Is the pressure regulator valve sensitive enough so you can accurately dial in lower pressure settings, such as 12-15 PSI?

Yes. There are marks on the regulator in 2 psi increments above 10 psi. I still use a MAC valve for very-fine tuning though.

It does make some noise, but it is not unreasonably loud. It is a very nice compressor,

when i pick up one of these. what all do i need besides teflon, hose and a airgun to get airflow throught the unit?

the only thing i found besides what you have listed i needed a 3/8 x 1/4 inch brass fitting /adapter i got at home depot to connect to my hose i already had because my air brush hose had a smaller connector..

The description says to drain accumulated water....how do I do that? Is that the only maintenance needed?

At the very bottom of the air compressor tank is the water drain valve. What I do is let the tank fill with air then slowly open the valve. Let any accumulated water bleed from the tank until it clears then shut the valve off. I've only done this a couple of times...most of the water I've had in mine is usually drained from the regulator drain (at the bottom of the clear plastic dome). I've had very little water in the tank itself and what usually comes out is a split-second mist of water and that's it. This should be the only maintenance needed.Are you using it indoors or outside? The environment you operate it in can have a bearing on how much water it accumulates.
