why does it flake after applying?

Flaking, pilling, balling is a good thing! It means it’s working to rid you of wrinkles and dead skin.

I am a 60 year old female and have used this product off and on since it came out. This is a great product but as with any product...different weather, or other skin care products/make up sometimes don’t work well together. 
This cream has two different exfoliating acids in it, the “pilling” “balling” or “flaking” are the results of at least 1 of 3 possibilities (in some cases all three)...
#1) Application should be thin.
#2) Use an exfoliating scrub once or twice a week this will eliminate some flaking.
#3) Some foundations just don’t play well with others. L’Oréal products generally work well together with proper application.
So...bottom line is the pulling, flaking, ect. is this product doing it’s job. When I first began using it I could roll the dead skin off my face within 15 minutes of applying...it literally just slid of in little sheets. It was kinda strange but as I exfoliate with coconut oil and sugar as well as use this product twice a day the “shedding” of old dead skin has slowed
down considerably. 
I will say that I live in an area that gets well over 100 degrees in the summer so during those 3 months of the year I use this at night and use a lighter sunscreen moisturizer during the day.

You are so welcome. The Cell Renewal is a serum that goes under the moisturizer. It is a golden color and goes on silky and disappears into the skin. I have had no problems with breakouts, etc. using the moisturizer on top. I used estee' Lauder night repair for almost 30 years and I think the cell renewal does about the same thing.and it is about 1/3 the price. Wouldn't hurt to try it. Best of luck to you
