Eye opening
Eye opening and sometimes a bit shocking. If you are truly interested in learning about the negative forces in the music industry and how powerful they are (and no you are not imagining it like I thought I was) read this book. I have enjoyed Mark Dices You Tube videos. This is the first book written by him I have read. I thoroughly enjoyed it...even though it left me somewhat nauseated to discover what is happening in the entertainment industry. Will definitely read his other books.

PARENTS! Read this for your children's sake
We all know, thanks to our own cognitive dissonance, that something has overtaken the music industry which is not positive or good. Mark Dice spells it out for us and explains the who, what and why behind this alarming movement. As a former music teacher, I recommend that all parents read this book and begin censoring the so-called "music" that your children are listening to by paying attention to the lyrics and the behavior of the so-called "artists".

Same old, same old. A list book of eeevil rubbish pop just like the '80s Peters Bros.
Book shows published November, 2013. This is one of those fundie Christian anti-pop music (?) list books, where each act gets about three paragraphs/about a page and a half, of unfounded opinions and no financials, no academic info, no trade magazine footnotes, just the usual consumer (and now general "I researched this ON THE INTERNET!!!") sources. Acts listed:Jay-Z, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Drake, Rick Ross, Baphomet, The Pentagram, Angel Haze, Azealia Banks, Tupac Shakir, Gunplay, Dwight York, Prodigy, Professor Grif, J. Cole, Jay Electronica, The Game, T-Pain, A$AP Rocky, Eminem, Suge Knight, Sean “Diddy” Colmes, Lauren Hill, Ice Cube, Charly Boy, Tyler the Creator, Big Boi, Killer Mike, Talib Kwali,Jadakiss, Lupe Fiasco, General Gemineye, Immortal Technique, Paris, N.O.R.E., Die Antwoord, Hopsin, MC Hammer, KRS-One, Bizzle, Saigon, Black Entertainment Television, … Beyonce’, Rhianna, Nicki Minaj, Lady Gaga, Keisha, Miley Cyrus, Justin Beiber, Madonna, Christina Aguilera, Katie Perry, Ciara, Justin Timberlake, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Lilith Fair, … Korn, Megadeth, Les Claypool, Don Henley, Ministry, Muse, Fatboy Slim, System of a Down, Pink Floyd, Bono, Marilyn Manson, Ozzy Osbourne, AC/DC, Insane Clown Posse, Woodstock 99, … and NO country artists (really? You’d think at least Toby Keith and Garth Brooks would get mentioned). If yer a fan of the stuff, more power to ya (I ain't heard anything by almost every one of these acts, er, I think, except Ozzy and AC/DC, ...and Ice Cube. I got Ice Cube and NWA.), or think of this book-like product as the source for your shopping list. Pretty much the only way I've actually heard ABOUT any of these acts is on those syndicated paparazzi shows plugging scandalous (likely paid for advertising masquerading as "news") manufactured celebrities of the moment flash-in-the-pan and gone to thrift shops "artists."Apparently a lot of urban folks are putting on funny clothes, costume jewelry, slathering on buckets of makeup, and begging the world to believe they're in cahoots with the REAL money folks. I thought Twisted Sister and Motley Crue were going to rule the world, but that was when MTV was actually watchable.

Everyone should read this book because it gives insight as to how everyone from corporate America right down to the consumer buys this garbage and then becomes just like them
Mark gives us a rare tour of how the music industry is run. I have feared that SATIN WORSHIPING was one of the biggest problems that made these stars who they are today. Since I never listen to their music and would never watch a video about these people on YOUTUBE, I can see how the younger generation can be suede to listening to them in the first place. Everyone should read this book because it gives insight as to how everyone from corporate America right down to the consumer buys this garbage and then becomes just like them. Their are very few HIP HOP and RAP artists who do tell the truth, the rest of them are pure scum. They just want your money and that's it. These people do not care one way or the other about your personal life. As along as they are on top of the world who cares what people think. This is why America is heading for disaster and its because of its music and the industry that promotes it as well. This book will open your eyes and make you think about purchasing their products or even listening to them as well. Thank You for opening my eyes to this powerful industry. Keep up the good work. The music industry is greedy for your money
Back in the early 2000's, I use to listen to a lot of rap music when I was 13. Back then, I thought it was cool to listen to this type of music when I was in high school. Me and my friends were loving it whenever there's a new hit song that was catchy. In 2007, I stop listening to rap music because it became apparent that it's all the same kind of rap. Always about money, cars, women, sex, drugs, crimes, at this point it was obvious that they wanted you to do those terrible deeds. Nowadays, I only listen to music from video games that barley have any lyrics, and also slow music to calm my mind after a hard day's of work. This book tells me that the music industry nowadays, just wanted you to spend more money on garbage content they throw at you. The music industry dose not care for you or humanity. Think for yourselves, don't let the the music industry think for you.

Its ok
Although it is an entertaining read I wouldn't recommend. The author talks about several topics on a shallow manner. If you already know about these topics this book is just a summary of what you already know and if you don't know about these topics you will just find yourself looking up information every five minutes because as I stated before, the info is shallow. It feels choppy when going from one artist to the next and even though I share his music taste, his opinion is completely biased. It's short and entertaining enough to kill a few hours.

Simply the truth!
Mark keeps it real as he exposes the truth and a very sinister agenda in this industry. It's sad that people would rather sell their souls for money and corrupt children than leave a positive footprint on this earth. Pay no attention to the negative ratings posted. Totally worth reading. Enjoy.

IIIuminati in the Music Industry
Illuminati in the Music Industry, good insight into how music is used to brainwash the listeners through social conditioning. Many musicians achieve massive success which is not equal to them being extremely talented, but because they have been chosen by a record label to be promoted.Music is part of us, and either ennobles or degrades our behaviour. The weaker your family, the more they influence you. An ancient Chinese philosophy text by Shu Ching "changing people's manners and alternating their customs there is nothing better than music".Jay-Z was chosen to aid Illuminati and wrap himself in their symbols instead of fight against them or expose them. In his lyrics to Empire State of Mind his states 'Jesus can't save you, Life begins when the church ends'.Many young men chose to wear their trousers low not knowing what it symbolizes. Professor Griff believes 'Homosexuality is on the rise and they made the new cleavage become the butt crack' referring to people wearing saggy pants exposing their underwear or butt, a style some claim came from gay prisoners who advertised that they were gay by showing off their butt cracks'Good read for an insight into the New World Order.

Nostalgia for paranoid conspiracies of the 'thirties...
This book is an entertaining read, for all of the wrong reasons. It's particularly amusing to go through it mentally replacing the word "Illuminati" with the phrase "international zionist conspiracy", and wondering if it would make any difference to the hysterical paranoid drivel on offer. Sadly, Mark Dice lacks the testicular and spinal fortitude to be that up front about his agenda, but it isn't exactly hard to spot.Like all texts by hysterical paranoid nuts this book will either be extremely funny or extremely distasteful, depending on how strong the reader's stomach is, and their ability to treat this sort of bile-laden rant as inadvertent comedy rather than a racially driven right wing meltdown. If you don't find that sort of thing amusing, this book is definitely best avoided.
