Question 2

We are a family with many girls with long hair. How will this vacuum work with long human hair? Would it be better to get the animal?

I had the Animal Dyson for years. Was looking to replace it as it’s getting about 10 yrs old and smelled a little dusty. I bought this and am disappointed in how it does with long hair. I have to clean the brush literally every time I use or it it makes a burning smell. Once I clean the roller I’m good for another room or two.  Fortunately I hung onto the old Animal model and cured the smell with a good cleaning. Sure you need to clean the brush roll. Sure it collects a lot of hair. But the Animal doesn’t burn up, and I can put it off for when I’m ready to do it and not with a two room minimum! I gave it to my son who lives with a couple guys and they love it. My daughter and I totally need the Animal!

How does this model do with dog hair?  I know there is a Dyson model specifically for pets but it is way more expensive.

I've had this model for 4 years. I have a 4 year old and a German Shepherd and it's doing fine. The longer hair (that's mine) does get wrapped around the roller and I have to pull it off and clean it every now and then.

How is the attachment for the stairs? Does the stair attachment tool work good on stairs? the attachment seems small. Does it work well? thank you

This vacuum is SO HEAVY that it is hard to get up and down the stairs.   The tool is too small and the hose too short, to really clean a set of stairs.  You could - but it would take forever.  We had to go buy a new vac for stairs.  This tool is great for your car though!  We have not enjoyed this vacuum (me and my housekeeper) - because it is so big and heavy.  And it's suction is just ok...  I will go back to shark when we feel we have gotten our money's worth out of this.
