Great tree fertilizer as long as they don’t break during shipping. I have two windmill palms and this fertilizer is great for my palms and they do very well on it. It’s one of the easier and less messy fertilizers to apply and I especially appreciate only having to apply it twice a year instead of monthly like other forms of fertilizer (granules or liquids). My palms really green up within a week of putting these fertilizer spikes in the ground, and I believe that this fertilizer has contributed to an inch or two more of growth each year then if I had not used this fertilizer. This form of fertilizer is a little bit more expensive than many granular forms of fertilizer, but the added convenience of only having to apply it twice a year makes it well worth the small, additional cost. My only complaint is due to the shipping and not the actual fertilizer product itself. The first order arrived with broken spikes if a spike is broken, it turns to a powder and is not insertable into the soil. I did return the product which was a bit more inconvenient than if I would’ve driven to the home improvement store, and purchased this product in-store. I decided to roll the dice and purchase again on Amazon and the second order arrived undamaged. So hopefully the first order with the broken spikes was just a one-off. I will be ordering more this fall right before it’s time to apply for the second time this year. If I ever receive any more damage, damaged spikes, I will quit purchasing online and just go in and purchase this in-store. But again, that is the fault of poor shipping procedures and not anything to do with the quality of the product.

Recently planted two "Christmas palms" in an area where we had to have three large diseased trees removed. So soil isn't in the best condition. Stumps were ground but a lot of root remains below surface. Palms we bought were about about four to six feet tall-- one three trunk, one two trunk. In both cases, we used this product within two weeks of placing the trees. Both trees seem to be thriving. The second one was looking a bit shaky, but once we added these spikes, it started to come along really well. I'm a believer! Since we are not very interested or good at landscaping, also like the convenience of these spikes. I think they've helped a lot.

Planted some new young palms a few months ago that weren't doing so well, so I decided to try these out. I didn't notice much results at 1st, but I don't think I was watering them enough. Then we got some heavy rain for about a week, and the palms quickly turned around and have been doing well ever since. How do I know it was the spikes? Can't say for certain, but pretty sure, because after the rain, there were big round green and lush circles of grass around each of the spikes I berried that have continued to grow strong, lush, and green still to this day. The palms are still doing great as well.

First let me start by saying I am a professional landscaper and have been for years. I personally have planted a ton of palm tree's and never used palm food. If they are planted right to where the palms can drain even in Virginia where I live 95% of time they will be fine if they were healthy. But I decided to test this product out at my house being I planted a couple palms that were take outs from a customers house but still looked "decent". I will say I planted two in my front yard that get the exact same amount of light during the day. I used the recommended amount of sticks in one and left the other alone. The one with the fertilizer sticks really came alive. While the other one kind of lagged behind it. Needless to say I ended up buying more I have some about 15 ft palms in my back yard that I ordered more of for. All in all I would not say they will save palms but fertilizing plants is never a bad idea. I now buy a couple packs of these and use them for every palm tree I plant. It is just a little piece of mind.
