Love love love it!!
This one of those items that you didnโt realize you needed until you get it it is so handy. It works for my smoothies in the morning my cocktails in the evening. I will definitely buy another one if this one breaks the price is right and itโs a must have in your kitchen.

Not the best choice for a smoothie blender . . .
Let me begin by saying I did not purchase this to make smoothies. We have a NutriBullet for that. I'm a guy who bakes and cooks with allulose sweetener instead of sugar or artificial sweeteners. The holidays are coming and many of my recipes are going to call for powdered/confectioner's sugar. That form of allulose is insanely expensive ($10-$20+/lb here on Amazon.com), and I buy granulated allulose wholesale in 25 kg bags for less than $5/lb even with shipping from the East Coast to CA. So I needed something to grind the allulose into powder form. The NutriBullet doesn't work for this, because the blender needs to be shaken while ginding. So looking for a hand-held capable device, I came across this kitchen tool, and purchased a "used-like new" device for more than $7 less than a new one, and figured I would give it a try. I could always return it if necessary as a Prime member. It was delivered in less than 24 hours. When I unboxed it, the item had obviously been taken out of the box, but it also looked like it had never been used either. On first glance, this seems a little bit like a kid's toy (perhaps the reason it was returned). It is lightweight, and the motor base won't do well if it gets knocked off the counter, but it's not a toy. It's a pretty decent blender. I was able to powder about 5 lbs of allulose in 3/4 cup batches in about 35 minutes. I did have to shake the blender nearly horizontally, but it did exactly what I needed it to do. I would probably not recommend this item as a "portable" blender for making smoothies or other beverages, because it is a corded tool. There are any number of others in about the same price class that offer rechargeable battery power, which means you could take them to a park, the beach, or anywhere you didn't have access to a 120vac outlet. Most also offer blender jars with screw-on lids and bases. Here are the pros and cons: PRO: (1) low price, (2) high-speed motor, (3) thick-wall blender jar, (4) reasonably easy to clean, (5) friction-fit top doubles as a travel mug spout nol likely to come off accidentally or leak (but the sliding closure is not leakproof), (6) the blender jar locks fairly securely into the motor base, and (7) the power cord wraps neatly into a slot for this purpose built into the motor base. CON: (1) corded, not portable to a location without AC power, (2a) the blade assembly is integral to the blender jar and cannot be disassembled for cleaning (2b) if the blade or blender jar breaks, you might as well throw the whole thing in the trash, (3) the motor base is not likely to survive being knocked off the counter, it's pretty lightweight plastic, (4) the friction-fit blender jar lid does not come off easily . . . ladies, you are highly likely to break a fingernail trying if not careful (watch the comparison video with the NutriBullet and you'll see how the demonstrator struggles a bit with taking the lid off the empty jar -- imagine doing this with a full jar . . . the manufacturer's video doesn't even show this step, which ought to be a clue). I rated this 4-stars because it is a capable blender. It will make smoothies and other blended beverages. But I think there are a number of better choices at about the same price point for a new item. I simply opted for the 33% discount because it met my objective. If you, like I, have a need for a larger capacity grinder for spices, grains, seeds, or nuts, this should work well for that. But if your objective is something portable to make smoothies, I would look elsewhere.

Love it
Perfect for protein shakes. It is sturdy and big enough for a tall mug or just drink the shake from the jar jar measuring lines eliminate guesswork. Measuring lines on the front of the durable blending jar eliminate the need for extra measuring cups. Quickly prepare smoothies, icy drinks, protein shakes, milkshakes, salad dressings, baby food and more by just pressing the button on the Hamilton Beach personal blender. It's so simple. Made from hard plastic which makes it shatterproof

Love this Litte Blender
This is a super little blender. It does a good job of mixing up soft smoothies. Meaning those kind of smoothies with mostly soft and easy to blend up ingredients. It can take crushed ice and make it smaller but it has a rough time with full size ice cubes. The driving force for the blades is plastic and be aware that it will eventually break under heavy usage. I like this little blender just because it's so easily portable and lightweight. You can mix something up real easy do a quick rinse and then throw a little extra water and soap inside and blend that and rinse it again and it's completely clean! I got a second one as a gift for a friend's birthday because she liked mine so much. Again, don't expect this to be a Workhorse! I have one of the big brand names that begins with the letter n and that has a super duper motor and Metal drive train type deal and that thing will last forever. But for convenience and quick and easy to use, I reach for this little Hamilton Beach blender each and every time.

Good for single servings, but lid design is a big flaw
This works fine for single-serving protein shakes and smoothies. Itโs very lightweight, which makes it convenient for quick use. For simple blends, it does the job. However, the motor doesnโt seem very strong. If you blend for too long, thereโs a noticeable smell. The biggest issue is the lid. Itโs very flimsy and thereโs nothing locking it in place. It just kind of sits on top, so it comes off very easily. Thereโs a drink opening built in, but I donโt recommend using it. I accidentally knocked mine over and the lid popped right off since thereโs nothing securing it, and my smoothie went everywhere. Total mess. Overall, itโs okay for light, quick shakes or smoothies, but the lid design really needs improvement.

A great little blender
Well I just had to go back in my order history to find this little champ that I have been using for over a year now. I originally bought this because it was a cheap unit just to see if I would use it. Well I use it almost every day for frozen fruit smoothies and making pesto and it works great. Maybe more expensive ones would perform faster and I will upgrade if/when the time comes, but this little thing doesn't seem to want to quit.

I am shocked at all the great reviews, unless I just ended up with a ...
I am shocked at all the great reviews, unless I just ended up with a particularly bad unit. I was not expecting much from such an "affordable" blender - but the only reason for my purchase was to blend a single orange a couple of times a day. Not an apple, or carrots, but a single juicy orange. An inexpensive blender could do that, right? Well, technically, it can - with quite a bit of help. I would have to cut up the orange into pieces and make sure some were under the blades. OK, I understand why that would be as it would need something to catch onto when starting to blend. But, then I would have to repeatedly stop the blender and push more of the orange down under the blades - have to do this quite a few times, mushing the orange into more juice as I did it. I have done this twice a day for a couple of weeks. When I look at the base of the unit, it has a lot of white, fuzzy stuff all around the base of the unit. There are also tinges of green. The white particles are coming from the white plastic base attached to the motor. The green pieces are coming from the green, soft material attached to the blender cup. You can easily see the wear of both of these on the unit, so I would expect it not to last long. It might have performed well if I had added a good amount of water or other liquids to it -- but my expectations was that any blender should be able to blend something as soft and juicy as an orange without it causing wear and tear on the blades. I would usually end up with about 8 ounces, and I did not want watered down orange juice from having to add more liquid. As far as the lid goes, I only used it to blend with. I honestly would not trust it staying on when turning up to drink from because it only pushes on without a locking device. That was OK with me since it made it easier to take on and off to keep pushing the orange down into the blades. Also, I would pour the blended orange into another cup. I will try a different blender with higher wattage - turns out this one is only 175 watts. If I try one that is around 350 watts and it does not work well, then I should edit this review to reflect that - but hopefully I can find a small one to blend a single orange! Again, maybe tuis was just defective somehow to start with? I had ordered the blue one, and I will say I think the color is very nice.

Excelente producto
