My vet recommended this when I adopted a new dog. I now use it religiously on both my dogs and have seen such a big difference. My now two year old dog has no plaque on his teeth. My senior dog, who is the incredibly picky eater, eats his dinner with no problem! When I go a week or so without using it I see a huge difference in their breath. It’s worth every penny.

I started using ProDen PlaqueOff for my dog as a preventive dental care supplement. She is only 1 year and 5 months old and already has naturally fresh breath, but I wanted something to help maintain her oral health long-term. The powder is very easy to mix into her food, and she eats it without noticing it at all. It’s convenient, requires no brushing, and fits easily into her daily routine. I also like that a small amount goes a long way, so the container lasts a while. Overall, it’s a simple way to support ongoing dental health and keep her teeth and breath in good condition as she grows.

This stuff isn't gonna work miracles as a substitute for actually getting your dog to chew their food and use their teeth, but it is a noticeable improvement to their plaque and breath even so. It's an addition to help their teeth, but it's not a substitute, if that makes sense. My dogs hate teeth brushing; I got them older and they hadn't had it before. So I use this, dental chews, and other lick things with fluoride in them to keep their teeth in as good of shape as I can manage. At the end of the day, convincing your pet to slow down and chew their food is the best bet to healthy teeth, and slow feeders are good for that, and dental chews, but I have two labradors, who see food and immediately lose all reason, so other stuff like this tarter stuff is needed. It does help, but it's not going to replace the need for being mindful of your pet's teeth. It does have a strange smell. My dogs don't mind it mixed into their food, but they're labs, and that breed eats anything. A picky eater might be wary. My biggest complaint though, and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5, is the container itself. Its so tall and narrow-- smaller than the photo makes it look-- that it's hard to get the stuff out once you're halfway through the thing. I ended up buying another container to just dump the stuff into, but it sucks to have to do that when I'm already paying 20+ dollars for a pretty small thing.

We started using this plaque powder daily starting July 1st and today is August 12. The bad breath causing plaque is literally breaking down out of our cats mouth and what a difference it has made. It works - just be patient and consistent

When I took one of my cats in for a routine check-up, the vet mentioned that they could use a dental cleaning because of plaque build up on their teeth. I told the vet I have tried brushing their teeth in the past, but had difficulties with it, which is true. My cat is very petite, so her small mouth his difficult to work with when trying to use a tooth brush on her, even when using the smallest pet tooth brush I can find. So the vet recommended this product. Orered it here on Amazon and gave it a try. I have another cat who I decided to give this to as well. They both ate the dry food with the powder just fine. but then the vomiting started. I didn't blame it on the Plaque off immediately, because the vomiting wasn't consistent. For both cats, they didn't vomit instantly after eating the food with the plaque off. But for one of my cats, the vomiting was a big concern, because she has a history of IBD. She hadn't had a relapse of it in over a year, and was on an even stricter diet since her last IBD relapse. SO I was very confused. It made no sense that she'd have a relapse now when her current diet had been working well for her IBD. but then one day, she threw up her dry food immediately after eating it. Luckily, she already had a vet appointment scheduled that day to get a re-check on an ear infection she had. SO I called the vet and asked for bloodwork to be done. Blood test results came back totally normal. She hadn't had bloodwork done in over a year, so it wasn't a huge waste, but it was still almost $200 to get that done. My vet said to stop giving her the plaque off. No more vomiting after that. I also stopped giving it to my other cat. He had been throwing up sometimes soon after eating. But he often throws up from eating too fast, so I didn't immediately blame it on the plaque off. But once I stopped giving him the plaque off, the vomiting stopped. He'll still sometime throw up after eating too fast, but when he was eating his food with the plaque off, it happened much more. So in conclusion, despite being made out of only seaweed, this product did not help my cats at all and just caused them to vomit. my IBD cat still needs a dental cleaning, but I'll just have to go back to trying to use a toothbrush instead until I can afford to bit the bullet and do a full dental cleaning at the vet

I ordered this product with three dogs between 50 and 90 pounds. I was therefore somewhat disheartened to open the package to find a VERY tiny bottle. It's a little larger than, say, a bottle of Allegra or one of the smaller size bottles that Tylenol/Advil etc come in. Well, that won't even last three days, says I. Inside is a TINY blue scoop about the size of a pinky nail with instructions that for large dogs the size o'mine, they require only three scoops per day. So it actually lasted longer than I initially THOUGHT it would (a little less than three weeks). And surprisingly, it actually did affect their teeth for the better...they're not insanely white teeth, but there is somewhat less tartar and breath decidedly improved. Perhaps more progress can be seen over time? However, I cannot afford to spend this much every two and a half weeks (More than fifteen and less than eighteen at the time of purchase). For the price, I either need it to last longer than that OR have the new whiteness of my dogs' teeth blinding me from across the room (preferably both, but hey.) For now, getting such a small jar for that kind o' cash means no repeat purchase, but if the price goes down or if amazon stocked the larger size (they did not at the time of purchase)I'd consider buying again. If you have a small breed, you'll probably get YOUR money's worth; you need fewer scoops per day. The only ingredient is a seaweed, dried and ground up, so for the same price I paid for this I bought a five pound bucket of dried ground kelp also on amazon (different species but I hope the same principle applies) and we shall see! Again, this product does work, it is simply pricey for the quantity you get. It is worth a try if you own small dogs though.

I honestly thought this product was a scam. I’d seen all the photos of people’s dogs losing chunks of tartar and thought, “There’s no way.” I’ve tried just about every dental product out there, and nothing has ever made much of a difference. I have a four-year-old Pomeranian, and we’ve brushed his teeth religiously since he was a puppy. If I’m being honest, brushing alone has done surprisingly little. After about two weeks of using the ProDen PlaqueOff Powder, we added the dental bones (we break them in half). Then one day, a huge piece of tartar on one of his back molars literally chipped off. I couldn’t believe it. Since then, I’ve been able to gently remove tartar from some of his front teeth too. This is the only dental product I’ve ever found that actually works. Considering professional cleanings can cost $600 or more, I wish I’d found this sooner. I don’t usually leave reviews, but this one earned it.

Ich war anfangs ehrlich gesagt skeptisch und habe es nur bestellt, weil es so viele gute Rezensionen hatte. Aber Leute: Es funktioniert! 😍🙌 Unsere Hündin hat sehr mit Zahnstein zu kämpfen 🦷😩. Das Pulver rettet uns gerade wirklich den Hintern, denn sonst hätte wahrscheinlich wieder eine Zahnsanierung unter Vollnarkose angestanden – und das hatte sie bereits hinter sich. 😔💤 Und das Beste: Der Zahnstein lässt sich mittlerweile kinderleicht mit meinem Fingernagel abkratzen! 😱🦷✨ Kein mühsames Schrubben oder Herumprobieren – er löst sich wirklich erstaunlich leicht. 🙌🙏❤️ Ich bin wirklich positiv überrascht und kann es bisher absolut empfehlen! 🐾✨

I've waited to review this product until we'd used it daily for a month. The left photo shows my dogs teeth before and the right photo shows after one month of use. Positives - his breath does seem to be nicer, he doesn't mind the taste of it and he's notoriously picky, it's actually quite affordable because despite the initial cost being high you use so little that a single jar will last many months. No further plaque has developed. I think his teeth are a little whiter and brighter. Negatives - so it's not a cure all. The amount of plaque hasn't really changed all that much but we also bought an ultrasonic cleaner and he has a toothbrush to use as well. We'll launch into that now but I really wanted to use JUST the plaque off product for a month to see what happened before I muddied the results with other products. Possibly great long term to avoid plaque development but you should probably start with a full dental clean as it doesn't make a huge difference to already developed plaque. Ultimately I think this is a great addition to your dogs dental hygiene routine but it's not a cure all - especially if the dog already has developed plaque. I'll be really interested in the long term results now once we get the a full dental clean as to whether ProDen continues to make a difference in plaque development. We'll continue buying it.

Writing this review after 5 months. Dog used to have hard yellow tartar all across the back 2 teeth. With 5 months of usage + brushing thrice weekly with average tooth pastes it’s gone down to the picture attached. It’s a small tub of product but I would continue to purchase once the tub is empty.
