STAR POWER!!!...I mean, OVERDRIVE!
Heck yes! I ordered these to use for Rock Band 4 on the Xbox One. Its USB connected so works with whatever device.Sometimes I yell "Star Power!!!" to activate overdrive...because...there's just nothing left to say.I haven't had any problem with ambient noise activating overdrive, but because we're careless and talk and laugh during interludes, that'll do it. It "listens" well and hears pitches and beats accurately. We'll sing side-by-side, loudly, and s'all good. No problem netting a 5-Star on Hard. (Expert's a whole 'nuther story.) Thinking about grabbing up a third for those songs with 3-part harmonies.

Good quality sound
I got this microphone to use with Joysound Karaoke on Nintendo Switch (available in the Japanese eShop). In Japan, they are still selling this microphone with a "compatible with Switch" sticker added to the packaging. Until now I was using some Rock Band microphones that we got from a used game store. They do work but if you try to sing relatively loudly, the sound gets blown out really easily and just turns to garbage. The consequence is that the WiiU microphone doesn't pick up quieter sounds like the Rock Band mics do. However I think this is better for karaoke use so you aren't picking up every little rustle. The on/off switch on the WiiU mic helps avoid this a lot too, while the Rock Band mic is always on.I didn't get my hopes up too much, but I was hoping using the Nintendo microphone would improve the lag time in Joysound too. Unfortunately it seems to be the same. Not surprising as I already have an external speaker attached directly to the Switch, but I heard that the official mic may work better with Joysound's lag calibration. In any case, overall it's a much better experience than using Rock Band microphones.

Rock Band 4 mic replacement
We got this as a replacement for the mic that came with Rock Band 4 (for the Xbox one). (These USB mics are interchangeable and will work with any console that accepts USB mics.)Previously my wife and kids were complaining about the RockBand 4 mic not being as sensitive to the 'tamborine taps', and not picking up their voices as well as past mics have. This Wii U mic has been working out 100% better though! Well worth the 8 bucks.% out of 5 would buy again!

Not what I thought
Did not meet expectations but as described. This item should have been wireless. However I cannot find a use for it for the games we purchased. We thought it would at least playback on the karaoke portion and it did not. Waste of money on my opinion for let's dance game.

Nice sturdy microphone compatible with many systems at awesome price!
Compatible with Nintendo Wii (not just Wii U), PS3 - I was using the mic to play Joysound and it works pretty well. The mic is sturdy, the cords are long - the price is super reasonable - I bought two and had a blast karaoking through these mics!

it is still loads of fun to use with the game
I will say the product does its intended purpose and works well. For us, we bought it to work with Just Dance and the kids could sing along as we danced. My issue is with the quality and the fact that is called a Microphone. What we expected was to be able to hear our voice in the game as we sing along. What it actually does is just checks to see if you’re hitting the tones and gives you a score based on that. Not sure if that is how it works for other games or just in my experience. However, it is still loads of fun to use with the game.

Xbox compatible , Wins my vote
Oddly, I bought this for use with the XBOX one and 360 rockband games. Works perfect, feels MUCH more sturdy than the ones that are made for xbox.NOTE: it will not be recognized by the xbox if you have it shut off.Check that first if you have issues saying please connect microphone

Does work with some Wii games... but maybe Japan-only?
We got it for Karaoke Joysound: WiiWare Edition (Japanese Wii). Despite it saying that it doesn't work with Wii games, there was an update to this app that enabled use of the Wii U microphone, and it works perfectly with it. It's far cheaper than the other options, and so far it seems very high quality. Couldn't be happier with it!
