I enjoy golfing, and tend to golf any where between ...
These Balls are no Joke! I enjoy golfing, and tend to golf any where between 20-30 rounds a year. Im a fairly consistent bogie golfer, shooting between 83-88 on most outings. I know that I will never be a par golfer, nor do I desire to be on the pro tour. However, it always feels good when you do hit below you average and score lower than you normally would. In my case, scoring an 80 or 81 would be a great outing. I usually hit the ball pretty straight off the tee and can usually hit it 225 yards or so. but I do tend to get a slight slice or fade here and there. Ive always just played it and tried to us the natural fade as a strength and for the most part it has worked. This summer I saw these balls on amazon and started reading about them, and yes, they are technically illegal, but im not a pro, not competing for money or any where near a national level. so I figured what the heck, ill give em a try. I promise you, you will not be disappointed in these balls, they have added 40-50 yards to my drive, and the ball flies straighter and truer than I could of ever imagined. I have dropped a consistent 4 to 6 strokes a round off my game, I have hit 77, 78, 79. Like I said, I know there not a ball you could use on tour, but if your not competing and playing for fun, these balls are fantastic and really do work. With all that said, I caution 1 thing. When you first start using these balls, you will most likely do what I did and want to compare them against your callaway or what have you. the feel of these balls are going to be a bit different. not that its bad or feels way off. just different, like a callaway super soft is going to feel different than a Nike crush. it will take a bit to get use to them, but you will and when you do, as long as the arrow on the ball is pointed the way you are hitting, the polara ball will fly far and it will fly straight and it will beat out any ball you have in your bag, I tested and compared against every brand of ball I have and polara won in distance and straightness every time. Once you get use to the feel, I found even putting with the ball is superior.

Not revolutionary
Here's the short version...It's a good ball, but it's not going to change your game. Longer version: Pros: - Very soft, had a good feel around the green (great spin) - Didn't seem to hinder distance at all (as claimed with the previous models) - Price isn't bad - Very good feel off the club Cons: - I found it annoying that I had to constantly "aim" the ball. Several times I would tee it up, address the ball, then realize it's a few degrees off.....re-tee it, etc. - I love that it is a very soft shell, but I slightly cut/scuffed the shell of two different balls just from hitting them (no cart paths, trees, etc.). I suspect it is just from having some sand or dirt on the club when I hit. - I bought a dozen for my father and a dozen for me. Neither of us really noticed any correction of ball path. Conclusion: It's not a bad ball. It's very soft, yet still hits a good distance. Playing these balls, I've had some good shots...and I've had some bad shots. Just to give it an honest shake, I alternated several holes between Polaras and Pro V1s. I think I slightly preferred the Pro V1s. The Pro V1 is quite a bit more expensive than the Polara, but my point is that I think a high quality conventional golf ball can still out perform Polara. On a dollar for dollar comparison, the Polara feels a little better than a comparatively priced conventional ball. So it's not a bad buy. I gave it four stars based on that. But if you are expecting a revolutionary ball that you can't hook or slice no matter how hard you try....you will likely be disappointed. It's fun to mix it up a little and give these balls a run, so I'm glad I tried them. But I won't be hitting them religiously. Mainly because I don't want to have to aim it before every shot. I do seem to stick these to the green or even back them up occasionally. So that was pretty cool. *For reference, I am not a great golfer. I usually score between 90-100 on most courses. I don't have a consistent hook or slice...but I still hit my fair share of both. I probably spend 60-70% of my shots on the fairways or greens. So the rough and I are well acquainted. So take my opinions with a grain of salt.

Lowest Scores......EVER!!!!!
I just want to say that I am about a 13 Handicap and have broken 80 once in my life. My goal has always been to have a shot at 79 everytime I go out to play.....However, my driving usually made the feat quite difficult. I was skeptical about playing a USGA non-conforming ball at first but considering the fact that I will never compete in a US Am or Mid-Am persuaded me to try these balls out. So I originally purchased a trial pack from the Polara website. Took them out to the local executive course to try out. OMG! These balls are absolutely amazing! I had a legitimate shot at a 33 on the back nine that day, and continually break 40 for 9 holes most days with this ball. I am now a Polara customer for life! I began to only line the ball up with my target from the tee, and then played around with adjusting my lie only in the fairway to see how the ball flies when aligned vs. not aligned. Here is what I discovered: 1) The ball flies straight - Slices turn into baby "Nicklaus" fades. The dimple pattern causes the ball to self correct in flight. These XDS balls have a normal trajectory with every club, unlike the other Polara balls which have a lower trajectory. 2) Wonderful feel - i thought that these balls would be lacking here, but pure iron and wedge shots feel like "butta!" I'd compare these to a Titeleist NXT tour in feel. 3) LONG! - Since these balls fly STRAIGHT (no distance lost left/right) with little side spin, they release when they land. When i played regular golf balls, I put so much spin on the drive that when they landed, they stuck, robbing me of distance. 4) Fairway play - When I lined the arrow up with my target from the fairway, they flew straight.....when I didn't, they flew strainght! The only difference I noticed was when you lined the ball up, there was more lift and flew only slightly higher. I also noticed that if you placed the ball with the alignment arrow perpendicular to the target, wedge shots had a lot of spin. Definitely one-hop-and-stop. 5) Putting - Has a nice soft feel.....not balata soft, but deftinitely soft. Rolled true, regardless of the assymetrical dimple pattern. 6) Intangibles - This ball allowed soooo much more than the above review: - FUN: Regularly having birdie and par putts is what it's all about! You can start trying to strategize more and enjoy the course your playing rather than getting frustrated with lost ball after lost ball! - Time Saver: You are in the fairway or slightly in the rough. Not a pond, the woods, a neighbors dog house.... - Confidence: No more jitters on tee boxs! just try to put the best swing you can on it and let it fly. This confidence then translates to all other facets of your game - Focus on other parts of game: Now you can really focus on improving the most important part of the game....getting the ball in the hole (wedge play and putting). I highly recommend this ball to any player not attempting to get into a USGA event. And for you purists out there, give us a break! Golf is a hobby and a form of recreation. Its not meant to be frustrating! The game is inherently difficult and you still need to gauge the environment/course/lie, select the right club, play the right shot, read a green, and execute a swing. This ball simply gives you confidence to keep putting in the effort and concentration to do your best. I can honestly say that I now have a shot at 79 each time I go out! Happy golfing!

Better buy Bridgestone e12
The golf ball is OK, but not worth the price. I had a problem with my slice but I was able to fix it. Work on hitting the ball straight and you wonโt need to spend the he $ on these. You lose distance and the ball goes somewhat straight but not worth the price.

Really incredible golf ball
Polara makes 2 basic types of balls (each has a 2 & 3 piece version). The Ultimate Straight (US) and the Extra Distance (XD). I have extensively used both. The US has a 75% slice correction and geared for the golfer who has a really bad slice/hook off the tee box. This ball is almost impossible to slice. It feels very hard at impact with your driver and you will lose some distance (20-30 yds). REMEMBER...200 yards in the fairway beats 230 in the trees! You will also need a driver of 10.5* or better or the ball just won't fly as it makes in flight corrections. The XD balls are 50% correction but are better suited for the occasional or milder slicer/fader. It will absolutely keep the ball straight and near the fairway. This ball feels like any other ball at impact and you will not lose distance. I use an 8.5* driver and they work fine. One more note...both balls will go 10-20 yards further with your longer irons...ESPECIALLY off the tee...so take that into account. These balls are truly amazing, just get the one that fits your needs.

Waste of Money.
For $45 a dozen I should have just bought some Pro V1s. Over priced balls that do not fly straight or straighter at all. Teed up with a Callaway ERC on the first tee and went right so I hit a provisional with the Polar ball. Results, further right and could not even find it. Found my ERC though. Tried the same thing on the fairway to see if it was a fluke, but I hit my ERC closer to my target then the Polar XDS. Each time I made sure the arrow was pointing exactly to where I wanted it to go and had a buddy check my line up. During the round, I gave a ball to two of my playing partners and they both hit slices with them. In my opinion, these are not worth it.

Lacks durability
Ball started off great but after 10 hits they lost their distance. To be sure I hit a new ball and compared it to the 10 hits used ball and the difference was about 60 yards off the tee. Ball did go strait but scuffed easily. NOT worth it. I have a 8 handicap and swing speed of 85-90 off the tee.

They work!
I have been inconsistent with the driver forever. Some days I hit it ok to good, other days I slice the heck out of it. When I align the arrow to the left of the fairway, I hit it nragly perfectly straight. I played 9 holes with them last Friday and I hit almost every fairway. I shot a legit 43...I normally would be closer to 50 due to having to punch out from under the trees a bunch. I did not notice a loss of distance with irons - I still hit stock PW about 110, 7 iron about 145. The roll true on the greens and I still got a bit of bite/spin with the lob wedge. I played a full 18 a few days later and didn't score as well - putting was bad - but I still hit more than half of the fairways and the ones I missed were because I aimed too far left and the ball went where I aimed it. I play for fun, so I don't feel any kind of way about using a 'non conforming' ball. They are more expensive than I like - I have been using Costco balls, but honestly they improve my experience quite a bit so worth it If you struggle to hit fairways because of a slice, give these a go.

Work well if you have a good swing already
If you have the mechanics of a good swing, this product works great. I can hit the ball farther then my pals on straight-aways. If you have a huge slice or hook, as my buddy has, does not help. He still hammered the ball into the trees and rough.

Game changer
These genuinely work, feel guilty though as they are not legal
