Great tent. Do not pull the straps too tight
This tent is great. I guess some people like a truck tent with a floor, but I don't. I'm a taller, middle-aged guy and really dislike getting on the ground. I can dress the bed with a runner rug, cot and cooler THEN set up the tent. No bending over. It's obvious from many of the 1-star, 2-star pictures it isn't being installed correctly. They've sold thousands, so it's unlikely it doesn't fit your truck. Before you need to use it take your time, set aside an hour and assemble in the driveway or garage.Make sure the seams are running nicely down the bed rail and all straps are mostly loose during setup. Monitor the stress points. If the fabric is being pulled - you're doing something wrong and it could rip. Go back and adjust. After the tent is up, just snug down the straps lightly. It's tempting to pull them too tight, but like all tents, it should have some wiggle room. A final visual check should show the tent ends parallel or perpendicular to the floor.I spent about half an hour the first time, now I can throw it up in about 7 minutes.

So far, I'm very happy. Bone dry after huge rain storm.
I've only used it for one trip thus far - I'll edit this if I need to.It does what it says. It's very easy to set up if you take your time and follow directions (imagine that). Our first trip we encountered a very substantial rain storm on the first night which lasted hours. It had rained earlier (see muddy truck) but we got lucky with a break as we got to the campsite. I got it set up moments before another storm started. We set up the rest of our camp and had dinner, etc. under a tarp, as the entirety of the Amazon River was loosed upon us. We turned in late that night - dry as a bone, and woke the next morning dry, too. Condensation is always a factor with tents, and was there in the mornings - but the shelter absolutely keeps rain out. I can't speak to wind stability yet, but if (when) it happens I will edit. The zippers are small and seem rather delicate. I'm definitely taking my time with them, I'd prefer stronger zippers and seams. The tent is also very thin, and I can't see how the stitching doesn't rip - but it doesn't. This little tent is designed well, and so far it's pretty tough. So far, I'm very happy.

This tent looks awesome.
So far I am loving this tent. I just got it and have not used it for camping yet but it was love at first box opening! I read ALL of the reviews, yes ALL of them. I wanted to make sure I had the right size for my 2015 Dodge ram short bed truck and I wanted to be sure that I did not make any of the erection mistakes like many others have (and damaged their tents in the process). It took a few minutes to figure out what way the tent was to be aligned on the truck. Had to look at the photo on the box. Based on other testimonies I made sure to NOT tighten the side straps until the very end. The rods do fits very tightly in the tent on my truck. I did not force anything and just wiggled the tent and shook it to makes sure everything fit without tearing. It is a good snug fit and looks awesome. I did discover that my truck does not have any "lip" edges that the hooks could hook to very easily along the sides so I had to improvise. The front hooks I hooked inside the back door under the seat and just closed the door on the straps. Perfect! Also had to attach one side strap to the rear wheel. Everything still worked perfectly. I bought a 5 foot cot to put inside but alas the cot sticks all the way out the tailgate and the door will not closed comfortably so I won't use the cot.If you have any experience setting up poles tents this is easy. I set it up at the house in my yard (in the shade as it was about 90 that day) and I took my time and READ THE DIRECTIONS 2-3 times before going for it. I did not want to tear anything. I spent probably 30 minutes setting it up.....it took this long only because I really putz'd around. I know I could set this up in 10-15 minutes easily (I am a 55 year old woman). I am very excited to use it. Reviews said that once the rain fly is on it really cuts down on air flow through the top screened roof. I may rig up something to hold the fly further up off the roof to allow better air flow. But we shall see. I have a nice little battery op fan that I can use. I have a camp trip planned in late Sept 2017 but I don't think I can wait that long to try this out. Have to find somewhere to camp NOW!After I have camped in it I will try to remember to come update my review! Fingers crossed.

Nice addition to my truck,
I'm glad I choose this truck tent over the full enclosed one. Went to a national park and stopped at a campground. The tent was easy to setup and take down. I have a tundra with a rug bedliner which is like a carpet around the truck bed. The truck tent was the perfect addition. The tent made my bed feel like a camper. We haven't tested the tent in the rain yet, but while in the park, we had a windy night. The tent was sturdy and held in place.Recommendation:I didn't like the air bed height in the truck bed and was worried I might have objects in the truck bed that can puncture the air bed. Instead of using an air bed, I purchased a twin foam mattress. The foam mattress worked better than an air bed. If you get a full or queen, you can cut it to match your truck bed. I ended up buying a twin 3" foam bed. To reduce the foam bed for storage, purchase the space saver bag SpaceSaver Premium Space Saver Vacuum Storage Bags, (40 x 30 Inch) 10 x JUMBO SIZE BAGS and this reduces the foam bed to fit in a storage box container that can be pushed to the side for storage. This bag fit the twin foam size nicely. You may have to find other ways to store if you get a full or queen size.Pros:Easy to setup and take down.Do not have to remove items from the truck bed when setting up tent.Held in place with windy condition.Cons:Poles tend to open a small gap by side where they fit into the slits. You can tighten the straps, but not as tight.

Used it this weekend. I was surprised at the stability of this tent in high winds. Never caved in or collapsed. 15 minutes to set up and break down. 10 if the wife isn't helping.

Ripping seems = no tent to sleep in once in the field
I have bought 3 rightline truck tents by now, and no more - one after the other, and after only a single use - the very poorly made seems rip - twice on one of the loops used to hold one of the tent poles, which just broke through the single thread, and the last one - just busting at the seem at the front right corner. These tents are just poorly made, and cannot be trusted. Plus - the size advertised to fit a short crew cab bed is itself just too short - adding to the likeliness of the seems tearing, but this happened even when I tried one size longer than what is "recommended" for my truck, so this problem is on the entire size range, apparently.

2016 RAM 1500 Full Size 5 foot 7 Inch Short Box Crew Cab
So, I have not even fully used the tent yet, it went up in about 30 minutes, inside of a garage, it appears to be maybe an inch or two short on the tailgate bag section. As you can see in the other reviewers photos of his Ram 1500 setup, the tent does not get taught near the rear end and is tight to the rear taillights and it makes the door a big floppy mess. Since lining the tent up on the truck is difficult because it is too small at the cab side, one end goes over the 90 degree cornernof the bed, and then you go to the other side and it's too short, so you have to have someone line it up and hold it while you try to wiggle the other side in place, then you go to run the C cords down to the sheet metal to clip it on and low and behold. The did not give you enough strap to reach the bottom of the truck's sheet metal, so you end up having to jerry rig it down in the crevace between cab and bed to try and make it reach something to clip to. Add the issue with lining the tent up over the bed rail corners and this makes for some stupidity. The D clips and cord that are supposed to over lap the A cords attached location are a bit ridiculous as you have to stuff it behind the bumper and you need to make sure to line up the slack in the cord so that it doesn't dissapear behind the bumper when you get the clip to overlap A and clip on the sheet metal. The little D strap clip that goes behind the bumper so it creates a seal on the body is too tight to squeeze in, so it will create some marks on the body in the process. The orange straps that keep the tent tension from front to back need to be extended long enough before you lift your tail gate so that when you feed it down and behind the bumper you can get under the truck and find a bolt or something to use the carabiner clip on. If you just try to use the pressure fit of the clip behind the tail gate it will work it's self out as both sides did for me, the tent went up with the poles and seemed okay other than the center (grey striped) poles may have been too long as the center of the tent bowed off the truck body once that pole went in, tightening down only did so much. I Could see in multiple locations where the stitching was starting to pull apart. First setup. I Even watched the video before setting it up multiple times, poor construction, built and molded after a chevy/ford pickup, not so nice for a dodge, it fit, it was gapped off the body in a few places, the slope from top of tent to tailgate was non existent as the rear end of the box/tail light section was too snug and left the door flopping and once unzipped, it would not zip up again!. Had to realease all straps, then zipped it up again, and the resnugged straps. So far, it feels like a couple third graders in China built this tent. Rightline bought it up in bulk, slapped the wolf logo and rightline name brand on it, gave it the big ol' American seal of approval and shipped it off at a markup of 75%. (You can skip the Rightline process and just order these tents right from the chinese source, but shipping will take longer and it won't have a wolf logo on the tent and it will cost less fyi).We will be taking this tent out camping shortly. I will revise my review and post in depth photos regarding the performance and quality of this Rightline *cough* product.Take down was straight forward, fold everything over no wider than the stuff sack, roll tent/straps, fly and pole bag up snug, and place back into stuff sack. At least they managed to get that part right. Watch for pricing too, on Amazon they were $256, as of today, $236, same seller.

Measure Twice, Order Once
Love this! Make sure you measure the truck bed size. I did not listen to my husband and ordered the wrong size. Sent it back no problem and reordered the 5.5 foot tent. The larger one did fit but the proper sized one fits much better. We have a tunneau cover that folds and this fits perfectly over it and will add a shelf for us while camping. Heading to the Yukon and did not want to pull our travel trailer but still wanted to camp along the way. This was the perfect solution.

Poor quality, not worth it.
Buy this for a 1 time use.I reached out to the company on replacing the zipper that broke as per manufacturer defect, response was evaded to the point beyond warranty. The zipper is garbage. On all zippers.Where the tent poles go rips easy, and requires extreme caution to assemble without damage.Waste your money If you only need 1 camping trip.Low quality.Ya. For sure, it got me though a night.. Unfortunately I am extremely displeased.

Good customer service, but a cheaply made product that doesn't last
We were excited when we received our truck tent and set it up in the driveway to test it out. It wasn't as easy to figure out as we'd hoped, but we got it done. We repacked it and it sat until our first trip a couple months later. The first time we went to use it camping, one of the poles poked through the sleeve, tearing it. We got in touch with customer service. Their reply was prompt and they sent us repair tape. They were helpful. However, before the repair tape arrived we took it camping again. This time one of the bottom straps with a hook on it came off the tent, so it can no longer be secured at that point.Could I sew it and fix it? Probably. Should I have to? No.All in all, we would say don't waste your money. This is a cheaply made product that does not last. It was nice to be up off the ground, but two camping trips and two repairs required doesn't cut it.
