Art Since 1940 (3rd Edition)

This was a required textbook. The author clearly states that he picks and chooses according to his own preferences, but the illustrated examples support his arguments and premises. More recent art examples are unavailable from this mildly dated text - perhaps a new edition is on the way?

A great book if you really want to understand modern Art – and I mean really understand it. This explains it in an interesting way and in simple terms, yet with enough complexity to satisfy art historians

This was the text book for my contemporary art class, but I've decided to add the book to my personal collection!

Art textbooks are ridiculously dull. Look up the same information on a museum website, or artist interviews, and save yourself money.

This was my textbook for History of Modern art. Lots of pictures, easy to read and organized. I liked this book just fine, my professor disliked this book mostly because it didn't have much about women artists or West coast artists so she supplemented that.

Very text heavy and uninformative. Full of author opinions, and uses black and white photos of original artworks, making it hard to analyze and appreciate fully.

The book described as "new" and its price unbeatable, the temptation was impossible to resist. Unfortunately, it was not in good shape (hence the offer). E.g. the back cover is badly damaged and the second half of the book is annoyingly folded at the corner, I only realized to what extent once I started to study that part. The seller should have been more transparent and leave the choice of the quality/price tradeoff to the customer.

Fast delivery as scheduled. Great service! Book was a bit more worn out than described but ok for studying. A bunch of pages have highlighter marks, it seems from different previous owners using different colour highlighters. No big deal, just didn't expect that this was not indicated in description. Price should reflect this but I need the book for my course so I cannot not send back. It's fine over all.
