Easy to setup and compatible with Alexa and Google
Easy setup through their app. I didn't even have to split my Wi-Fi bands since I was able to manually identify the sockets in the app. Syncing to Alexa and Google was also easy and done through their app so now I can use Alexa to turn on lights at sundown and schedule when they turn off

Plan for Your Device Setup Someplace Close and Convenient to the Router
I bought this because it's the perfect solution for the overhead garage porcelain socket with a pull string. After 70 years it didn't work so well--or at all sometimes--and I was ecstatic to get the LED 3-panel paddle light I had in the socket to turn on and off with commands to Alexa. I've used the Smart Life app to prep devices for Amazon Alexa before, and this device worked with it. BUT, this device was a bit more challenging to install. If possible, use an existing lamp near the router to "pair" (calm word to describe getting your router to recognize and assign a local IP address to the smart socket). Close to the router and convenient is better than far away and on the ceiling. Press the pairing button and begin the install on Smart Life by pressing the "+" symbol at top right. Once paired, you can finish the install on Smart Life by giving the device a name you will use in Alexa. When you then go to Alexa, that app will recognize new devices on the network and will already have that name you gave it. And you're done. In my case, I was the full distance from the router and working with the ceiling socket. Something went wrong or wasn't recognized. It ended up locking up my router interface while it was trying to assign the IP address. Once I recognized that I reset the router (you won't have to do that if you are reading this), moved the whole operation onto a desktop and it all worked well. I then took the socket and installed it in the garage and it has worked perfectly. Distance is only a problem for the pairing sequence, not the daily operation.

Stopped Working After a Few Months
Revised review after the first order was bad. Great Smart Socket with Some Setup Patience At first, setup was a bit tricky and took a few tries to get connected, but once it was up and running, it worked well for several months. It gave me convenient control over my lights through the Smart Life app and voice commands with Alexa. I did run into some Wi-Fi connectivity issues later on, but with a bit of troubleshooting and patience, I was able to get it working again. For the price and features, it’s still a solid smart home option—just be prepared to spend a little time during setup. If you’re looking to start your smart home journey without spending too much, this is a great product to consider.

Works great for remote basement lights
I needed to control pull string light fixtures in the basement. I had bought some multi panel LED lights connected to the old fashioned pull string fixture but the kids were breaking the lights by trying to use the pulse string that would get wrappedaround the LED fixture. This allows us to just use Google Voice to turn the basement lights on.before we go down there. I searched specifically for these as they use the smart life app which I have used for years to Control outdoor landscape lights and smart timers for christmas lights. Adding them to the app was super simple as the app searched for them and found them immediately.. I am very happy with this purchase so far.

Device constantly going offline.
I have two issues with this device. The first issue is after you set up the device and link it to Google, it counts as not one light but two lights which is annoying. The second issue is that the device does not consistently stay connected to to the Wi-Fi. I will go to use the device using a voice command and I will get an alert that the lights are offline. In order to correct it, I have to manually switch off the light and then back on. On a side note, this device will make it so that you cannot manually use the switch for the light. If you turn off the switch then the device definitely will not work as it is not getting any power. So you always have to leave the light on, and then when the device does not connect you have to walk through the dark to attempt a reset before doing the voice command again. Update 11/16/24: Amazon now lists this product as a frequently returned item. After making this review, the seller contacted me on their own offering a refund or replacement or an alternative product at no cost. They also tried troubleshooting the issues I mentioned. I took the refund. So at least their customer service could potentially be good if your product has issues.

Works, but a bit finicky, & dimension problem
This smart socket mostly works. It was relatively easy to set up and get going on wifi with the app for it. Plays well with the Alexa ecosystem. However, I noticed 2 problems after setting it up: 1 - It is a bit finicky and seems to frequently lose network connection or something, There were times when I could not control it from the app and it was unresponsive. Alexa routines also often failed on it. Although this was only sometimes and admittedly most of the time things worked. 2 - Perhaps a bigger problem, this sticks out about 3" from the lamp socket after being screwed in. This means that any bulb you screw into it is also about 3" further out from the base of the lamp fixture than otherwise. For short or small lamp fixtures, this may be a problem, the bulb may not fit if it's a closed fixture, or may protrude from the opening if open. If installed in a location without a fixture where the bulb is bare, it will be seen to be extending too far. 3 - Minor factor - this cannot be used for incandescent lights (heat dissipation problem I guess). Only for LED or halogen lamps.

Great product!
It’s only been a couple of days but so far I'm really impressed by these. We needed to put our garage lights on a timer, tried several programmable timer switches but none of them worked due to old and complicated double switch wiring. Next we tried 3 different brands of wifi connected lightbulbs. The first 2 simply wouldn't connect, the third brand (GE) finally worked but the bulbs were too weak and didn’t provide enough illumination. Finally found these sockets and figured we’d give them a try. I really wasn’t expecting them to work given the lightbulb connectivity issues but they paired almost immediately! The app took a little time to figure out but we were able to group both sockets on 1 switch and program a schedule (they can still be controlled and scheduled individually if needed). Definitely recommend.
