Despite saying set is for indoor use, can it be used outdoors?

It can. After I bit of hard playing, the hockey sticks broke in half, but they were still playable. The nets work anywhere. We got our son more sticks since he is so hard on them. The ball works better than a puck outside.

how long are the hockey sticks

The sticks are short,they would fit preschoolers and small kindergarteners. They are about three feet long and lightweight, but sturdy enough for checking.
