DashSkin Dash Cover Compatible with 2007-2013 Chevy Silverado & GMC Sierra in Cashmere - Hard Molded Plastic Dashboard Cap

Transformative. Wish I could give it 6 stars. Stated with 2008 GMC Serria. 6 or seven cracks in dash. OEM Plastic just did not hold up to the sun. Looked bad and it rattled when you hit bumps. Finished with what people who have seen the completed project are calling looks like new. Not aware there is a cover glued on. Used the color code from glove box code sheet and matched that up with ordering info. My color was Titanium. Install is a bit fiddley. Lots of curves and shapes to check. I did trim one corner with Dremel tool about 1/16 inch. That took about 10 minutes as I trimmed re fit then trimmed again until there was a perfect fit. Take extra time playing with the fit. Don't be in a hurry to trim , it all come together very well. Do watch the manufactures YouTube install videos. Lots of good pro tips. For the weights I used 80 lbs of play sand in ten , 1 gallon zip lock bags. Placed them across the new dashskin. Also fashioned 3 sticks cut to length to hold vertical parts in place till the glue dries. one on each end and one from ceiling down to corner of glove box. Open the windows before you glue it down. Makes putting in foam end holders easy. I had the dashskin in place with no glue for 3 days and drove the truck seemed to fit better after riding around. Glued it per the instructions. then let it sit for 24 hours. The adhesive smells a bit like vinegar. The smell goes away at about 2 weeks after the install. Looks beautiful, color match was perfect, and surprise no rattles on the bumps. Perfect solution to ugly problem.

Great quality and fit, do not buy cheaper version like i did, should have went with this one from the beginning, you get what you pay for.

BEAUTIFUL TRANSFORMATION OF MY CRACKED UP DASH. THIS IS THE SECOND ONE I HAVE INSTALLED. I DID NO TRIMMING OF THE FIRST DASH SKIN. I DID SOME SMALL TRIMMING ON THIS DASH SKIN WHICH I THINK MADE IT FIT EVEN BETTER THAN THE FIRST DASH SKIN I INSTALLED ON A PREVIOUS TRUCK OF MINE. FOR THE TRIMMING I USED A DRMMEL WITH THE SMALLL BARREL SANDER ATTACHMENT WHICH ALLOWED ME TO MAKE A FEW TIGHT AREAS FIT EVEN BETTER. I USED ADJUSTABLE SPRING LOADED CURTAIN RODS TO PUT PRESSURE ON THE FRONT OF THE DASH WHERE THE PACKS OF COPY PAPER WOULDN'T WORK.

This is a great alternative to replacement of you dash. I recommend purchasing additional tubes of RTV Silicone Adhesive depending on how large your cracks or holes in the dash are. I had 2 large cracks and needed to place a bead of adhesive on each side of the crack before installing. Not Knowing, this took a good bit of the adhesive that was included, which caused me to run out after I started placing the adhesive on to the dash cover in the specified locations as instructed. So, I had to leave and go to AutoZone to purchase more. When I got back, the adhesive that I had put on the underside of the dash cover, had already hardend and was no longer "tacky". I then had to remove all of the previously applied adhesive. Note ( The adhesive applied on the cracks of the dash board, had done its job) Just in case, I then took the time to purchase another tube of adhesive (Even though I ended up not needing it). Once I reapplied the adhesive to the underside of the dash cover, the install was easy. TIps: Use pool noodles to squeeze between the windshield and the dash cover, then place several wet towels across the dash to apply pressure to mash the dash cover to the dashboard. In my '09 Silverado, I used two adjustable tension rods to place between the seat and the dash corners to place pressure on those areas.

I've had cracks in my dash for a while but it never bothered me. Then I installed a heavy 10" out dash display and my dash, the display, everything shook from the weight while driving. I bought jb weld but decided I didn't want it looking like it was just barely together so I looked into dash skins. So happy I landed with this product. Installation was a breeze if you follow the steps. Plenty of adhesive and fits like a glove. Tips: I added a ton of weight (mini pavers). But wish I would have weighted near the windshield. One corner isn't completely secured but I'll just add some adhesive and weigh it down. They recommend (extra credit) using something to press the front facing dash skin onto the existing dash. I wasn't going to but noticed it wasn't pressing in some spots. I cut some PVC and pressed them into the seat and the skin and next day the hold was perfect. No more dash movement and it looks phenomenal. Unfortunately, because it's a cover, over the glove box and secondary glove box there's an unavoidable lip/raise. That is the only place you'd be able to know it's a cover but it is darn close to being unnoticeable, even while knowing it's there. Very happy with this American made product for my (mostly) American made truck (09 Chevy Silverado).

I’ve used two of these , they both fit perfectly and were very easy to install , one on a dodge one on a GMC and they look like new .
