I work full-time at a busy Goodwill donation center, which means I am on my feet for hours on end, constantly moving between concrete warehouse floors and the retail showroom. Finding a shoe that can handle constant walking, lifting, and sorting without leaving my feet throbbing at the end of the day has been a major challenge—until I tried the New Balance 577v1. Ordered these after returning a pair of disappointing Rockports. The New Balance size is 1/2” larger than I usually buy, based on customer reviews. I am glad that the E width actually is as advertised, unlike the Rockports. These shoes are slightly snug, so I wear thinner socks with them. Works perfectly. My pair is made in Vietnam, which in my many years of experience has shown to generally be of better craftsmanship/quality than China or India. I’m hopeful that these will last for several years. The creaking that many reviewers have noted is a reality, but trivial in my opinion. I’m not sneaking up on anybody. I like the style. Fits in for most occasions.

Nice quality and more importantly COMFORT at a decent price, what's not to love.

The all-black design is clean, sleek, and versatile enough to wear casually or for work. They don’t have that bulky “orthopedic” appearance that some comfort shoes do. Not my shoe, but he's got big feet and he likes this brand, he likes this shoe. Goes for a morning walk everyday so I guess they're great for walking.

I'm returning these. The fit was not the same as other NB shoes I've bought in the past. I bought a 14 narrow (13 B width on a Brannock device). The length was the same as my old NB shoes. The overall fit on these is much too narrow / tight. The eye stay panel on this model leaves a very wide gap over the tongue giving a rather strange appearance. No doubt a way to save a little on materials. I cannot tell if the upper is real leather. No more mail order shoes for me. ---- Update: Amazon refunded me by issuing a gift card instead of crediting my Amazon Visa. It took some doing, but I think this will be changed to a Visa card credit. We'll see. I have to go through the nuisance of checking again. Thank you very little Amazon. I was a loyal New Balance customer for decades. The only shoe I wore was the discontinued 706 V2 postal walker. It was perfect for me. The last time I tried to communicate my displeasure about this I found NB does not want to hear your comments / complaints unless it is over an order you placed. Regarding AZ service: The box arrived in good condition on time. The shoe box inside was heavily damaged on one end, although the contents were in good condition. Something that happened in the warehouse I suppose.

The shoe is very comfortable. it is not as bulky as the Nike Monarch but it started to squeek or creak as I walked. I tried several things to stop it and nothing worked.

These aren’t very comfortable. They also make an awful creaking sound whenever I move. Started out extremely loud but got quieter. Still there though.
