Bought product to use as a navigation system when out hiking. In comparison to custom built units this was less than half the price.Having now been out for a couple of walks the unit far exceeds my expectations. Having previously used both an older Android phone and a custom built unit to run my chosen software it has always taken a few minutes to establish an accurate location. This phone finds our location in seconds and even picks up the satellite signals indoors, something all of my previous kit has failed to do.The phone was simple to set up and to transfer accounts to from my previous unit. Phone also is not encumbered with loads of software that I usually have to spend hours removing as it wasn't required. It is a little thicker and heavier than most modern phones but actually feels sturdy and comfortable. Having been caught in two downpours since receiving the phone I can vouch that it is definitely waterproof.

Unfortunately I think the battery life spec is that of a phone that uses no apps. Spotify, Google, social media, maps etc.. are equally draining to the doogee s40 as it was to my previous sony phone.The phone microphones are terrible. I cannot make or take a call without an echo/delay, so using the loud speaker function is my only option.The sacrifice of storage and camera quality is not worth the added durability feature - which is excellent, but doesn't do anything a hard case wouldn't have resolved.The rubber seeled inputs for headphones and charging cable are also a faff, as they are something that are frequently in use. The headphone seel actually snapped off the first week after purchase, it is attached by only a thin rubber chord.. I was opening the headphone socket and with little force pulled it too far.

Absolutely brilliant. Exceeded my expectations. Battery life is excellent, I'm a fairly heavy user and I struggle to get it below 50%. Don't spend a £1000 on a phone. I fully recommend this phone and it is truly a bargain. Definitely no going back.

I did not try NFC yet and magnetic compass function is a little bit rough comparatively to my previous similar phone. But all other as specified. And in general I enjoy it.
