Works!!
It's been 3 weeks and I can already see a difference!! I bought this formula for one of my birds we've had her for about 2 months she seemed to be little aggressive and very agitated by her toys and it would scream and yell all day.. let me remind you I work from home so she's always around me and my other birds but I feel like she just needed a little bit of help .and I already noticed a difference she can actually sit in her cage play with toys and seems a lot more relaxed.. I don't expect her to be completely quiet she is a parrot but I can tell already that she feels more content and just overall a lot more easy-going as well this is amazing product!

It’s calming, not sedating
It’s really simple to use. You mix a little powder with clean water until it completely dissolves. I put just a little water in with the powder to mix it, before filling the water bowl. It does tend to leave clumps, if you mix it with too much water. It takes awhile for any kind of calming effect to build up. I haven’t noticed a reduction in my bird’s squawking, but I have noticed he is less aggressive. If you’re looking for something with a sedative-like effect, this is not the product. My 38-year-old parrot been on this product for several years now. The vendor gets dinged on this review for the packaging. The product used to come in a screw top jar with a measuring scoop. I’m glad I did not dispose of the last jar and scoop, because now the powder comes in a little pack that looks like cocaine.

Works best when used in combination with other remedies
I find the product does help, but I use it in combination with a tea tincture I make at home. The tea is essential and I have been using it for over a decade. I am not a bird expert so I do not want to make any recommendations. However, lately I have noticed many bird calming teas being marketed. I suggest do your own research and incorporate chamomile and other similar calming herbs to your birds daily diet--make a pot of tea and keep chilled and then diluted in the water at a 3 parts water to 1 part tea ratio and offer in place of plain water. I use human grade tea bags I get from the supermarket and it has been inexpensive and essential in keeping my little girl calm--she will be 23 this year!

Ineffective and Disappointing: Parrot Calming Formula Dietary Supplement
I purchased the Parrot Calming Formula Dietary Supplement with high hopes for alleviating my double yellow head Amazon parrots' anxiety issues. Unfortunately, this product not only failed to deliver on its promises but also exacerbated their condition. Despite following the recommended dosage diligently, there was no noticeable improvement in my birds' behavior. If anything, they seemed to become even more agitated and restless after consuming this supplement. It's disheartening to see my beloved pets suffer without any relief. Additionally, the supposed "calming" effect was nowhere to be found. Instead of soothing their nerves, the formula appeared to have the opposite effect, leaving my parrots even more irritable and anxious. Given the lack of efficacy and the negative impact on my pets' well-being, I cannot recommend the Parrot Calming Formula Dietary Supplement to fellow bird owners. It's a waste of money and, more importantly, potentially harmful to your feathered companions.

You don’t have to live in fear
100% necessary for hormonal birdies. On the days I forget to add it to my bird’s water, an evil demon with wings possesses my sweet cockatiel and chases me around the house; I curse my life choices. Add a scoop to warm water, swish it to dissolve, and everyone’s life will be better. Bird does not seem to notice a taste or smell. I tried other options, like calming chamomile lavender lemon ball tea or bird CBD oil - they either did not work or would work but my bird would hate them and fight me on it.

Amazing!!
This is wonderful and I'm sorry that I didn't try it before! I have bought from this company before, and they're aloe spray is great. But I forgot about the calming formula until I just happened to read about it on on FB bird page. I read the reviews here and was so surprised that both of my goffins did not scream for half of the day after I put this in their water! I don't think they would eat it if I put it on their food, but although they look suspicious when I put it in their water, they must drink it later in the day! Now I'm giving it to the Amazons also, when we're gone for the day or they might be stressed for some reason. Maybe having their claws trimmed or whatever. I think people who didn't see a difference maybe need to try it in the water or hold off for a couple of weeks and then try it again. Birds sometimes need to get used to something different and new and this is a survival response to protect them. I have also had birds that didn't like a certain food and then when I tried it since months later they ate a little bit and discovered that they liked it!
