Accutire MS-4021B Digital Tire Pressure Gauge with 4 Valve Caps, 5-150psi (psi, bar, kPa, kg/cm2)

I purchased this tire pressure gauge after reading a review of it in a magazine. They claimed it was the most accurate and easy to use tire gauge on the market. They may be right. When I first began to use the gauge, I had some issues getting it to read correctly. It always read zero. After rereading the directions, I discovered that the gauge must be held onto the valve for a few seconds before removing it. I'm guessing this is because the gauge waits for the pressure measurement to stabilize or averages the pressure over time. This prevents an overestimation of tire pressure caused by the sudden surge of pressure out of the tire. (a problem I often have with mechanical "stick" type gauges) After use, this gauge also zeros itself by taking a measurement of the atmosphere. This ensures the gauge is always calibrated and ready to go. I find the digital readout very easy to read, and am pleased that I don't have to make perfect contact with the valve immediately to get a good reading (due to the delay in measurement). With mechanical gauges, I find I get a different value from the same tire if I measure it several times in a row. I usually had to take several readings and average them together to get an estimate of my tire pressure.(I'm a little obsessive about my tire pressure) With this gauge, I get the exact same reading every time I measure, eliminating the need to average my measurements. Best of all, the price is right!

Tire pressure gauges are about as unsexy a product as you can think of, but this one comes across as a top-notch example of industrial design. Its appearance is just as attractive when it’s in your hand as it is in its Amazon page photos. And in the best form-follows-function Bauhaus tradition, it invites you to hold it in a way that makes testing your tire pressures a simple, one-touch operation. Unlike some mechanical gauges I’ve had in the past, it’s easy to get a reliable reading with this digital gauge on the first try. Simply remove your tire’s valve cover, push the gauge's start button, then firmly press the sensor straight ahead onto the valve. (Don’t come at it from an angle.) In a fraction of a second it will get a reading and not let additional air escape. That reading will be to the nearest tenth of a pound. I believe its accuracy is to two tenths, and that’s plenty accurate enough. Going digital is such a nice change from mechanical sensors, which from my experience anyway would start the valve hissing with escaped air when trying to get a solid fit, and then hiss some more when removing the sensor. And mechanical gauges, even the fancy brass one I used to own, are notoriously unreliable. This little beauty is featherweight and doesn’t get dirty when you check your tire pressures, so it can live in your glove compartment. If you forget to turn it off, it will turn itself off after 15 seconds. The battery should last a year. And for the quality you get, the price is a bargain. If over time my experience with this product causes me to re-evaluate it, I’ll update this review. But so far so good! And one more tip: Go to Big O or another tire specialist and pay the $10 or so they charge to fill your tires to their recommended pressures (see the sticker inside the driver's door) using nitrogen gas. Unlike regular air, which tends to “bleed” from the tire over time, the nitrogen will stay put. Racing teams have known this for years and always use nitrogen. And now it’s available to you and me. My nitrogen filled tires have gone a year without losing more than a pound of pressure!

Love it no guessing trying to understand the reading of PSI. The original tire pressure gauges from years ago are hard to read. My first digital and Love this one PERIOD.

I have had excellent results with the older version . This newer version has a red back lit. It has a cover which allows the batteries (3)to be replaced. I ordered two units. One had totally dead batteries. The other works fine. Overall it was a good purchase.

This little Digital Tire Pressure gauge is fantastic! It is dead accurate, super easy to use, and read on the fly. It makes keeping my tires and my partner's tires where they need to be super easy and practical. This is far better than the old manual tire gauges that I grew up with.

This fortunately reads psi. It reads the same as another gauge I have and agrees with the car's TPMS so all three must be correct. I have an old version of this gauge from probably 20 years ago and it still works on the original battery. It's very easy to use and is highly recommended.

Accurate as expected

Excelente producto. Se ve claro, es preciso. Solamente a veces la valvulares negra como que si se afloja y se debe de apretar antes de medir. Para que la medición sea correcta se debe de medir en frio. Entonces carga las llantas a 6 psi más de lo que indica el manual. De ahí ya lo dejas la noche y en la mañana antes de partir lo dejas. Manejar con las llantas bajas causa el mayor desgaste y que exploten en carretera.
