The consistency was perfect. Hulvah does come a bit oily which is to be expected for this treat. If it is too dry, it gets crumbly and is not pleasant to deal with. Any excess oil can be blotted off by a paper towel. I've eaten hulvah for many years and this order was perfect in all aspects. Thank you.

Product as described

A lot of my packages are pretty good. Nice and neat. But lately, packages have been coming crushed, busted open with my medical supplies falling out, 5 12-packs of soda busted up in transit from getting slammed around. Today, I sent a gift to my brother, and it, too, was busted open, and was handed to him straight from the driver himself.

This product is handmade Kosher style particularly for the upcoming Jewish Holidays. I grew up in Brooklyn. Halvah is hand made under strict Hasidic law. I have been eating it for over 60 years. I eagerly opened up the can I received yesterday with my grandchildren. We now live in Colorado and promptly took the can away before they could dig in and cut pieces off. The can was liquid, malodorous and basically mush. If you cannot refund my purchase at lease stop selling this product for safety. It is rotting inside the can. Please inspect it. I am a nurse and know that this product is dangerous. It should be dry, and solid. Please consider refunding me. If not please at least prevent someone else from getting very sick.

I was introduced to Halvah when I was young and employed to clean house and entertain the teen daughter of a Jewish business owner. I found the unique flavors and textures to be quite satisfying. The slight crunchy texture, the hint of sesame, how it kinda stuck to my teeth like a butter finger and how it was both sweet and savory made it quite intriguing. I became a life long fan. I live in Ohio so unfortunately it has became increasingly difficult to find. Amazon has become my doorway to other countries food items such as the Dubai Chocolate bar and England’s clotted cream. Joyva did not disappoint. The Halvah came packaged in a metal can and was a bit oily. The plastic lid to reseal once opened had a cut in it so I promptly removed the candy from the tin and wrapped it in paper, placed it in a ziplock baggy and refrigerated it. After it cooled the texture and taste was as I remembered. I will say it was not quite as tasty as Bernies Bagels and Deli’s (no longer in business 😢) Halvah however I definitely will purchase again from Joyva!

Great to find this old brand and great to be able to taste and revisit halvah, this delicious sesame seed confection.

Dry. Oily. Bitter. NOT a good product.
