Fantastic Modern Aesthetics, Sturdiness. Minor Gripes.
Let me start by saying this desk is fantastic - the glass is high quality and sturdy, the design has a contemporary/modern feel, and it has a lot of space to work with. The box itself weighed around 80 lbs, and in my infinite wisdom, decided, "Hey I can bring this thing up several flights of stairs no problem." I took it out of my trunk (it's a big box) and I was headed towards the steps I fell and dropped the box. I was worried it would be broken. Ever determined, I spent the next 15 minutes hauling it up steps slowly and methodically. Opening it revealed a cornucopia of styrofoam. It was everywhere. I swept it aside so the cats wouldn't think it was a delicious treat. I started to pull the based out and everything was snug and undamaged. I finally got to the glass and was surprised that it had not looked like it even felt the impact of falling. It comes with screws and everything else you'll need except a screwdriver that I needed to put the keyboard tray in. It probably took around an hour all together to put this together. You can choose what side you want the extra shelf unit to be on, but you have to decide when putting it together as that is a specific base piece. It wasn't too difficult to assemble (I did have an extra pair of hands a couple of times which made it easier). I recommend not fully screwing all pieces in until you have them aligned properly, as it can shift and be slightly out of balance. It looks just like the picture when I was finished, very sturdy, beautiful to look at, and I am very happy with the purchase and the price. The one gripe I do have is more because of an OCD perfection stand point - while I took great pains to ensure the desk lined up perfectly, some of the glass is slightly askew (does not align perfectly on the left and right). It does not affect anything other than I notice it and wanted harmony on all sides. The other thing that constantly nags me is the keyboard tray functions just fine, but the right side does not go in all the way, somehow being ever-so-slightly farther out than the left. Minor gripes aside, for the price I couldn't ask for a better desk. It fits my personal preference of a modern style desk more than the large wood desks. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants an L shaped desk and is on the fence. Edit: Changed rating from 4 to 5 stars. My minor gripes were so minor I didn't feel it deserved to bring the score down. I absolutely love this desk.

Fantastic desk, cheap labels
True rating is 4.5 stars, but Amazon won't let you do half star ratings. I am pleased enough to round up. I got this desk on sale for a little over $100, and let me tell you, it feels like it is worth much more. At the time of writing this review, price is $145, which I still feel is a good value. I am very impressed. You will probably need someone to help you move the box when you receive it. Its heavy! The frame is sturdy but not too bulky, but the glass plates are very thick and heavy. Assembly was a breeze, taking only about 25 min. Make sure you decide which side you want the keyboard tray on before you start assembly and plan ahead. The instructions will have you install it on the side opposite the monitor stand. If you want the keyboard and monitor stand on the same side (as I did) you will need to read ahead a little bit and reverse the cross beam positions. The reason I would dock 1/2 a star is due to the very cheap labels used on glass table tops. They shredded instantly and left lots of paper and adhesive on the glass. It took another 15-20 min just to remove and clean up the glass. Luckily I had some leftover odorless mineral spirits from a previous painting project, and it made removing the leftover adhesive mush easier. But be prepared for a LOT of scraping. The little corner piece feels very sturdy and says it can hold up to 50 lbs, but I have my doubts. It is only held up by 4 screws. My plan was to put my new gaming PC on that shelf, but they can be pretty close to 50 lbs once you install everything. I couldn't help but be a little nervous. If you plan to put something heavy on that little shelf, here is what I finally came up with. I made my own adjustable table leg to hold up the outside rounded edge. All it took was a 1" diameter wooden dowel from the hardware store, a pack of self leveling threaded feet, some rubber furniture pads, and a can of black spray paint. (around $15 USD) Just install the leveling foot on one end and then measure so that the leg is about 1/4 to 1/2" lower than the bottom of the metal support. Then cut the dowel to length and spray paint. Install the rubber nub on the top for grip and so it won't scratch. Then just place under the desk and unscrew the leveling foot till its nice and snug under the desk and sharing the load! I'll attach some pictures later showing the setup. TLDR; I really like this desk and feel that it is a good value. It is attractive and sturdy. This definitely gets my recommendation!

Beautiful and Modern, Assembly Required
I've just recently acquired a new apartment lease, and wanted to furnish the place with some nice furniture. After window shopping around, I decided that I wanted to go with a glass theme, which meant that I needed to purchase a glass desk (I telecommute frequently). While I was initially skeptical about the quality of the product and flexibility of the design, I have to say that after assembling it and using it for a while, this desk was an excellent purchase. The first thing you will notice about this desk is that it is relatively easy to assemble; the only tool you will require is a screwdriver (I recommend a magnetic-tipped tool). The box is heavy, so unless you're quite strong be sure to bring some help. The instructions also require a second person to install, but I managed on my own. The arrangement of the desk can be altered in assembly: the "main" part of the desk (the section with the high shelf) can be either on the right or the left, which is a great touch, allowing you to really customize how you want the desk to sit in the space you have available. The finished product looks gorgeous, with the clear glass and small frames really giving the desk a modern, minimalistic look. The drawbacks I have with the desk really do not merit the loss of a star: the glass, while obviously of good quality, is held onto the frame by suction cups. If you have children or energetic pets, this could cause a problem and I would recommend glue or another alternative adhesive to attach the glass to the frame. Each piece of glass (5 total) also comes with some kind of warning sticker, which I felt was extremely unnecessary and served to only blemish the appearance (though any residue should come off if cleaned). All in all, I don't see how you could do better than this desk at this price point. If you need a desk to work at home and are looking for a beautiful modern appearance, this desk is for you. Edit - 9 months later and I'm still very happy with the desk. The piece of glass that my keyboard and monitors rest on has moved on occasion - due to the poor suction cups I mentioned - but otherwise has held up to abuse quite well. I still fully recommend this product.

Overall good, only minor quibbles
Since there are already several reviews here, I thought I'd just address some of the concerns that have been raised by others and add some observations/information of my own, broken down into sections in case you don't want to read it all. Here goes: - Styrofoam overload: Yep, styrofoam bits of all sizes will end up all over your floor, no way around it. Plan to vacuum afterward. - Dangerous fiberglass film on everything: Didn't have this issue on the desk I received - Glass not vertically flush with frame: The glass is NOT entirely flush with the metal frame elements that separate the main desk surfaces from the corner piece; the glass lies very slightly lower than the metal. This can be mitigated to some degree by pulling the frame crossbars up or down as you tighten the bolts, but can't be eliminated. That doesn't bug me too much even though I thought it would, but if you wanted to place things across panes, I suppose it might be an issue depending on the item. - Glass doesn't quite line up with frame: The corner piece of glass doesn't quite line up with the underlying frame. Either it's not cut at exactly 90 degrees, or some aspect of the frame isn't. I didn't use a protractor to troubleshoot and identify root cause, but no matter what I tried, the gap between the corner glass and the frame widens as the glass moves from the front (chair side) of the desk to the rear area. Not a dealbreaker, I guess that's just part of why a desk like this is so inexpensive. - Keyboard tray: Several great pieces of news here. First, it's not mentioned in the instructions, but it can be placed on the side that has the shelf; all you have to do is put the #4 bars where the diagram says to use #5 and vice versa. The keyboard tray is 25 inches off the ground, which is a PERFECT height for me based on how high my chair needs to be for my feet to comfortably reach the floor. Never thought I'd use a keyboard tray, but it's so much easier to keep my arms lower than raise them to type on a keyboard that's on a desk/table the way I have been forever. And lastly, the keyboard tray is wide enough for a full-size keyboard AND enough room to comfortably use a mouse as well rather than barely squeezing it on there. The only catch is that you'll need a smaller than normal mousepad because that space isn't THAT huge, and VERY few optical mice track work at all on glass; I have a "darkfield" optical mouse that's supposed to track on glass, but it doesn't work that well. Of course you could just keep the mouse on the main desk surface, but if the keyboard tray makes for perfect typing height, it will also be perfect mousing height, and you'll notice how much more convenient typing is than mousing if you don't have them on the surface. - Assembly: It can be done by one person (I did), but 2 definitely makes it easier. The instructions are very well done. And they mean it about not tightening the bolts until the very end, so don't. When you do tighten, as mentioned above there's a fair amount of leeway to pull the crossbars a bit up or down relative to the frame as you tighten, which you'll want to experiment with to make sure panes of glass are level side to side, front to back, with respect to their adjacent pane. Once it's together it feels surprisingly sturdy. Overall I'm mostly happy, hence the 4 star review. 5 stars would have required better fit and finish with respect to glass, a little less height flexibility on the frame pieces so I didn't have to experiment to get everything level, and ideally a better packing job that didn't leave a bunch of styrofoam all over the floor.

Awesome desk for the price and the space!
If you don't want to read my long review, then I'll put my final conclusion right here at the very top: THIS DESK IS PURE AWESOMENESS! Because the amount of pros outweigh the cons, I'll go ahead and list the latter here first because I'm sure a lot of potential buyers are curious as to what isn't good about this desk. FYI: For users determining the actual space needed for this desk, simply grab a measuring stick and from the corner of the wall measure out 62 inches for both directions. It is not 60 inches as suggested by the manufacturer. Cons: --------------- 1. The glass smudges very easily. I haven't really owned glass desks before as I usually went with wood so this issue might be common to all glass type desks. You will definitely see your fingerprints and other smudges on the glass at certain angles. 2. For some odd reason, the manufacturer decided it was a good idea to place hard-to-remove caution stickers on each piece of the glasses. Currently I haven't removed them yet because it's those type where if you peel it too fast or at the wrong angle, you'll need to get out the nail polish remover. 3. I notice that this desk seems to collect more dust on the glasses than on my previous wooden desks. Although my room is pretty dusty due to our location, swiping my hand across my wooden desk didn't produce dust particles on my hand like this desk did. It's weird. Swiping my hand across this desk I immediately can tell that its dusty. Pros: --------------- 1. Shipping: As with all large items of this nature, especially where fragile glasses are involved, I'm sure everyone worries about how the product is protected during shipping. For my case, not one piece of equipment was damaged. There were no dents or scratches on any items. The manufacturer did an excellent job and packing the items. Every single piece was heavily protected with either cardboard pieces or those white foamy things. The bad news is that when you are unpacking this, be prepared to have a giant mess on your hand! My advice is to clear out as big an empty space as you can so that cleanup will be a lot easier afterwards. From my FedEx showed, the product weight is around 150lbs. 2. Ease of construction: This desk is extremely easy to put together except for maybe one part and that is when you have to attach the center piece to the two desks. As long as you can follow the instructions from the manual and not try to impress the ladies by "winging it", you'll be fine. There's really only a couple of pieces that needs to be screwed together. For the majority of the setup, you might be able to get away with building it yourself. I actually used my feet to hold pieces together while screwing the nails and everything came out alright. There is only one part where you might need help with and that is when you attach the center piece to the two actual tables. It will be much, much easier if you can find someone to hold that center piece for you. Other than that, my advice is to put the desk in the actual place where you will want it to be during the setup so that you won't have to move the entire unit afterwards. FYI: The heaviest pieces are actually the glass pieces and so depending on your age and strength, you might need a second person to help you out when lifting and setting it down on the suction cups. 3. Quality: This desk is sturdy and definitely doesn't feel cheap at all. The two large desk pieces can hold around 120lbs each. The keyboard piece is around 25lbs. The upper shelf is about 60lbs and the center piece is around 50lbs. This should suffice for the majority of users. There's nothing really much else to add. This baby is stable. 4. Comfort: Some users might not like the fact that there is no covering behind the desk. This means that you'll need to get creative in how you manage your cables. I actually prefer this design choice because it gives me more leg room underneath. I actually can rest my leg on the support beam for extra comfort. Although this desk has a lot of surface area, the desk itself is pretty low in height. I'm only 5'6 and so I can't complain too much but I can definitely see how someone much bigger than me might have a harder time adjusting to this desk. As it stands, the distance from the ground to the keyboard tray is only 24 inches. 5. Pricing: Living in Hawaii, it's extremely hard to find a variety of products or if there is, they are marked up higher than usual. I went all over and while I found some that resembled this desk, they were nearly double of what I had to pay here on Amazon. I bought this desk for $159 and at the moment of writing this review, it jumped up to $199. While you could find similar types of desk for cheaper, I wanted to get this model because of the extra upper shelf area. Rather than a plain ol' flat desk, the upper shelf gives it a much more dynamic look and more importantly, allows you to get more creative in how you place your items! All in all, I am extremely satisfied with this desk. It really gives the most bang for the buck. It looks very modern and you'll have a lot of space area to work with. The main problem I see someone having with this desk is due to their physical size as I mentioned earlier. If you guys and gals have any questions about this desk, feel free to post a comment and I'll try to get back to you ASAP.

Easy assembly, sturdy, nice look, But have rubbing alcohol handy.
Received the desk yesterday and was able to set it up within 30-40 minutes without a second person. It was a miracle none of the glass pieces were broken with how beat up the box was. Despite the tough journey, the box had all the pieces in tact and in good shape. Other than the building components, there were three different instructional manuals and an Allen wrench included. Keep track of that little wrench because it’s basically the only tool you’ll need to put this desk together. Although most of the assembly was a breeze the keyboard tray was the only part that caused me some grief. Make sure you have a good screwdriver handy (maybe one with a magnetic tip) because you’ll be on your back while you put the wood screws into the keyboard tray. I had to give them a lot of tough love to get them snug and secured. Although it’s not a big deal, be prepared to spend some time cleaning those stickers off the glass pieces. I tried a couple of techniques but those stickers were stubborn and left not just residue but little pieces of paper behind. So have a fun time scraping the bits off and scrubbing down the residue with rubbing alcohol because I sure spent a good chunk of time on it. Overall really nice desk, especially for the price. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for something modern, minimal, and spacious. I was able to fit my pc, cintiq 24 pro, and peripheral items with room to spare.

Instead I got an extremely sturdy, large
For a little over $100, I was expecting a wobbly, small, cheaply made desk from China. Instead I got an extremely sturdy, large, professional-ish looking desk from China. Important notes: 1. During initial construction, you can easily re-arrange the different pieces. I have both the monitor stand and the keyboard stand together on the right side. 2. The keyboard stand isn't as wide or as deep as I would like for videogaming purposes. For office work, it's just perfect. I could not fit my mouse holder (it has another name, but the thing that keeps the mouse cord elevated on springs) underneath the keyboard spot. I remedied this by putting the mouse cord holder on the actual desk and having it drop down onto the keyboard pullout. 3. Make sure when you're building it that you open it from the top side. The glass is all on the bottom of the box, but you won't need the glass until the FINAL step of assembly. The Good: 1. Desk is very sturdy, fully level, no visible defects. 2. Desk is larger than the "similar models" available on Amazon. I was strongly considering buying a smaller, but dark-tinted glass desk, but now I'm very glad I went with this one. I'm 6'2" living in SoCal and I do a lot of squats / dead lifts at the gym, so I have big legs, and my legs can still fit fine underneath the keyboard section. 3. I built it by myself in less than an hour. It says you need a second person.. you don't as long as you're clever and rest the piece on the other piece (you'll know it when you get there). Just MAKE SURE that you DO NOT tighten all the bolts fully until you've completed the desk. 4. It looks exactly like what you see. Only thing that isn't visible is that there are a few suction cups in the corners to keep the glass down.. and they can look a bit weird when looking at them. not really an issue though. The bad: 1. The desk has no cord management. This wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't clear, but unless you meticulously organize all the cords yourself with 3rd party products it might not look professional. 2. I would never trust a mover to move this desk. The glass is held in place by suction cups. If you move, you'd have to break it down and build it back up at the new location. 3. The pieces that screw into the bottom that the desk sit on are the only plastic pieces in the construction, and they look like they could really scratch up my floor. Easily remedied though by felt stickers. All in, five out of five stars. Looks and feels like a much more expensive desk. Very happy with purchase. Note: this is a 100% genuine review. I was NOT paid in any way for this review, and I definitely paid for this product with my own money, and I hate the reviewers who are throwing off all the star ratings on foreign products by writing biased reviews. This is not one of those reviews. Screw those guys.

Another No hassle No worry purchase. Perfect Desk!
Initially with days of research, I ordered a desk like this from Staples, but canceled the order (15min after purchase) because delivery date was 4 weeks out. I then ordered this one from Amazon, and with Prime, I know delivery is guaranteed in 2 days, which is fantastic, This desk arrived on time, early, before noon. the box was heavy, good sized, solid, 2 people to push it into the room. I was worried maybe the glass or some of the glass might be broken because of the weight, some tears in the box, and it was delivered UPS and no way could one guy handle this box unless he was huge and had a dolly. I carefully opened it to inspect glass just in case It needed to be shipped back. but the glass was so well packed and boxed that it was perfect (or could have been perfect if the caution stickers on the glass were less sticky and easier to get off) Everything was perfect everything included and well thought out, there were no problems at all. After construction which was very easy, I was so happy with how sturdy and great looking it was. So, remember I said I canceled the Staples order, and waiting for my refund and calling them and getting the run around, well, you guessed it, they sent it anyways and tell me that when they get it back then ill get my money back. who waits 6 weeks for a refund? So, out on my porch was this rinkydink box and yes it was the Lshape desk ordered from Staples. I was never so happy that I made the right choice ordering from Amazon when seeing the box it was 4X smaller than the ZLineBox! It fit under my arm! This is my second Lshaped desk ive ordered for my children, and I am totally sold on this one. Its classy, and i cant say enough, except I am very happy and my son is so happy and loves his room even more! Another reason I know I made the right choice is that if I did have to return this, I know I would NEVER have any problem with Amazon or problems with receiving my money back. With Staples, LDesk I am still fighting to get my money back and getting the run around.
