We bought this product to support our whole house humidifier in the coldest, driest weather. We are using it in the master bedroom (approx. 12 x 20 with a vaulted ceiling). On the medium setting, it raises the humidity about 10% and runs about 20 hours before needing a refill (we use reverse osmosis water). The unit is easy to set up, refill, and clean (top rack dishwasher safe) and is no louder than a small fan. Occasionally there is a slight gurgling sound as the water level drops, but it's certainly not annoying. I'm a light sleeper and really don't notice anything. We have all noticed the improvement in our skin and noses, plus our cats are happy to be rid of all the static. We are very pleased with our purchase and highly recommend this product.

It's a great humidifier. It is big, but it works. It doesn't leak, has a consistent sound, and is low maintenance. Don't waste any more money gettin Vicks stuff. I wish I had found this sooner.

Because my baby was a newborn in the winter months, my pediatrician highly recommended that we place a humidifier in whichever room the baby sleeps in. According to my pediatrician, newborns are used to a very humid environment and a humidifier helps them breathe easier. I am very thankful that I purchased this large-tank model. All winter i ran the humidifier on high and was filling the tank every day or two. I definitely noticed that when it was turned off, the baby would have crusty boogers that bothered her. See user manual here on Amazon (or Google it) for cleaning instructions and replacement part numbers. Pros- lightweight (do not move when device is filled.) Large tank is a MUST if you operate it 24/7, and also makes it easy to clean. Tank and base are dishwasher safe on the top rack on short or normal cycle. Do not wash with other dishes. Gasket and outer case are easy to clean with vinegar and bleach. Filter is easy to clean and replace. Has a couple of accessories, such as a humidity level reader that I plan to buy. Cons - Disappointed that the humidifier and filters are so expensive. If you see them on sale snap them up! Also disappointed that the white model was so much more expensive than the black one - my nursery is all white except for this, lol. The tank has a strangely designed handle that you may need to clean by hand. Filter replacements are a little pricey - be sure to clean your filter regularly to extend it's life. Note, filter may become rust colored from mineral deposits, but that can be cleaned off.

It’s so quiet! I love my humidifier. I have sjogrens disease. Which causes a dryness of both the eyes and mouth. It’s been easily managed with a dry mouth mouthwash and eyes drops. But it has suddenly become more pronounced This humidifier has made a huge difference and I notice that I’m sleeping much better too. I selected this brand because a family member has the same one. They’ve had theirs for several years and are very happy with how it works out and how easy it is to maintain I’m older so I wanted one with a smaller water reservoir so it wasn’t too heavy to refill. I expected to need to refill every 5 days or so but it’s been 2 weeks. Love it

Long story, but the takeaway is that I really like this humidifier. I had a white one of these that someone gave me for free. I had no idea what a great thing they'd given me. I liked how it worked, but didn't like that it had a "filter" (really, more of a sponge) and I didn't like how huge it was. So I gave it away and bought a newer-sleeker looking humidifier for myself. My new replacement humidifier was the ultrasonic type (ultrasonic are the other main type of humidifier: they vibrate imperceptibly and the vibrations send a fog of aerosols into the air, which you can see and is pretty). It was compact, it was all black with no blue/white/whatever to make it stand out. I loved it. I loved it for about three months until it broke. The handle came off while I was carrying the water container back from the sink. Water everywhere, gruesome scene. So, I bought another humidifier (my third). Again, it was the ultrasonic type (because those tend to be the cute, compact, black ones). . . and again it broke after a few months. Not so dramatically this time, just quietly started leaking one day (didn't leak when I first refilled it, no. It waited until I'd left the room to begin leaking on an antique table. Oops). So, $150 later, I swore that I would never buy another humidifier again because the whole industry is garbage and all their products will betray you after the return period closes. Bummer. I lived in dry, cracking squalor for half a year before I finally broke down and went looking to buy another humidifier. Low and behold, my old trusty humidifier was back, in black (or nearly so -- the water bin is a blue stripe on the side). Yes, it's large. Yes, it has a filter that you have to replace (less often if you do it right). Yes, you can't see a pretty fog of water coming out of it to prove it's working. But I love it. It's simple, has less moving parts, and doesn't break. My parents have been using one of their own for a year and it's done great by them. Tips: - If there is water in the bottom tray (touching the "filter"--which is actually serving more as a sponge), keep the fan blowing. Don't let the filter sit in water. This will generally prevent the filter from getting moldy, so you won't have to replace it very often. - If there is no water in the bottom of the tray (the water has run out) -- stop the fan. Otherwise the fan heats the filter so much that the filter begins melting. Especially if the fan is on the highest level (I haven't tested, but I think maybe it doesn't get so hot at the lowest level). - This does get a little tough, to hit the sweet spot. It means when I leave the house, I either make sure the water is filled all the way and the fan on or that the water is gone from the bottom tray and the fan is off. - Open it up occasionally and look at the filter. You'll notice that it does yellow a little from when it gets too hot from the fan. I think this is OK. If you check it semi-regularly, you'll be able to see this and know the difference between this and any ick that would require you to replace the filter. - If you use an ultrasonic humidifier, you have to be careful about what surface you put it on because that surface gets a little wet. This humidifier is a mist humidifier, so the effect is slower but its physical reach is larger. So, that means that you can put the humidifier on any surface and it won't get that surface wet. - I use tap water.

This little Humidifier is great. I shopped for a month on Amazon looking for something small to medium size for a one story ranch home. In the past I have had the large 2 - 3 gallon units but could not stand the loud fans. So I promised myself when it was time to get a new one noise and convenience would be the big selling points. I took a chance on this medium size Honeywell. It is a great size to fit in a room, it disassembles fast and fills amazingly easy. The tank is maybe a gallon capacity and just pulls out of the frame for refilling and is not heavy when filled. The handle makes it easy to carry and load back in to the frame. Not sure if the blue light to kill bacteria helps but I am believer in it. Everything now a days has an LED light as germ killer. You can barely see it and it goes out automatically when you disassemble the frame from the base. The filter is paper and is getting discolored so I've purchased the life time filter but haven't installed it yet. The fan is whisper quiet on the low of 3 speeds. I do not hear it unless I get within 1-2 feet away. The 2 and 3 speeds are louder and I'm sure push more moisture in to the air faster. I leave mine on the low quiet speed all day long and fill the tank before I go to bed and its still 1/4 to 1/5 filled when I remove it. I have two humidity monitors and both read 30-40% most of the day. I have a large living room with a fireplace which is where I keep it, kitchen, dining room, hallway and bathroom that get any of the air circulation. The bedrooms are too blocked off and too far. So I don't expect much flow there. I have a fire place insert I use for heat all winter long in Western NY. I do have baseboard heating but enjoy the wood burning heat so its a backup. I believe I made a great purchase after a long research period so much I bought another for my 90 year old fathers assisted living apartment. His baseboard heat is set to 80 all day long all season long. It has been keeping the humidity level at 20-30% and is set to the quiet speed. I only have to fill his unit once a day too. I have a chronic cough and have allergies, especially to my cats, so I have used a humidifier for a few years now. My last unit, was small in size but big on features. It had a timer, ion mode, humidity sensor, night mode and so forth. It also had a cool looking 'modern' design. HOWEVER, all that charm was useless when it died after 1.5 years. The electronics control pad went wonkers and after going back and forth with the manufacturer, I decided I would not take up their offer on a little bit of credit towards their 'new and improved' model. No thanks. And so I came back to Amazon to shop for a replacement. As first I was searching out complicated models with cool features. But then I realized... I need the thing to work, put moisture in the air, not to drive me nuts filling it (or spilling water while I refill it) and not through bacteria in the air due to a hard to clean design! So I threw away my 'short list' and looked for EASY and DEPENDABLE. And settled on this guy. It is small, quiet in its low and mid setting. At night, I bring it to my bedroom and set it on the lowest setting. During the day, I put it in the bedroom and set it to mid-level. The highest level can be noisy, but I find that mid level I can get to 57 relative humidity. Overall, I am VERY happy. I put one of those special cartridges that goes inside the water tank that helps to kill bacteria (lasts for 3 months and sold on Amazon) as a precaution. I switch out the water everyday as well. If this is on your shortlist, stop pondering, just buy it. Oh, one last thing... I expected to see 'fog' coming out of the unit like my old one. But the mist is invisible. For this model, that is normal.

It's sad, but good humidifiers don't really exist anymore. I searched for over a year across half a dozen online retailers to find a humidifier built from premium materials, ease of service, and the ability to clean the fan. I gave up on that search when I ordered this humidifier, fully expecting mediocrity. That was the experience I have had thus far. The gimmicky UV light feature is kinda cool, though I can't actually tell if it's working since it doesn't emit any visible light. It's fairly noisy compared to some other units I've owned in the past, but I don't really mind the noise either. My big complaint comes down to the cheap plastic build quality, poor design choices, and the fact that the fan is not easily accessible for service. I do not want to buy a humidifier every year. If I'm already paying for multiple filters a month, I shouldn't also have to throw out my humidifier when it gets dusty. I also don't like the top-heavy and plastic design of this. If you want to flip or change the filter, you either have to lift the entire fan housing + water tank together off the base, or you have to remove the water tank and then lift off the fan housing. Either way, it's a pain and both components must be removed. I also just wish I could purchase a humidifier crafted from corrosion-resistant metal like stainless steel or alloyed aluminum that would last a lifetime but alas, such a thing is not available. At the end of the day this is one of the better humidifiers on the market (which is why I'm giving it two stars) but that really isn't saying much. Edit: I had to recycle the unit. Without any convenient way to clean the units fan without water, it became a useless dust bunny. I recycled the unit. I won't buy another Honeywell product unless it's designed with ease of maintenance in mind. Avoid this product. It only lasted on year. I attempted to clean it, but the product is not designed for user disassembly.

I bought this humidifier over 5 years ago and it is going strong. Just take care to clean it about once a week with vinegar and rinse and flip the filter daily (and replace it when it gets crusty - but it lasts a long time before that happens) and it will work very well. I keep it running close to 24 hours a day, often on high, but switch to medium or low for very quiet operation. It is apparently rated for use in a room up to 400 square feet, but it does a great job in my 700 square foot apartment, all throughout the very dry Ontario winters. It raises the humidity from 20-25% to 35-45% which makes a significant difference. Helps alleviate dry skin, eyes and nose. I keep it on a little rolling metal cart from IKEA, which makes it very easy to move around. Very highly recommended!

Honeywell warranty not available in India on humidfier. The seller is a real fraud, i dont think the items imported are used ones... The humidifer stoped working within 5-6 nights only... seller took it from me for refund, its been more than 20 days and no call/reund from seller... its really disheartening, after buying the premium product i have to face such an experience.... The seller is a real fraud... pls dont buy... its a clear recommnedation from my experience. Otherwise, be ready for such an experience. Choice is yours because the money is yours.. Anyways the filter turned yellow within 2 days of use (that too after i used only mineral water).

I love this product. It has a pleasing design, is lightweight, easy to use, quiet, and has the features I need. I had a nagging cough for 2 months, and when I finally got serious about treating it, I bought this humidifier for the bedroom. (not covid19; I've been tested 3 times). I noticed a difference immediately. The room just felt more comfortable. I run it 24 hours, refill the tank once/day. The quiet mode for evening is very quiet. Every once in a while the water tank gurgles, but that's all I hear. I have a very curious labradoodle, but he doesn't have any interest in it.

It certainly humidifies a bedroom! This was an upgrade from an old one. I find the steam (which is invisible) cleaner than my old one. It doesn’t have a stale smell to it which was a common issue I had before. I like that this one has a filter too because tap water might be ok to drink but I’m not sure about inhaling fluoride and bleach. I deducted stars from “easy to use” because I need to fill the tank in the bathtub since it doesn’t fit in my sinks. I also am not a huge fan of having to flip it over to fill the bottom of the tank and that, in the upside down position, it’s unstable so you must hold it continuously to fill and then screw on the lid. My old one you could just dump water in it which required a water pitcher, but was, in my opinion, easier. Maybe it’s just because I’m currently pregnant but kneeling beside the bathtub waiting for it to fill up and then trying to get the cap on without it tipping over is tedious and physically uncomfortable. If I was old, had a bad back, or no bathtub I wouldn’t recommend this item. However, it’s a good humidifier, quiet, and clean.

Used this for my bedroom and I really like it because it's not a warm air humidifier as I often get too hot whilst sleeping. Nice and quiet on the low setting for sleep. Can make the room a little colder feeling from the humidified air in the colder days but I have been waking with clearer breathing since starting to use it. I bought a thermometer/hygrometer as well to keep an eye on the temperature and humification and on the high setting it humidifies the room quite quickly (3.5m sq room)
