I'm confused about whether these blocks have center holes. ONe person said yes and one said no. Anyone have any experience with this specific product?

Yes, there are holes in the center.  This product was phenomenally effective in ending our rodent infestation

why cant I use this inside my house? I have a rat (not mouse) problem, and nothing works to catch them. House is kid and pet free.

I don't know why you can't use it inside. I used it inside and outside, well no mice or rats in or outside my mouse.!!!

Question 3

I have them under my patio, can I simply throw the blocks underneath the patio and around? Or do I have to get a trap/box? pet and kid free house here

If you simply throw the chunks of poison out onto the patio or around your yard, some of the poison will be carried off and away by other animals .........such as squirrels.  If you throw it into the entrance and exit holes the rats use they will push it out of their tunnels.   Havoc works well,  I recommend threading a wire through the hole that is present in the bait and securing the ends...........sort of forces the pests to eat the poison in place and then you will see the product disappearing ..............and you will know then to keep an eye open for dead rats around your property/  If any of your neighbors have pets or small children a bait box may be a much safer way to go.

Can't answer the question about what it tastes like but can say rat really like it.  I had rats in my crawl space and tried every thing else and still had rats.  Used this product and the rats ate it up.  Now no more rats.  Bill
