is this bulb made by Satco?

I bought 6 F8T5 halophosphor long tubes for little over $1.00 each.They are made by "CH LIGHTING" using the rare earth halophosphor powder on their line of products.They advertise it as of stable quality, reliable, long life span and energy saving (8 W) It has a 3000K degree color (closer to tungsten than fluorescent) which is comfortable to eyes. A day-light tube has close to 5000K or 6000K degrees which it will be hard on my eyes. I think they are good bulbs, I am using one only at this time. However, I have a problem: after 2 months the bulb doesn't start completely at the first start and flickers a bit. I decided to turn the bulb OFF and ON again and the bulb works just fine, pleasant color and I leave it on even in the day-light. You know, living in Seattle is so dark in the winter that we are moving like zombies and you need to have some light on most of the time. I am using also an old light appliance I found in the basement 25 years ago so I don't know if this bulb has a slight issue or my old appliance/starter has an issue being old. I will test another bulb next month. But I encourage you to buy it, the price is right and I am sure it is going to work. What I like is that it doesn't create electromagnetic fields interfering with my portable radios or phone.

How is the 12" measured?

It includes the prongs and measure 11 and 7/8's. Working well for under counter lighting.

what ballast do these bulbs require?

Bought a ge f8t5/cw and it is literally 1/4" longer than the one that blew. anyone know which brand would be shorter?

I was unable to use these as they did not fix my fixture also. The product I bought that works in my fixture is a Sylvania bulb made for my fixture. They are a little shorter but the main thing is at the end of each bulb is a rounded rectangle. When putting in the fixture you need to rotate them and they snap in. I had some problems trying to find what worked in my fixture. I ended up going to a lighting place in my area with a sample bulb and they took care of it immeadiately.

Amazing value

These lightbulbs are so expensive at Home Depot. I got this whole package for what I would’ve paid for one. Everyone was perfect. None came broken. I ordered all of my lightbulbs now on Amazon.

Price ain't everything

I bought 2 six packs of these bulbs for my 5th wheel. So far I've had (2) two dead bulbs out of the box. The one's that work are fine and the price can't be beat BUT. They did refund the price of one bulb so far. I feel they are a stand up company, just know you may get bad bulbs on your order.

Installation instructions leave much to be desired.

I finally got around to installing your lights. Unfortunately you instruction leave much to be desired. I have done this upgrade with both 4ft and 3ft led in my garage, kitchen and bathrooms. In all cases, coming out of the wall from my homes electrical system, I had: - a black wire (power) - a white wire (common) - a green wire (ground) In all cases, the florescent fixture had a ballast with a black wire, a white wire, 2 blue wires, 2 red wires and two yellow wires. The black wire connected to the black wire, the white wire connected to the white wire, the red & blue wires connected to one end of the tube terminal and the yellow wires connect to the other tube terminal. Your installation diagram is in black and white and shows a before pic with the ballast and then another pic with no ballast. But your instructions do not give instructions on where to connect the blue, red nor yellow wires on the the fixture once the ballast is removed. I had to go to the internet to get proper installation instructions. Since your led tubes can be damages if the wires are not connected correctly, I am going to give your product an unsatisfactory rating and hope that other customers do the same until such time as you provide better installation instructions.
