Outstanding product for diesel vehicles that are used for frequent short trips; therefore, preventing the vehicle’s DPF regeneration to finish which will cause DPF soot buildup. I have a 2013 Mini Cooper SD, and rely on it to get me everywhere due to my health. I monitor the car’s status using Bimmerlink, which allows me to monitor the DPF soot levels. On my car, if the soot level exceeds 30g of soot in the DPF, an error will be stored in the ECU under “digital diesel electronics”, and performance is reduced. To test the product I filled the tank up, added the recommended amount of DPF cleaner, and drove for 10-15 mins. I had already performed a regeneration recently from a long trip, so soot levels were around 8-10g. Without the DPF cleaner in the tank, I would see levels gradually increase as normal. However, it seemed with the cleaner added, soot levels have never exceeded 8.5g which is excellent. So to summarise, this is an excellent product if you drive a diesel that doesn’t get the opportunity to drive for around 30 minutes at a speed over 40mph once at month or so. This is so the exhaust can get up to a temperature that the DPF can burn off the soot during a regeneration. I could see the product working, because I have software and an ODB interface to monitor DPF conditions. This won’t resolve issues if your DPF is clogged with oil or excessive amounts of soot, as this usually requires the removal of the particulate filter, and ultrasonic cleaning performed to get the DPF back to working condition.
