Wonderful Henna based hair dye. My only complaint is that it does not come with an applicator brush or a cap to put over your hair. If your hair is longer than shoulder length, you will need two boxes of this to do your hair. The kit has three settings: roots, short and long. My hair is shoulder length and I chose to mix the contents of both bottles and it proved a perfect amount. I forgot to take before and after shots and it was a week ago when I dyed my hair, but the color is a beautiful ruby chestnut. I will be using this one again. Easy to mix and instant to use no need to wait for it all to cure. Easy to apply, although I would suggest getting your own rubber gloves because the throwaway pair that comes with the kit are practically useless. For those who have died their hair a lot, you are probably familiar with the range of thickness in most of these kits. This was a gelatinous pudding like texture that did not run down my neck and face while it sat for 30 minutes in my hair..

I picked Mahogany Chestnut. It turned out a little darker than I anticipated but that’s OK. It’s closer to my natural black color so that’s not a problem. There’s a bit of shine to it afterwards which is cool. I picked this brand mainly for them being clean, not having too many chemicals, cruelty-free, plant-based, etc. Also wanted to save money from going to the salon. I have a lot of hair and it’s long so it’s not always easy to color it. Thankfully it was not as messy as I thought it was going to be. The mess I made in the sink and shower was easy to clean up. Didn’t leave behind color stains. I would likely use this again.

I purchased the light mahogany chestnut color. I started out with my natural uncolored chocolate brown hair. I wanted to cover a few greys and make it a dark mahogany color. I’m vegan and I tend to gravitate towards more natural products so I decided to purchase this product since it’s cruelty free and vegan unlike most hair dyes. The application was pretty easy like other box dyes. I noticed it was very mild in smell. It came with two products you mix together 1:1 and then a hair conditioner and gloves. I used some lotion on my forehead and ears and back of my neck to prevent it from staining my skin. I ended up using about half of each bottle for my shoulder length hair. I like that you can save the other half and use again which is not possible with most hair dyes as they have to be discarded once opened. I applied it and put on a shower cap and waited the 40 mins. After the time was up I rinsed it out and applied the conditioner. I found the conditioner to be very thin and there’s not a lot of it so I used my own conditioner too. When I got out of the shower I noticed my hair looked very dark, and not red at all. So I decided to dry it and see how it looked dried. I blow dried my hair and sure enough it was very dark brown almost black with no visible red at all. It turned out even darker than my natural hair color. The color is pretty and my hair looks great, but I’m a bit disappointed because it did not turn out the color I expected it to. I knew it wouldn’t be vibrant red but I wanted some red, I got none. I will purchase again but will probably try another color next time.
