Herstyler Grande Ceramic Tapered Curling Wand - 1 inch Dual Voltage with Negative Ions for Long and Short Hair (Purple)

I have been in the market for a curling wand for a long time. I am very careful what I buy on Amazon. I always read reviews and look at ratings before buying anything. I did see a lot of mixed reviews on this curler but thought I would take the plunge. What eventually swayed me to buy it was the price. It arrived today, I love that it's purple! (My favorite color!) and I just used it for the first time and I am beyond pleased with this product. It does look and feel a little cheesy, possibly made with cheap plastic. But it got the job done. I have very thick and long hair and it has always held curls very well, it just took a very hot iron to make it that way. I have a Remington curl perfect which I bought because I saw it in Seventeen magazine ~5 years ago. But I outgrew it because of how thick my hair was. It was taking me easily an hour and half to do my hair. With this wand I curled 75% of my hair in ~15 minutes. It's great! Exactly what I was looking for! If you want a super hot iron that is at a good price, look no further! The only thing I would say needed improvement was 1.I wish it had a temp on it 2. I wish it came with a better glove. I didn't burn myself but I can already see the holes forming in between the fingers and I've only taken it off 3 times. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Works well even for the thick, wavy hair. I’ve had everything from Hot Tools Professional, Beach Waver, Bed Head and Conair and until this day I swear the best wand I had ever used came from some small, unknown kiosk at our local mall many moons ago. It costed less than $40 and I forgot what happened to it upon getting married and moving it was not in the picture anymore. I went on to spend $100+ on brand names such as Beach Waver and Hot Tools both of which dropped the ball big time. This little tool came runner up to my old wand. I recommend this to anyone with thick, long hair it WILL wave it just give it a few extra seconds to make sure it’ll hold shape because I promise you it will! :)

About 4 years ago, when I was awkward and in middle school, my local mall had a kiosk of these curling irons, and me not knowing anything about hair, I was AMAZED at how good the curls looked! The only problem? They were selling them for 200 FREAKING DOLLARS. Well I got one for Christmas and immediately felt bad and was so uncomfortable that my parents spent 200 bucks on a curling wand for me, and then my mom told me she got it on amazon for 30. Let me tell you something.. I do not spend more than like ten bucks on ANY beauty product, but if I would pay anything for this curling iron. 4 years later, and after trying other ones in between, nothing beats this wand. It is so so so so perfect. The secret to big natural looking waves, and to save about 40 minutes, put your hair in a high ponytail, split it in half, and curl half of it to the left, and half of it to the right. I also discovered this in my awkward stage. IT IS THE COOLEST THING EVER. YOU CAN WAKE UP AT A DECENT TIME EVERYDAY AND STILL HAVE FLAWLESS FREAKING CURLS. I have red, super thick hair, and it is probably one of the longest heads of hair at my school, and this only takes me about 20 minutes. Sorry for the paragraph, I just feel very strongly about this curling iron, lol.

It is quite good at its stated task. However, the international symbols for on and off are sometimes confusing, but I suppose memorizing them wouldn't be too difficult, lazy complaint. However, there's no indicator light, which compounds the issue. The thing generates serious heat (400*) so it's rather simple to sense if it's on or not... But to prevent burns, a little light might be nice. I have accidentally burnt myself - - not sure why I would do so on purpose - - and it's been a real searing pain. I chalk it up to a new device which will always take some getting used to. However, anything that can be done to avoid that is cool. No temp dial, but I always left my other one at the same point so this has made the simplicity of the tool appealing. It is easy to use, and the curls are lovely. The hair doesn't slip while curling, and it's very lightweight. My hair is quite thick and long, takes curl well, and it's been my favorite curling iron I've used. Well it's not iron, but old habits die hard. I haven't noticed damage, but I do use heat protectant in my conditioner.

I bought this in 2017 and 9 yrs later it is still my most favorite iron EVER. I have stick straight hair and this iron is so easy to use and my curls stay for days. Absolutely LOVE THIS CURLING IRON. The tapered rod helps release the hair much easier than other irons and I've tried a few. Im tempted to buy another one to keep on hand as mine is already 9 yrs old. Best purchase ever and the curls are beautiful.

You get what you're paying for with this curling iron. There is no specific heat setting options so it's just either off or it's hot as hell. It comes with a little glove but it's useless because it doesn't actually have any thermal protection at all (it's the equivalent of a normal thin winter glove) which I suppose would protect you if you momentarily touch the iron but it's just useless to me if I feel like the glove itself would burn if I were to touch/get close to the barrel for a longer period of time. It feels cheap and plasticy in your hand and the cord is pretty annoying at times. It's attached in a way at the bottom of the curling iron that it's supposed to rotate along with whatever direction you're turning the iron (to prevent the cord from tangling maybe?) but it's just frustrating because it gets stuck and is so pointless to me. In all honesty you could probably get a better cheap wand from like Ross or other mark down stores like that. I don't use it often, but it does the job when I do wanna curl my hair. This was just an impulse buy for me because it was cheap, I had a gift card and I had recently broken my previous wand. If you're looking for something that'll last you a long time and that you plan on using frequently I would probably just save your money and invest in a nicer name brand one. This one feels pretty unsafe to me at times, just the way it heats up it eventually makes the whole thing feel warm (handle included) I wouldn't recommend this to anyone unless you're strapped for money and really need a wand.

I love this wand! I bought my first one 10 years ago and it just died! I was surprised it was still available to buy but so excited! I don’t mind the no temp control as I have crazy thick hair and the heat helps. My curls will literally stay in for days. I love the glove as it helps a lot. At the beginning it took a few tries to figure out how to not burn myself, but that I feel like was a error on my part! Also super happy it’s cheaper then 10 years ago! I paid over $100 for this wand.

I just tried it and I'm very impressed- I have curly hair and like to add in a few for volume. I'm hoping this curing wand is for the long haul cause my last one lasted for 10 years-fingers crossed

I owned my last one for 6 years and it finally died, so I purchased a new one, which died after 1 day. Amazon made the exchange process super easy, and my new one works perfectly. I would definitely suggest purchasing off amazon rather than the online retailer. As for the wand, it's AMAZING. Best wand I've ever tried, and my mom is a hair dresser. Curls typically tend to fall right out before i'm even fished curing my hair! This wand actually keeps the curl so well and will last all day! It works well on on fresh clean hair or dirty (second day) hair. It comes with a glove, which makes it super easy to work with the wand and doesn't make my hair all static-y. My hair is pretty thin, but it works on so many hair types! I've read online that the black wands gets hotter than the coloured wands, but I have not found this to be the case. Love this wand!!
