KastKing Crixus Baitcaster & Spinning Fishing Rod and Reel Combo

This is my first baitcaster after using a friend's $500 one. Obviously not as great but it feels very good and works just as it should. Can't beat the price for this thing!

I picked this up as my first baitcaster (and second KastKing combo) to complement my existing spinning setups. Much like the first KastKing combo I purchased, it came well-packaged, with the rod shipping in the mother of all cardboard packing tubes and the reel packaged in a retail-style box. No worries about broken or missing parts! Spun on a load of 15# braid with a fluorocarbon backer and leader and so-configured, it's a great largemouth bass setup. Once you get the brake and spool tension right, long dead-accurate casts become easy and 100% repeatable. The rod is just about perfect for your chunkier rigs, jigs and crankbaits, with just the right amount of feedback to let you know what's happening out on the business end of your line, while the reel delivers fast, smooth retrieves. Outstanding value for money and performed well beyond my expectations. It also doesn't hurt that everything is well-finished and looks sharp. Having used it pretty regularly for some time now, I have zero qualms recommending this setup to anyone looking for a solid baitcasting rig.

Great rod and reel combo, been fishing it for a month now. Only complaint is the handles on the reel wore out super quick. Other than that, been loving it.

I bought this rod for my son and his words will speak louder than mine. The KastKing Crixus baitcater combo is hands down my favorite combo I have ever bought and used. It has a very simple and easy use with extra added features for the perfect fishing experience. The rod has great sensitivity and great action as well as a very light and sleek looking design. The rod is very sturdy and holds up really well against some bigger fish. The reel holds a nice amount of line and it has a very nice retrieval and excellent casting range. The reel itself is very light and durable. The combo has a great color scheme that amazes other anglers and I have received many compliments and have been asked many questions about this combo. Overall this is my favorite combo and I recommend this combo to every angler out there looking for a new baitcasting combo.

High Quality, great instructions, feel like I got a great value Update... took the rod out for the first time yesterday snagged bottom and loaded the rod and it snapped in half just above the segmentation... not the tip, the middle of the rod. I have been fishing for many years and have never snapped a rod in half.... please advise on my options kastking...

I bought this rod specifically for bass fishing and I tell ya what, this rod is amazing! I grew up fishing as I had a lake in my back yard, I've used a lot of rod n reel combos in my life and let me tell ya, this legitimately is one of the best I've ever used! The reel is smooth as silk, the rod light as a feather. I already took it out fishing this afternoon and I can cast pretty far (about 35-40 yards I'd say). The tip reacts perfectly with the bait and fish, enabling you to set the hook the right way every time. Any bait I drag the bottom with, this rod allows me to feel everything I come across. Even though this rod is a 2 piece, KastKing wasn't lying when they said it is just as good as a 1 piece. Also both pieces fit together nice and snug. I have no worries about them coming apart any time, especially while fishing. Pick up this combo, you won't be disappointed.

I have many combo units in my collection, this one has not impressed me as much as I had hoped. My original order got lost in the shipping process some how, amazon refunded my money to order a replacement. The replacement was not what I had ordered so that one was sent back. after three tries I finally received what I originally ordered, I was happy to try it out for the first time. Took it fishing and noticed the cast was smoothish, but retrieval is a bit loud. Now I am past my return window and stuck with a combo that is not as anticipated. But at least I got to go fishing.
