, but it does shave my neck really close. I now only shave dry at night time unless I forget, then I shave in the morning during my shower so my skin doesn't get flaky. Overall, I would still recommend this razor highly, but look at other razors to see if you can find a closer cutting one.

Excellent no-frills shaver
Tired of electric shavers with large heads that seem to be more for show than usefulness? Try this simple but effective model. The two heads make for a much lighter product (great for travel) and yet one that shaves just as well as more recent models that have four-way foils but still only two heads. There is no display of elapsed shaving time, but the charge level is always visible and that is likely to be more important to most people. There is also the welcome absence of any beeping when you switch off the shaver and the charge is low.

Wow! Great razor!!!
I’m very much into wet shaving. In fact l have a small collection of safety razors, shaving creams, aftershave etc etc. As much as l love the ritual of a wet shave, there are times where l don’t have the luxury of time. Hence the reason l started my research of a electric razors. To my complete and utter surprise l was super impressed on how this beautiful razor looks and performs. I will mention l do have sensitive skin. But, right out of the box, without any shaving cream…l was anxious to try out this new purchase. I couldn’t believe how close a shave l received with very minimal irritation. I believe with time, and lubrication, l can get a super nice, close and incredibly quick shave. I know there are much more expensive razors in the market, but why pay more…this one performs near perfect. I did a lot of research and this arc 3 had really excellent reviews. My regret..what took me so long!

1 week in...
Shipped very promptly. I'm a razor guy... but my hope is to be fully converted to this shaver in a month. I get lots of ingrown hair on my neck, with a razor I only shave a few times a week just to avoid the irritation, the razors I use cost a small fortune as well. With this new shaver I am shaving daily. I was impressed with how close this can shave, it's better than I could get with my razor. Initially I had pretty bad razor burn but I'm told to expect that, a few days in it's much less pronounced. I'll update with my experience, but so far I'm really impressed.
