Nice views!
For those of you who have purchased a telescope and are looking to upgrade your eyepieces, this Baader Hyperion is a good choice. This eyepiece, though large, works very well in my 6" Nexstar telescope. The previous eyepieces that I have owned actually work fairly well but the 68 degree field of view of this lens gives the impression of looking through a more expansive window where the other eyepieces that I own gave the impression that I was looking through a soda-straw. The lens is well-corrected and offers good eye-relief for those of you who wear glasses. These eyepieces are convertable with the addition of a spacer that will make this unit become a 13mm focal length lens. For those of us on a budget and who don't mind fiddling a little bit, this can be a cost saving feature. The eyepiece has a nice "color" to it. By that I mean that it doesn't seem biased towards blue or yellow, like some eyepieces are. The Baader Planetarium series are well built and reasonably priced.

Love it so far
This is a huge step up from the basic ploski lenses that you get with a telescope. It provides more than enough relief for me to be able to keep my glasses on while still seeing objects clearly. I did not notice distortion near the edges of the field. I did not like pairing it with a Barlow lens because the eye relief was almost as bad as the ploski lenses again. Also be aware that it is huge, and considerably heavier than the ploski lenses that come with your telescope.

Sharp, Solidly built all around eyepiece.
I am new to owning telescopes and eyepieces, so I don't have alot of money to buy an assortment of eyepieces. So after researching for awhile decided the Baader system will be best, as you can change the focal length by adding or removing spacers. This eyepiece turned my 4.5inch reflector into a much more enjoyable tool, everything looks sharper, it's easier to look through and manually track subjects.

Great eyepiece.
Great eyepiece. Baader Planetarium's Hyperion eyepieces are arguably the best bang for the buck in wide field telescope eyepieces. At more than half the price of premium Televue eyepieces with similar fields of view, there is not a noticeable different in performance.

Baader RULES!!
This is my 4th BAADER Hyperion eye piece and I love all of them. The wide fov and clarity they produce is simply amazing. They are pricey, but well worth if if you are an avvid amateur astronomer.

I Obviously Hate Baader
With the receipt this week of the 21mm, I now have the 1.25" set. Of all the Hyperion series, I tend to use the 17mm the most. I use them currently with an f6 Newtonian and an f7.5 refractor. Strengths: Superb coatings. I suspect high end series eyepieces by Zeiss and Takahashi might beat these in overall light transmission, but not by much. Not only do the Hyperions edge out the Orion near twin Stratus series by a slim margin, they beat the Televue Radians handily. Comfortable viewing. Yes, every eyepiece in the series can be used wearing glasses. The eyecup is a bit fiddly being raised or lowered, but for showing people the sky, these eyepieces are a boon, handling glasses wearers and non-glasses wearers alike. Versatile. They all fit 1.25" and 2" focusers. They fit my 2" star diagonal without striking the mirror. They are threaded for standard filters at the bottom end and have two different thread sizes at the top end for use in various kinds of eyepiece projection setups. You can unscrew the built-in Barlow and add extension rings to vary the magnification, or you can simply use the eyepiece without the Barlow as a 2" eyepiece. The constant screwing and unscrewing can get quite fiddly, and a bit dangerous in the dark. Removing the Barlow degrades the edge performance quite a bit. Weakness: Edge sharpness. None of these eyepieces are sharp to the edge of the field, though the 17mm is one of the better in the series. The shorter the f-ratio, the worse the performance. I would not buy these for telescopes below f6. Conclusion: I find the 17mm also hits a focal length sweet spot. At f6 and f7.5 it is a very good open cluster eyepiece. It darkens the sky enough to make the stars pop out, while maintaining a wide field. At f10, the 17mm is good for smaller clusters and brighter globulars. So, all-in-all recommended, and a bargain for scopes f6 and above.

Impresionante Ocular.
