First drone
Great drone. It was my first time purchasing a drone of this caliber and I was unsure of my ability to use it. But upon receiving it I have changed my mind. It has been very easy to use, it's durable and the battery life is great with all things considered. One down side on mine is the battery pack doesn't seem to click on properly, it is securely in the holder but the final battery safety does not connect. Also never use it indoors, the drone will take out what ever it hits and you can't control it to we'll indoors.

Biggest POS ever my unit malfunctioned on the third day I owned it and I even have a video proving that the unit malfuncioned
Everything was ready to go, green lights indicating I had gps. Remote control was in gps mode and my phantom 2 went rogue! After 3 weeks of trying to get a answer out of customer service and waiting a hour on hold every time they finally said there is nothing they can do! Dont waste your money! Expensive and the company has many problems![...]Very dissapointed!

Excellent Machine with a Few Terrifying Moments - Buy It!
Unboxed my Phantom 2 three days ago. Was a little freaked out by past reviews. It's an expensive toy and I didn't want it to fly away. I've got a little experience flying a little Hubsan so I know it can be hard. I was very cautious when I got started. I gave it 4 out of 5 starts for two reasons: 1. Instructions were weak. 2. Low battery auto pilot take-over. Here is how it went.UNBOXING - GreatEverything was included and in working order. There are a couple of wires taped to the bottom that make it look a little rigged-up, but otherwise, it looked very good. I only needed to plug in the charger for the battery. Also charged up my AA batteries for the controller [not included - recommend rechargeable because the transmitter eats batteries].FLIGHT PREPARATION - WeakThere is a Quick Start Guide included. Seems like they were going for some minimalist style in the instructions. For something like this, I feel like more information is better. Had a hard time figuring out what the lights meant. Also not clear on how to calibrate the compass properly. Ended up watching a few YouTube videos to get the hang of it. Also downloaded the DJI controller and upgraded my firm-ware. A precaution I learned from previous emails warning of fly-aways. This interface was also weak and hard to understand. Seems the firmware go updated on it own so I can't tell you exactly how it happened. The program just did it, then didn't recognize my Phantom again. I might try again later.FIRST FLIGHT - AwesomeFired up the battery. Calibrated the compass. Then took off on the first flight. Incredibly stable. Very predictable [which is good]. Felt like I had total control. Did quite a few maneuvers around a large field. Took it very high and charged it around the field fast. Excellent handling. Felt like I could not do a lot of fancy moves like with other drones. Maybe I had some stability mode on I don't know about. Amazing flight.ADDING A CAMERA - GoodBought a low-cost camera platform to reduce giggling during videos. Nothing fancy. I was hard to put together, but went on to the Phantom just fine. Very nice videos so far from my GoPro.END OF FLIGHT - Terrifying!!!On two of my first three flights, I ran the battery down to the end. Both time, some spooky auto pilot takes over. The Phantom will rise around 10 feet and move forward quite a bit. You have no control what-so-ever at this point. You just have to hope for the best. The second time, I did it on purpose. Had the Phantom hovering right in front of me watching the battery. Suddenly, it lifted up around 10 feet over my head [again, the controller was useless]. Then started moving away from me slowly. I almost had a heart attack as it moved slowly toward the road full of traffic. But it did stop around 30 feet from where it started and slowly descended to the ground. I would hope autopilot might do it's thing, but allow the controller to still override that. Was terrified.OVERALL ASSESSMENT - Worth the MoneyThis was an excellent flying experience. I am already thinking about buying a better gimble for the camera. Felt very confident doing everything. High in the air or fast along the ground. Excellent machine. Keep track of your time. Do not push the battery to the limit. Lots of potential for disaster. I bring a stopwatch with me to monitor flight time. I only allow myself 15 minutes of flight. Maybe there is a mode I can adjust to stop this from happening. Unfortunately, It will take me forever to learn how to do it.Buy this and enjoy it. If you are smart, you won't regret it.

Good experience
Works great! Easy to setup, use, and fly. What else do you want?P.S. don't buy the prop guard, just lots of props. You'll break them and the prop 'guard' does nothing to prevent this.

I'm not sure how good the product is but their customer service is disappointing ...
I can't speak to the product but I have been trying to reach a tech representative from DJI regarding some questions about their product, for the past 40 minutes. They pick up the phone then disconnect me, twice. You can't talk to anyone regarding sales of the product, you must email them. I'm not sure how good the product is but their customer service is disappointing and hopefully is not a representation of the product.

Great flyer, that isn't very reliable, and is prone to ignore the transmitter.
This gets four stars for usability, quality of flight and stability. However, reliability, setup and durability gets maybe 2 stars.Quality of flight:When this quad is in proper form, it flies excellently! It is extremely powerful, and precise. This is an EXCELLENT platform for video cameras.Reliability:That is where this craft falls very short. This quad is like a little princess. If you take a steel Allen wrench anywhere near it, you might as well just go ahead and re calibrate the compass, which is a silly ordeal by itself. It is SO easy to knock out of wack. You have to be REAL careful with it. Anytime you work on it, be prepared to recal the IMU, and re-calibrate the compass. You must turn IOC on in the Phantom 2 software assistant, and even when you do, home lock, and course lock only work half the time. It is extremely unreliable. NEVER EVER RELY ON THESE PARAMETERS TO SAVE YOUR BUTT!Ease of setup:Another 2 star property of the quad. When you get it, you have to download multiple software products, and update all firmware, and set all the perimeters. One of which, Phantom RC assistant gave me a virus...I got a virus warning when I downloaded the product. I wrote an email to my anti virus software company to check it out. They told me it was a false flag, and when I installed that program, I had my internet stop working, and I had to re-image my machine, and hunt down all sorts of exe files that were causing problems.Do I trust this device?NO! I am expecting it to fly off at some time. On the third flight, I had to bring it down for a crash landing. It stopped following the instructions I was giving it, so I lowered it to the ground to try and regain control. When it wouldn't, I ditched it in the grass. My Experience:Extensive experience tuning, fixing, and flying the 350QX.Would I recommend this to a friend?Only if they had money that they could afford to use, were technical, and understood the craft can be unreliable and will need to be constantly fiddled with. Otherwise, no, get something more reliable. You can see my experiences with the phantom 2 by going to youtube, and typing "Mark Daniel Imaging"
