Looks cool, but there's something fishy about the quality...
OK, I watched the movie Blood into Wine the other day, and during that movie Maynard Keenan (from Tool,A Perfect Circleand and Puscifer) opens a bottle of wine with a similar opener. My jaw dropped, and I told my roommate, "I gotz to get me one of those!" I didn't verbally say "exclamation", but my tone showed him how excited I was. So I went to my friend, Amazon.com's website and started my search.A few clicks, and a few glasses of wine, and presto! Ordered up this little corkscrew. It came in a cardboard box, and really wasn't to impressed with the packaging. It seemed rather cheap, for a $30 opener. When I took a look at it, it was nice and heavy duty feeling. It was probably 3 in the afternoon, on a weekday, but hell, I had to try it out, right? So I grabbed a bottle of vino (that's Italian/Spanish/Slavik for wine, for you beer types... you know who you are. Wikipedia it if you don't believe me), and twisted this little bastard in. After the corkscrew was inserted, I pulled the scissor lift type fish tail thing and "POP" goes the cork.I happily poured myself a bottle of wine, and drank away like Friar Tuck and his delightful honey Mead....2 weeks later...I had a hankering for some wine, and wanted to show off my sweet fish wine opener to my girlfriend, so I pulled it out.. The Corkscrew sick-o! I twisted it in, tugged on the tail, and POP goes the cork! Girlfriend was impressed, I nodded and tried to flex my muscles, but I'm too fat and it wasn't impressive at all..As I tried to remove the cork from the corkscrew, I started having some troubles. The troubles being, the cork would not come out. I tugged and twisted, and then I felt it break loose. What broke loose was the adhesive holding the corkscrew into the device. Second use! What the hell I said, brows furled. Looking like a fool with my pants on the ground (Larry Platt, 2010), I looked at my girlfriend and shrugged my shoulders. Since the cork was stuck on the corkscrew, and that was now in my hand and the Fish was in the other, I just had to pour glasses of wine. Later, after the wine, I had to use a pair of needle nose pliers to get the cork off.I added some locktite and re inserted the threaded corkscrew into the fish's mouth. I haven;t tried it since, But I'm hoping it works.PRO's- Looks Good, nice design- Feel's heavy DutyCON's- Price, a bit much.- Quality, the corkscrew came out!

Great gift for wine lovers
it is very easy to uncork a bottle with this. And, if you know of an angler who needs a cork puller, this is the one.

Hard to remove Cork
I'll echo the other reviews: Once you have successfully removed a cork from a bottle, which this guy does a pretty good job of in spite of being more of a novelty than a real bottle opener, it's a pain in the butt to get the cork off of the corkscrew. There's nothing easy to hold onto when doing this. If you try to hold the far end, you lose leverage, and the middle part flops around everywhere. It looks great, but I'd leave this out and use a regular corkscrew.

A wine bottle is just a means of shipping cork around the world.
So you're here because you watched Blood Into Wine. Instructions: Buy it, then remove the corkscrew bit (it's threaded into the body), apply strong thread locker onto the corkscrew threads, wait for the thread locker to cure (re-watch the documentary while you wait), then use. This tool is probably only worthwhile if you're an MJK fan. Otherwise you'll find reasons to complain about it (see other reviews).

multi lever works great but
love the shape and weight and over all design. The cork screw easily removes both synthetic and natural corks, however some synthetic corks are tough to remove from the screw its self. That could be my girlfriend stoking my ego as she hands askes me if i can remove the cork for her. Some corks may not fit in the bottle again to reseal the bottle afterword or may leak due to over penetration by the screw.

A bit disappointed. The cork screw is somehow sticky with corks ...
I have had a Fish for about 20 years. Mine finally broke, so I got this one. A bit disappointed. The cork screw is somehow sticky with corks and while opening the bottle is easy, removing the cork from the screw takes some effort. I would not recommend for every day use.

Cool Corkscrew!!!
Purchased this unit after seeing it featured in a movie, Blood into Wine. It's cleverly constructed device that applies leverage thru it's scissor action, aiding in cork removal. Only complaint I have is that the cork can be a little difficult to remove from the Pisces Corkscrew if you screw into the cork too far.

This certainly is a cool way to open your bottles
This certainly is a cool way to open your bottles. The only thing was, after a few times this was used, I discovered the corkscrew does come out. You can screw it back in but it comes out when you try to open a bottle.I applied JB weld to this and I havent had the problem since. Cool product, cheaply produced.
