King of sharpeners. Would be even awesome if it could accept bigger pencil. The material is solid plastic. The shaving container can take in enough shavings. Color is Smokey, I guess you’d be fine getting the transparent as well. It’s compatible with 95 percent of pencils, but very big pencils will not fit, for example luminance caran fits but it’s slightly thicker and scratches the top of the pencil, but sharpens it just Beautiful. It’s versatile in terms of the sizes of sharpening, like it can make it a top large sharpened or give your a smaller tip.

Great sharpener and love the adjustability. Doesn’t work for my Faber-Castel-Albrecht Durer watercolor pencils (they are 6-sided and don’t fit) . Works great for Derwent water color pencils, Blackwing, Inktense is snug but fits, CaranDAche also snug but fits.

I bought the clear colored pencil sharpener for sharpening my colored pencils and it works great. I used them on Faber Castell and Prismacolors and both were able to get very sharp with minimal breakage. I would suggest for artists to not sharpen them too much because there will be some breakage at that point. The toggle to change the angle of sharpness comes in handy for that purpose. The opening to empty the pencil sharpener may be slightly difficult to use for those with mobility issues (I injured my thumb so I can’t do it smoothly) but I was able to get it open. The green color pencil is one I didn't sharpen, and the other pencils were sharpened using this sharpener. The red pencil’s wood was damaged a while ago and I was never able to sharpen it with anything else without the wood splitting even further but this sharpener works!

This is a lovely pocket sized sharpener that will do wonders for your colored pencils in a pinch, but it's not for me. It's simple to use, and made well enough that it should last. It slices through wood like butter, and sharpens easily and beautifully, with a lovely smooth motion. Unfortunately, it won't stop sharpening. I'm used to auto-stop sharpeners that will stop once the tip hits a certain point - this doesn't do that. My Swordfish and CARL sharpeners, while larger and also more expensive, do a better job at getting a great point without taking a half inch off of my pencil. It does work well, but you've got to use a lot of care to make sure you're not over-sharpening and being wasteful.

Saw a you tuber use this brand and make. As a crafter it helps to see what other crafters use with very good results. Well, count me a happy user too. What a fantastic sharpener for my costly colored pencils. No ragged edges, no wasteful shavings, or blunt points. If you have a crafting friend this is a very nice stocking stuffer to give. They will be very appreciative I’m sure.

This is the world best sharpener! Even better than all Germans (they also got this wrong). This is the ONLY company in the world that UNDERSTOOD the assignment! They are Japanese, no surprise there! The widest possible angle is the best and critical for all colored pencils which break with feather touch. The colors today are amazing but soft like clay or brittle. Every color pencil even German ones break with a light touch. The only way to fix this to have VERY wide angle and extremely short tip (60’-85’) instead of narrow and long tip. Narrow and long break and fall out on their own. Short and wide is held in even when you feel it is broken just few mm above the exposed core. No automated shapers (I have found) do this. They all fail miserably as well. Some products are sharpening pencils to grotesque needle (icepick) like contraptions (mostly China trash). Amazon has basically become China trash bin if you noticed. Ask: Kutsuwa, please make this in metal and sell replacement blades. Second make automated one, with the same features. Third think of adding features from other products like how sharp the tip should be. Combining both with two dials wold be epic. “#1 setting“ is what we want. In fact of you can push past this and make it even wider angle that would be great.

Absolute best sharpener for colored pencils, especially when you have different brands of varying hardnesses. Works really well giving a nice smooth tip at a variety of angle. Open and shake out to clean. Simple but effective design. Ikve sharpened pencils from blunt to a tip with no issue. Does not chew up your pencils or waste any core pigment,

All other American pencil sharpeners make the pencil too pointy and causes it to break. Then you are left scribbling with it just to dull it back down so you can continue writing. This sharpener when adjusted it to the (1) setting, allows you to be more precise with your lettering. This pencil sharpener is amazing for the price. If your a pencil user like myself this paired with the Ticonderoga black pencils will make you enjoy writing again! Don't look any further buy this amazing device (Not a paid ad)
