YYXLIFE Double Sided Carpet Tape for Area Rugs, Hardwood Floors, 2" x20YD

I have two area rugs that travel more than me. We are talking major trip and fall hazards. These were replacement rugs that were purchased to replace two other nonskid rugs that were not safe. I tried the nonskid pads under the rugs, which were useless. I saw this on Amazon and ordered it. My husband reported good luck with it on job sites. I cut 2-3 inch squares for all four corners. I used scissors, but the tape stuck to the scissors. An box cutter blade was only slightly better, but the adhesive comes off the cutting surfaces with Goof Off. This stuff is strong and immediately stuck my nonskid area rug to textured luxury vinyl flooring. It appears to be holding well. I have no idea how it will come up, but other reviewers indicate it is not a problem to take the rug up and does not leave residue?!?! I will try and add to my review if there are problems with this tape, but I am very optimistic! ****Back to update review (12/16/24) this tape provided death grip on our area rugs with a nonskid back...I was able to reposition one of my little entry rugs; on the second rug the tape pulled the rug fibers thru the back of the nonskid rug, essentially killing it in that spot. I just have to be prepared for the death of the first rug when I go to move it for cleaning or repositioning. I am still impressed with this tape, it held the rug securely and didn't leave residue on the floor. I will now look for a small entry rug without the non-skid feature or a HEAVY entryway matt that will not travel. The area rugs have to be very low so the door can pass over them.

This double sided carpet tape was perfect! I used it to take a nonslip pad under three rugs. It is super sticky and holds. I would definitely purchase this again.

A relative recommended this to me & at first I wanted to talk ugly using it but then I read to use a knife to cut. It works great! Do recommend. Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is it is hard to cut.

Trying to get my house ready to sell and decided to add rubber treads to my basement steps. When I calculated what I would need for 11 steps, 20 yards ended up being the right amount. I was able to put three vertical pieces on the rubber tread from the back up to where the tread begins to fold over. I added two smaller pieces on the back in between the vertical pieces. Next, I added a 24" piece to the rounded part of the wooden tread. I removed the top part of the tape and then carefully place the treads down. The tape is not permanent unlike a strong liquid adhesive so the next owners can remove by using a hair dryer to warm up with tape. The tape is not super thick yet durable enough to grab and hold onto everything. I just made sure I pushed down firmly when adhearing it to both sides. I used a sharpe razor blade to cut through the tape.

Very sticky, excellent hold, thin and no bulges in rug, reasonably easy to clean from solid surfaces (wood and tile floors). This is my third roll—lots of rugs. Last project was an outdoor rug on a screen-enclosed porch with a tendency to curl up on the edges. Problem solved. Downside? Thin and sticky, hard to cut with scissors. Directions recommend using a knife. Better: Save a piece of backing paper. The paper is pulled from the underside of the tape and attached to the floor. The top then has backing paper but the underside does not. Cover the exposed sticky surface with a piece of backing paper where the cut is to made. Use scissors to cut through the tape covered top and underside with backing paper. The scissors cut easily.

The rug in my Home Office kept rolling up and bending up each time I rolled my office chair, so I brought this carpet tape and it is excellent. My carpet has not moved since placing it several days ago. It sticks sticks really well, and it appears to be good value for the money. Currently, I cannot speak about any residue with removal because I have not tried to remove it. It seems to be serving its useful purpose. The color of the tape is clear underneath the white paper. So far, I can attest to making a good choice.

I’m going to give this 5 stars though I’d give it 4.5 if I could. I cut a half inch slice off the roll - just enough to put at the four corners of a rug to keep them from slipping on the tile. That works great. But because this tape is kind of thick and very sticky (as it should be) it leaves sticky residue on my scissors that I can only get off with rubbing alcohol and elbow grease. I wish they’d make this tape segmented so I could just take off a piece instead of having to cut it. Maybe I’m the only one that uses it this way thus the 5 stars. But, it works very well for keeping rugs from sliding on tile. I’ve used other grippers but they just don’t last long nor do they work nearly as well as this tape.

I purchased this carpet tape to secure the corners of two carpet runners in my home (was constantly tripping over a curled-up corner of one carpet). As soon as I applied the tape, both carpets remained securely in place, corners no longer curling. I’ve applied this over laminate flooring, so haven’t tested to see how easy it is to remove the tape yet, but the flooring installer did assure me that it’s easily done if/when needed. So far, I’m very happy with the product. ***Edited to add: The front door of my house opens directly into my (tiny) living room. In order to protect my carpet from the constant in-and-out high traffic, I use a protective throw mat with a rubber backing to go in front of the door. Unfortunately, because that mat sits directly on the living room carpet, every time you step on it, the mat shifts. A lot. This was causing a tripping hazard, and I tried everything I could think of to prevent it. Nothing worked. Then I had an idea…what if I used some of this double-sided tape to adhere carpet to carpet? I was skeptical, but gave it a try. And it works! I applied the tape under the throw carpet about a month ago, and it has remained solidly in place the entire time; no shifting at all. Quite an improvement over having to readjust the moving carpet 3-4 times a day. All this said, I have no idea if the stickiness of the tape where it adheres to the living room carpet will affect the carpet long-term. But since I have no intentions of ever removing the protective throw mat anyway, I’m not worried about that. The tape resolved my ongoing fight with that mat quickly and easily. And to me, it’s made this product worth its weight in gold.
