I recently started taking Nutrex Hawaii BioAstin Hawaiian Astaxanthin 12mg, so it's still too early for me to comment on the long-term results. However, I wanted to share my initial impressions. Me and my wife have been taking this product for over 1 year now. The benefits have been different for both of us. The benefits for my wife have been more significant than for me. First, it does help protect you from sun burns and sun damage. I have also noticed a significant improvement in body aches and specifically in my back. I exercise a lot and over the last year, my back pain has been reduced by about 80%. I still feel some shoulder pain, but in general there is a substantial improvement. I have not noticed any improvement with vision and I don't know if I am getting any benefits from the antioxidant properties, but I assume that I am receiving these benefits. Now for my wife, the benefits for her are much more pronounced. She was very skeptical about taking this supplement, but she is fair skinned and always gets sun burned very easily. I can spend all day out in the sun and I come back in with darker skin. She can spend 20 minutes in the sun and she turns into a lobster (sub burned). I told her about the proposed benefits from the sun and said she should try it to see if it works. So we both started taking this about 1 year ago. The effects are not immediate, it takes about 30 to 60 days before you start to notice. First we both noticed that our skin tone was more peach looking, not a huge benefit, but definitely healthier looking. About 90 days after use, my wife started noticing that the sun spots / age spots on her face started to fade. She thought that she was imagining this. After about 3 months, my wife mentioned to me that her freckles / sun spots were almost gone. At that time I told her that this was one of the potential benefits of the Astaxanthin. By the 4th month, my wife's face was clear of age spots. She was absolutely amazed. I was kind of blown away also because the effect was absolutely visible. We know this effect is due to the Astaxanthin for the following reasons. We initially started taking the 4 mg per day. After 30 days, I started purchasing the 12mg product because I read that the benefits were more noticeable. We took 12mg for 4 months, but then I felt it was too expensive so I started purchasing the 4 mg product again. After switching back to the 4mg lower dose, my wife noticed that her age spots had started to come back, not completely, but just started to become visible again. So, she decided to increase her dosage of the Astaxanthin. She increased her dosage by taking 4mg, and then 8mg every other day. So on average 6mg a day. At this dosage her age spots / sun spots are gone. I take 4 mg per day and this seems to work for me. The important factor for Astaxanthin to work is that you must use it consistently with a high quality fish oil. I have been taking fish oil supplements for 10 years, now my wife now takes fish oils and Astaxanthin daily. At this time, my wife will not allow us to run out of Astaxanthin. Astaxanthin is one of the daily supplements that we take. It seems like everyone gets different benefits and my wife just happened to hit the jackpot and gets a huge benefit because of her skin type. I have not noticed any blemishes on myself that have faded, but then again I have skin type that rarely ever burns. I just turn brown. I take the Astaxanthin for the joint relief that it provides to me. Hopefully this is helpful.

I've been taking BioAstin for 3 weeks now and have noticed marked improvements in many areas. I take two capsules at lunch time (or with whatever meal has the highgest fat content *this is important as it is a fat soluable supplement*). It will take around 2 weeks before you really notice the benefits - so don't get disappointed if you don't see results right away - just be patient. JOINTS: The first thing I noticed after about 10-12 days was a great improvement in joint & muscle pain and the 'snap, crackle, pop' sounds in the mornings. I run and work out at leat 5 days a week, so my joints take a beating - BioAstin is helping greatly in this area. I wake up feeling much more mobile and refreshed rather than stiff and achy after an intense workout. SKIN: Like many others have noted, I also have seen a wonderful change in skin tone and color. I have a nice rosy glow to my skin as well as a more 'dewy' appearance. I have always had skin on the drier side of the spectrum and since taking BioAstin it seems more supple and nourished. I also have some freckles and sun spots which appear to blend into my skin more and are not so prominent. I have yet to test this products sunblocking abilities, but look forward to seeing what happens this summer. ENERGY: I have a pretty thorough vitamin regimen consisting of about 10 supplements (it's a lot, I know!). In this routine I take: Nature's Bounty Sublingual Vitamin B-12 2500 Mcg with Cherry Flavor - 250 Microlozenges , Nature's Way Alive! Multivitamin/Multimineral, Women's Energy, Tablets, 50 ct. , Vitamin E, Schiff Mega D3, 90-Count , Garlic, L-Lysine, NOW Foods Chlorella 1000mg, 120 Tablets , Feosol Ferrous Sulfate Iron Supplement Therapy, Tablets - 125 ea (Pack of 2) and sometimes I take Zinc when needed... and now BioAstin (I have a history of anemia and low B12/Vitamin D which is why I take what I do). I tell you all of this to say that I've already noticed a huge improvement in my energy level before taking BioAstin and I'm not sure I've seen any significant boost since taking it. I have, however, noticed that I have greater endurance in running and cardio exercise since taking this. For example, I don't ever feel more 'energized' when I take this, but once I am doing something strenuous I feel i can continue for a longer period of time. I believe this is all relative to your body's make-up and what you're currently putting in. MOOD: I have felt an over-all feeling of relaxation and find myself more often than not to be in good spirits. Maybe this is a placebo effect? Whatever it is, it's a good thing and I'm happy to chalk it up to BioAstin. I look forward to seeing what benefits continue to come from long-term use of this supplement. All in all I am extremely satisfied and will continue to use this as part of my daily routine.

I’ve tried cheaper brands that were made in the UK. They worked well; completely changed my skin. I saw these, and although they are more expensive than the other brand I was using, they are made in Hawaii. They work just as well if not better. I think the quality is better. You just get less for your money. I prefer to buy US made products and these work! Less fine lines, clearer skin with just 1 pill a day. I take one at night with a tablespoon of olive oil.

I've been taking this for over a year and feel it does have some real benefits. I am a sun-avoider and wear sunscreen religiously, but several people have asked me if I've been tanning because my skin looks a little bit tan and is glowing. I have also noticed that if I even have a slight cold is coming on, it clears up within a day, and I haven't become ill even when people around me have had terrible colds. I do also feel like my vision and brain are a little clearer. I feel more at the top of my game than I've felt for a long time (I'm 62). I still have some joint aches, but they seem slightly better than they used to be. The pills are small and easy to swallow, the dosage seems right, and I haven't had any trouble swallowing them. This product, as others have noted, turns your skin brown-orange. It is not a lovely summer tan. Also, if you have been trying to reduce the appearance of indigenous brown spots in your skin, forget it. This product accentuates them and brings them back. I have not observed any other effects that could be attributed to the advertised advantages. of oxidation. So, I would not buy this again.

I received the product on the 25th of November and i used it couple of days ago when i open the cap the seal was open and the pills was all stuck to each other that I couldn’t use any of it .

I have only been taking this product for a couple of weeks and already I have noticed slight improvement in my eyesight. Maybe it's too soon as yet to give a full report on it's full beneficial effects so I will continue to take it. It most certainly looks very promising

So far , so very good . Assuming this is not a placebo effect, I've noticed positive changes. I do work out a lot, for my age ( 59 ), and recently I was occasionally using a supplement powder, dissolved in water. i felt that this was good, but probably has side-effects ,and certainly would not compete in all the other areas that this product boasts. simply. I've noticed a dramatic benefit in my recovery rate,after exercise, both in the gym and pool. I've even noticed a change in my mood. I seem to feel generally more relaxed and positive. It's only been about two weeks since first trying BioAstin, but already I'm sure I will continue to use it.

Product arrived as described. Been taking this product for 4 weeks now, and started to notice improvements after just 2 days. In my late 40’s I wad suffering Osteoarthritis in my left knee from an old sports injury and Arthritis in my all finger and toe joints. Prior to taking the product, my arthritic discomfort was increasing and I walked in pain every day for months which led me to desperately search for a product to help. After 2-4 days I noticed inflammation in my finger joints were significantly reduced and I was no longer walking with pain. Now 4 weeks in, my arthritis is no longer noticeable with no inflammation in my finger joints and I’m walking without pain, my general skin condition is improved, and while it could be coincidence, I’m no longer needing to wear my multifocal glasses as much as I have been. Arthritis was the main reason I tried this product and I’m so impressed with outcome and all the positive health benefits stated in research articles, I will continue to use it and have recommended to others suffering the same to give it a go after checking with their doctor.
