Tremendous for the price
Well constructed and lightweight, really good looking watch and very functional. I do business with people all over the world and need a quick and easy way to remember whay time it is in their part of the world. I've always loved the vintage Casio world time map graphic, that was way ahead of its time back in the 80s and it is still one of the simplest and best iterations of the world time concept. Watch has reasonably good water resistance, chronometer, timer, and 5 alarms. You can't find a better $30 watch anywhere!

Reliable, Low-Cost, Functional, Comfortable, What Else?
This is an amazing watch. I used the same watch for 15 years and in 2025 I bought it again after the older one was damaged due to some aggressive chemical. I live in the East Coast of the US and I have friends and family in different parts of Europe. I regularly check the time over there. I use the timer for when I am brushing my teeth. I use the stopwatch when I brew coffee. I use the alarms for my daily short walks and to wake up. I had to remove two sections of the strap to make it a good fit for my wrist. You may need to do that as well. All around it is just an excellent watch. Casio is of course amazing with quality. I would recommend it to anyone. I know smart watches are getting more and more common but trust me, one less device to charge regularly is a better improvement in your life than anything else.

A cool traveler's watch, but: Casio, please stop photoshopping your product images.
I'm a backpacker trekking the globe several times a year. I wanted to get an economically priced sports watch that would help me with a few things: Alarm - so I don't miss flights in foreign countries Local time - for whichever country I'm in Multiple global time zones - for when hopping from one country to another Water resistance - for those lazy, or sporty, days in tropical waters Low price point - so if I get mugged as I did in Bogota, it wouldn't totally ruin my day. I did the usual searches on Amazon: sports watch, travel watch, etc. Did not see this watch, and almost bought another watch that I did not quite like. And then this one appeared under a "People who looked at this, also looked at these" suggestion. Bam. Exactly what I wanted. Now that I've received the watch, I tried doing a search for this watch to help other readers in their searches. If you do: Watches > Sport Watches > Casio > Prime Eligible > Under $50 It'll appear as #73 (today) ! And that's just looking at Casios. Forget about if you were looking at the entire database of sports watches under $50. It does all the things laid out in my objectives. The alarm can be a daily alarm or a one-time alarm. I like that, since the one time alarm will disable itself. Cool features: 1. You can set the LOCAL time for your country/city (or wherever you happen to be) under T-1. Then you can choose to store 3 other cities/countries, and it will automatically show the time for those selections saved under T-2, T-3 and T-4. The watch can show the current time in 48 cities (31 time zones) around the world, and you can easily scroll through all the zones and set any city as T1, T2, T3, T4. For example, I live in California and will be traveling to Asia in a few days, and have currently set LA as my T-1. I have chosen Hongkong, Bangkok, and Delhi as my T2-4, and it automatically shows me the time for those cities by pressing a button. Time zones are calculated on the UTC format - Universal Time Coordinated - so you'll always have the right world time anywhere. Time Swapping: When I get to HongKong, I'll make it my T1 because I want to be on local time (simply by first selecting T2 which is my current HongKong setting, and then pressing 2 buttons simultaneously to convert HongKong to T1. It then makes LA my T2. You get the drift). Similarly, when I'm in Thailand, I'll make BKK (Bangkok time zone) my T1. The map is cool, as it shades the time zone you are viewing. 2. The digital display shows you the time, day and date. The analog display (circle) shows the time as if in an analog watch. 3. It has the usual sports watch features: stopwatch, countdown timer. I would have given the watch 5 stars if: 1. It had looked even cooler: they should have made the face (or base background) white instead of gray. Then things would have stood out more, and the watch would have looked classier as well. The picture makes the face look bright and almost bluish white. Far from it! It's a dull, boring gray. When in a room with the shades shut during the day, it can be hard to read the time since the black digits are hard to see against the dark background. Casio, please stop photoshopping your product images. 2. The analog hands in the little analog cirlce were not black. They are and they blend in with the '+' sign that delineates the quadrants, when at the 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions. They should have made the hands red or something. Go for broke...colors should pop. Conclusion: Overall, a cool, and light, traveler's watch for only $24, but with a gray face color. Or go with some nice ones in the $40-60 range.

Reliable Everyday Digital Watch โ Great Value!
Iโve been using the Casio AE1000W for months and itโs exceeded my expectations. Itโs simple, reliable, and packed with useful features for the price. The 10-year battery life means no frequent battery changes, and the world time function with 48 cities is great for travel or tracking time in different zones. The display is clear and easy to read, and the 100 m water resistance lets me wear it while swimming and in rainy weather without worry. It also has a stopwatch, countdown timer, and five alarms โ all easy to set and use. The design is straightforward and functional, not flashy, but perfect for daily wear. The resin band and case keep it lightweight and comfortable on the wrist. If you want a dependable digital watch that does exactly what itโs supposed to โ at a budget-friendly price โ this Casio is hard to beat!

Great inexpensive watch to have if you're visting multiple time zones
The TLDR version is as the title says, this is a great cheap and sturdy watch to have if you're traversing multiple time zones. On the main screen the watch stores four time zones denoted T-1 through T-4 that you can cycle through by pressing the bottom right button. If you change the watch mode (i.e. to alarm setting, stopwatch, timer, etc.) and cycle back to the main screen (using the buttom left mode button) you will get the T-1 time again. You can switch any of the other T-zones to T-1 by pressing the top left and top right buttons simultaneously. This is especially relevant for the alarm setting, as the alarm rings based on whatever the current T-1 time is. There are some minor nitpicks, one is the last of a true "illuminator" as others have pointed out; the watch light is an old-school yellow lamp on the upper right corner of the watch rather than a blue backlighting. The time zone map and the digital dial on the upper left and right respectively are entirely aesthetic and serve little if any useful purpose; in the case of the map it's really too small to be useful but it's irrelevant since you'll probably be setting time zones on the watch based on a city/airport abbreviation, while for the dial it's redundant at best given that this is a digital watch and not an analog one. Also in my case the white text at the top and buttom of the watch ("world time" on top and "illuminator" on the bottom) completely wore off after about a month of use. I've just got black plastic in those areas now on my watch. Overall though I like this watch for the price and functionality. It's pretty scratch resistant so far too, I'm pretty cheap and usually go for $5 watches sold on the street that tend to get scratched up really easily when they get brushed against a hard surface like a sink faucet or a doorknob, but this watch has been taking the knocks without any visible scratches.

Great Watch For the Money
I have been purchasing Casio watch products for over 25 years now. Their watches are low cost and nicely designed. I was not let down when I received this watch and all for 18 dollars. The watch is nice looking, has mostly usable features which fulfills its purpose. For a watch that costs under 20 dollars this is a great knock-around piece that can be worn in any setting. Whether hiking/climbing in the woods, fixing the car, swimming or just plain rough housing with my kids, having a low cost and functional watch that fits all my needs really makes this product a great buy. This Casio comes with several functions: 1) You can track up to 4 different time zones. Since I do a fair amount of business travel (about 1x a month), I am constantly in different time zones. Now I can set them easily. 2) The watch has a manual DST setting which I don't mind. It's literally a push of a button. 3) It is water resistant to 10 Bar. This means swimmers, surfers, etc... can use this watch with confidence. 4) It comes with a typical alarm. I always make sure I know how to turn this off, because you know somehow some 2 or 3 year old will get it and find a way to turn on the alarm so that it wakes you and 0200 in the morning. 5) Stop watch. Not much to say here. I use it for running/walking Cons: A couple of oddball design features that are difficult to see. 1) The upper right hand circle is actually a visual of an analogue watch, so that if you look at another time zone besides the one that you set for your home city, you can get a quick view of the time. Not so easy to see. 2) The time zone characterization is also difficult to see and not so sure it is necessary, since the back of the directions lists out the cities you can use to select the proper time zones. So this may not be a "smart" watch which seems to be very popular these days, but I will say the price makes it very worth while. If you need a knock-around that looks nice and has the core functions you need, I think you will be very satisfied with this product. You know... maybe some things don't need to be smart. Enjoy!

Great watch for a great price
Inexpensive (not the same as cheap), comfortable, relevant information handy, large display, backlight...for someone who travels a lot, this watch has everything I really need. Besides my passport, the Casio AE1000W is a vital travel item. I would feel naked without it. No regrets so far!

The little watch that tried...and almost succeeded.
The main problem with this watch for me is it tries to do too much and relies heavily on the user. With Day light Savings time not being universal in when it starts, when it ends, and which countries decide to use it, it is a lot of work for some functions Day Light Savings time really hurts this watch and what it tries to do. This Casio watch is priced right and pleasant to look at. It has four main functions\modes. 1 Timekeeping 2 World Time 3 Stop watch 4 Alarm I'll focus on the first 2 as this is where it shines and falls short for me. In TIME KEEPING mode --Works Great You can set 4 different times and tab through them with the bottom right button. This is very useful and quite easy to set up. Upon setting up your local time the next three will be based off that and you only need to set Day Light Savings time on or off accordingly. This is easy to maintain and the world map reflects the time zone you are currently in. In WORLD TIME mode you can quickly tab through over 40 cities around the globe. This is where the watch falls short. You need to set each city depending on their Day Light Savings time. Some cities do not use DST, some start in the middle of March, Some start at end of March, ect.. If you do not mind doing this for each city in WORLD TIME which will require you to look up each of their DST information then this is a nice function. I'm not at all interested in doing this. This is a function an atomic watch would excel at but a manual setting watch it's not worth the effort The rest of the features are more than gimmicks. The world map is functional, especially if you set the DST for each of the cities in WORLD TIME. The analog dial always shows your current time no matter what mode you are in or which of the 4 cities you are on in TIME KEEPING mode. The light is unbalanced but sufficient to light the entire dial. You can change it to 3 seconds from it's factory 1.5 seconds which makes it much more useful. If you want this watch to keep track the current time in four cities it is very easy to set up and works quite well.
