Don't buy the reed switches, these are much more reliable!
Don't buy the reed switches, they don't last. In addition, the reed switches fail with the circuit CLOSED. That burnt out 3 of my bilge pumps before I realized why the pumps failed. I run my bilge pump/float switch directly connected to a 100 watt solar panel (no battery). When the cheap reed switches fail they run the pump continuously until it overheats and dies—because all the water has been evacuated long ago. Since I bought one of these more expensive steel roller ball switches I've had no bilge pump failures every month or two. My pumps run all day off and on and those cheap reed switches can't take it.

Works as advertised
Actually use this to monitor water level in a 32 gallon can. RV pump shuts off when tank empties. Works as advertised.

Had two and both were not watertight
I've had two of these and the first one lasted about a year before it filled with water and ruined the microswitch inside. I bought another in December '23 and now 6 months later it has failed too. I drilled a small hole in the top and drained the water. My sump pit is only 4" deep and dry most months of the year so a very light duty situation. Really horrible performance and will never try one of these again.
