thumbs up!
Right now this is my favorite rod for salmon, steelhead, and lake trout. I fish from shore and I noticed regardless of whether the spinning rods I was buying said they were made for braided liney did not hold up to the abuse. I fish a very large snaggy river. sometimes with in a few fishing trips I would end up cutting the top guide of the rods I bought either on a running fish or trying to work out a snag. The top guide would literally get cut or get a chip in it. Which would render the rod useless as any pressure on the line after the cut in the guide is made will cause the line to be cut. Which can be very frustrating if you are not aware of it and hook a giant fish. As soon as you set the hook on a fish the line gets cut where ever it touches the cut in the guide. This rod solved that problem. The top guide in this rod is twice as thick as any other rod I have use including rods that cost almost $200. I would enjoy a longer version of this rod as I know a lot of guys who fish for trout like longer rods so they can get away with lighter line for line shy fish. this is not that kind of rod but it stands up to the abuse of someone who is notoriously hard on tacke.

Great Rod at An Amazing Price
I purchased the 7'6" medium light model of this rod. The reel seat and rubberized split grip make it a comfortable rod to cast all day. I paired it with a Diawa REVROS 2500H spinning reel loaded with 15# braided line and 20# fluorocarbon leader. This combination is nice and light and very well balanced for fishing soft plastic stick baits, shrimp imitations and paddle tails on the grass flats of Sarasota Bay. It has been very effective on spotted seatrout, redfish, snook and flounder. It may be a bit light for Louisiana bull redfish, but is great for the inshore fish usually encountered in western Florida. The extra rod length and fast action tip have added a good 10 yards to my casts, but it still has enough backbone to control the occasional redfish above slot limit and decent sized black drum. The teal blue color with white guide wraps took some getting used to, but then it reminded me of my first rods I used as a boy and I warmed up to it. It has 9 Fuji line guides (including the rod tip) and seems very well made. There was a problem with delivery on the order, and I eventually cancelled the order through Amazon and ordered it through Walmart. Amazon customer service was extremely nice and helpful in trying to track down the shipment and eventually canceling the order for full refund.

Great value! Great rod! Poor packaging.
Been fishing hardcore for 32 years, own multuple rods and reels. I can say that this is a excellent rod, I love the feel of the rubber/cork handle. Great feel and fits perfect in the hand. This rod is top notch and goes beyond the price you are paying for. I've used it 5 times now. Landed mulitple 25+ inch redfish with it. Handles inshore fish just fine.As for the shipping of this product. It was done poorly. Basically a long square shaped box with very little padding inside. I ordered 2 and one had a busted tip. Tried to reorder but they were out of stock. Didn't want to wait, so I ordered through walmart. They packaged it properly in a cylinder tube made of thick card board, the end caps were plastic with foam padding on the inside of the cap.5 stars for the product, it is truely outstanding value. No stars for packaging.

Can't beat the price for the quality.
Very happy with the rod. I was looking at purchasing this rod, but for some reason Prime shipping was 3 days rather than 2 and I needed a rod for a trip in 2, so I purchased a Berkley Lightning Shock rod at Walmart. I was not happy with the Lightning rod and took it back immediately after the trip. Ordered this guy up for a following trip and could not be happier with the purchase. Running a Symetre 4000 with 20lb power pro and 30b leader. The reel base is very nice, the cork is smooth and comfortable. The blank has just the right feel for medium action with a pretty fast tip. It is sensitive enough for live bait, but can really fling great with throwing artificial. I like that the hook keeper is a closed loop, so it does not cause the line to hang up on it.Overall very pleased with the purchase.

Good deal
Great value in an inshore rod. This is my second. Broke the first when a big redfish darted between my legs while wade fishing and took off, leaving my backside in the rear view mirror and the rod tip pointed in the opposite direction and headed for the Aransas Bay bottom. (My bad, but I eventually landed her anyway.) Winding on the guides could be a little tighter and the color is questionable, but otherwise this delivers everything you need in a strong and sensitive rod for inshore species. And if it breaks, you won't feel nearly as bad as you might if your rod cost $200.

Seemed good at first......
This is a great rod for the price. It is more stiff than i thought it would be but its very strong and can handle some big fish. I have caught some big snook and redfish on it. Its not that sensitive so I only use it with certain set ups.

Nice quality
Have only used it once so far - didn't catch a fish with it yet. It's a bit heavy duty for the Intercoastal (I have a 4000 series reel on it too - which added to the "heft"). Seems to be very well made, and I'll be glad I have it if I catch a big Redfish, Jack, Snook, Tarpon, but probably a bit too much rod for the average Seatrout...

Impressive, nice price.
Very impressed so far. Feels great. Looks great. Works great. I bought a 2nd one (different specs to test and compare). The Carbon fiber blank is super smooth and responsive. The guides are slick and silent with very good and clean epoxy securing them. The rubberized cork handle is soft and sticky in a good way. The ergonomic handle is comfortable and helps with grabbing the line off the bail. The reel seat (handle screws) is secure on both my reels, no wiggles at all.So far so good.
