Like all of these rotomold ice chests, it keeps ice longer than a coleman style chest. For our test, we filled it with 30 poinds of ice, in the bags. (Full to the top) and took it on a camping trip. After 3 days half the ice was water. We dumped in a bunch of water bottles, filling it up. The ice/water lasted another 5 days. It definitely performed better with all the air space gone. Trip temps were 70°- 80°f the entire trip. Comparatively, this is a good deal. I still feel they are overpriced for being plastic and the $20 they cost to make, but thats the free market for you. This chest has VERY GOOD features: rubber feet keep it from sliding around the trailer, lockable with metal reinforcement, bottle openers, awesome drain plug which does not require removal to use, and a very necessary pressure relief valve. If you fall for the awesome work of Yeti's marketing team, you will waaay overpay for an inferior product. Sorry, Yeti, you are what you are. This comes unbranded, so you can make your own "Me" sticker and put it in there. Lol Very happy with this purchase. My bro-in-law also purchased one immediately after he saw it.

2 hunting trips at 6 days each and this holds crushed ice and ice blocks like a champ! I can actually refreeze the leftover ice from each trip. Pros: size, durability, rubber feet, pressure relief valve, closing hasps and much more. Cons: heavy, but you should expect this from a quality cooler so this comes with the territory! I highly recommend getting this cooler instead of paying double for other similar quality brands. You will not be disappointed with this cooler. One tip for you all: add frozen water bottles 1 day before your long trip to prechill the cooler. Then add your actual ice, food and drinks to get the most days out of your ice/ food.

Love this cooler!! It’s AWESOME!! Live in south Texas, my husband is a fence builderv/ we have properties we maintain with mowing shredding / tree work etc...we are out side everyday all year. Summer in Texas is HOT!! Almost unbearable at times..some times when working fences there is no escaping the hot sun bearing down on you...only refuge is to get to the truck for something cold to drink!! For years used inexspenvie coolers....ice would be gone by that 2:00 o’clock afternoon hour when you really needed that cold drink the most...so I really couldn’t bring myself to purchase a $500 cooler ..but needed to make a change!! Found this one / read the reviews .. liked the price and thought okay...let’s try it...PERFECT!!!! Everything about it!! We use our cooler everyday! Arrived days before it was scheduled to arrive...was so excited to give it a go....loaded it with drinks large bag of ice...at first ice melted some what because drinks were hot and it was 97 degrees that day with heat index over 100....and cooler was in the full sun all day..put another bag of ice that evening...drained a little water that morning and haven’t looked back since....once it started cooling it hasn’t stopped!!!! Ice last for days!!! Loved this cooler so much I order a second one for my truck!!! Can’t find one negative to say about this cooler!!! Holds ice great!!! Love the camo color!! One of the best features is the clasp that secure the lid!!! Easy and strong...unlike with other coolers with pulling down hard rubber straps.... We’ve had lots of compliments on this cooler. Plan on purchasing one to give as a Christmas gift. Buy it...you’ll be so happy you did!!

Have used for over a year and am very satisfied. Keeps contents cold for less cost than similar products. Well constructed and sturdy. Closes tightly and well. Carry straps are strong. Only drawback is it is very heavy, even when completely empty. Sturdy wheels would be a nice feature to add in future models.

Great cooler! Works like a Yeti, but 1/2 the price.

Took on 4 day car camping trip with my 2 boys. Used 3 large Yeti ice packs from REI and about 5 smaller ice packs I got at Target. Filled Xspec with soda cans, bacon, sausages, hamburgers, steaks, orange juice, etc. Stayed cold for all 4 days. Solid build. Exceeded my expectations. Was worth getting. Although not cheap, it is significantly less than a comparably sized Yeti cooler from REI.

Awesome cooler, keeps the cold for >3 days. We also added dryice and stayed frozen for days. And its very sturdy, i have the feeling it will last forever

UPDATE 4 years later(now Sept 2023, purchased August 2019) STILL an awesome cooler. Had a bar enter camp and tore through the tonto cover on my husbands pickup truck. Got the dry goods tote out and open but was NOT able to get in to this cooler! And we didn’t have padlocks on it but will in the future, just in case. HIGHLY recommend this cooler! Easy to use. Took on a 9 day road trip...only added a bit of ice once or twice. Cooler stayed in the backseat of car all 9 days. 9 hot days. We took advice from other reviewer and pre cooled the night before with our ice packs. Next day swapped out for ice and contents, including dairy coffee creamer. We purchased the wire basket that was suggested and used that for stuff we didnt want sitting in the ice. We emptied the water occasionally by just sliding off edge of seat and tipping a bit, pull plug (use decompression valve or open lid to break the vaccuum seal). This cooler was easy to carry, open and use. Even for me, with my long fingernails :)
