These are comfortable and effective, especially if inserted with an applicator (such as B08FZLYQST) to get them in high enough to act on muscles and not irritating the sensitive anal tract. But don’t limit these to painful constipation! They are perfect for bringing about a BM if you know that you’ll be away from a toilet or if you’ve lost the urge from having to hold it in. The bit of moisture these draw in ensures that you’ll avoid any straining, and wiping is actually easier! I have an enlarged prostate (BPH) making it hard to pee if anything is down near my rectum, so I use these more often for urinating easily than for constipation. I also routinely use these first thing every day or two while traveling where usable facilities may be infrequent. I certainly think of these more as hygiene aids than as medication. Because these work rapidly and locally, in the bottom few inches and not on your whole intestine, they will cause little dependence if used when your usual time is expected; it can actually reinforce regularity. Don’t put these off till you are miserably uncomfortable and your colon is distended: that is way worse for you and also definitely feels much worse. Not 5 stars because I prefer the bullet shape over these cone-shaped tablets, but that it a personal quirk.
