As far as I can tell this is a real horn comb, the reason I bought it is because I have curly hair and bristle brushes or fine tooth combs break up my curls and can create frizz. So I usually carry a plastic wide tooth comb in my bag but eventually the teeth break off. So basically this comb is perfect for what I needed, a travel wide tooth comb that won’t break. It’s small enough to fit in any purse or pocket I have yet the the teeth are wide enough to not break up my curls. Overall I think it’s a pretty good price for exactly what I was looking for.

Over the years, I've bought a heap of combs. Tried just about every popular one out there, but was never satisfied. "Natural" combs are healthier for the hair and scalp, but the wooden ones I bought pulled my hair, and they eventually cracked. Plastic combs also pulled, plus they created static, and most of them had sharp teeth, which made my scalp tender. When I finally found these sheep horn combs, I ordered two. Love the compact size! Fits in my jeans pocket with room left over. These create no static, and the wide, rounded teeth are very gentle on the hair and the scalp. I feel that $11.50 is a reasonable price for a comb that can easily last a lifetime. Each one comes in a velveteen-lined box which is suitable for gift giving. And I can't imagine anyone who WOULDN'T like a comb like this! I'm on Amazon to buy more.....

This comb has a nice solid feel and does a good job of combing my thick but fine straight hair. It is a little small for everyday use but is perfect for travel and purse.

I read other reviews that said this comb was too small but I didn't really understand what they meant. I wanted a small comb for my purse but it is not the width of the comb that is so small, it is the length of the teeth in the comb!!! It might work better on dolls than humans. It is just barely usable which is too bad because the comb itself is very nice and I love it but the teeth are just too darned short!

Came pretty fast in the mail. I love this comb, it's very gentle on my hair. Plastic or wood combs snag and tear my locks. I have pretty fine hair, and for that the size is perfect - a person with thicker hair would probably want a bigger comb. I use this to detangle my hair, then a boar bristle brush for the rest. My breakage and frizz has been reduced to almost nothing.

There are ways to test a product to determine the difference between horn and plastic and guess what? This is a cheap piece of plastic made in China. Sending it back!

This comb has replaced my hairbrush because it doesn’t make static and it brushes my hair the best I’ve seen yet. I am thrilled with my purchase !!

It's really gentle on the hair and great quality. However, the size is really small! I would only recommend if you're getting it as a travel size comb to go in your bag.
