Warren McCloud (Jason Lively) and his friend, Fred (Tim McDaniel), are two young horror filmmakers who are constantly in need of cash, When Warren reaches his 21st birthday, he discovers his grandfather left him a huge inheritance, which ultimately amounts to nothing but a measely pawn ticket. So they think! This ticket leads them to a world where special effects dummies come "alive." This pawn ticket turns out to be worth more than Warren could ever have imagined!

Fun movie
My kids watched this when they were little and just recently they asked what it was called because they really liked it and wanted to see it again. It took awhile to remember the name. Still is a great movie.

loved the special effects -
A great movie, lower budget - not the best plot - but good acting, and the depiction of ghost inhabiting a dummymade for a movie set is great - the dummy-ghost seems so loveable - and interesting -

A silly but enjoyable 80's comedy.
"Ghost Chase" is a silly but enjoyable 1980's supernatural comedy. Suitable for all the family. But it is more likely to appeal to those of us that grew up in the eighties. The story centres around two bungling amateur film makers called Warren and Fred who are in financial trouble. That is until Warren inherits a suitcase from his late grandfather with a haunted clock. The clock contains the ghost of his grandfather's butler Lewis who informs Fred and Warren that there is a hidden fortune in his grandfather's old house. From there on in its a race against time to retrieve the fortune before a crooked studio owner (brilliantly played by Paul Gleason) can get to it first. This film may not have a big budget, great special affects or an Oscar winning cast but it is still great fun to watch. Especially for those of us that grew up in the 1980's. Paul Gleason is brilliant as the crooked studio owner but it is the ghostly butler Lewis who really steals the show. He looks like a cross between Albert Einstein and E.T with a British accent! The film isn't frightening in the least and is more than suitable for young viewers. However they may not appreciate the 80's clothes and sound track as much as grown ups. Belouis Some's "Imagination" is the main song of the film.

Nice Forgotten Kids Favorite
Rememvered watching this as a kid and took me forever to rememver what it was called now as an adult, so glad I finally found it. The movie itself is a nice cheesy late 80s early 90s kids flick that still manages to entertain today :)
