What is the height of the space between the lower slatted shelf and the bottom of the seat?

There is a 7inch space. I currently have 5 pairs of my son's sneakers under there.

Is there a weight limit? Would it hold my husband to change into work boots?

May I know the dimensions of this bench?

The dimensions included in Amazon's description are inconsistent. One description has it at 17 x 44 x 18 inches without saying which measurement is H,W or L. We can assume the longest dimension of 44" is the length. However, another part of the description shows the assembled height to be 11". Huh? One can assume that since it also describes the assembled width to be 18" than the remaining dimension is either 11" or 17". That's at least 2 assumptions more than I'm comfortable with when purchasing online. To add to the confusion the several answers provided are either not specific as to which dimension is which or contradicts another answer provided.

How much weight can this hold?

My husband is 190 lbs. and my son is 225 lbs. and they both sat on it very comfortably.
