Zona 35-300 Medium Woodcraft Saw, 24 TPI, .015-Inch Kerf, Blade Length 6-1/2-Inch, Cut Depth 7/8-Inch

I bought this to replace a little Exacto saw that never really felt *sharp*, but had teeth and could cut through thin pieces with some effort. So my expectations weren't high. But this thing feels like a proper saw, just tiny. Really pleasant to use!

I’ve used this saw almost 10 years ago during my woodworking studies in Canada. I just got a couple of them for my students. It’s nice to discover that they’ve changed to cut direction to pull stroke instead of push. I find it much more comfortable with small saws. Not as sharp as a Duzuki but definitely gets the job done well, and for a great price. We use them for cutting dovetails. Refael Greenblatt, Israel.

I use a lot of exotic hardwoods, some of which are very to extremely hard. so these little saws do work, but they get dull relatively quickly with the really hard woods. Now that I can afford it more, I plan to replace them more often. the latest I think is my third one.

Zona saws are the best and they stay strait for accurate cuts. Could not recommend enough!!!

Great saw for the first step of cleaning out the empty frets.

EDIT: too narrow kerf for frets. Initial trials were on an oily rosewood fingerboard before gluing it to the neck with both stewmac and CB Gitty fretwire. With a 0.15kerf you get way too much resistance and need too much pressure / pounding! - Even more problematic on a somewhat springy support (like a fretboard already glued to the neck). - Even more so if not using rosewood (naturally oily) - best case is you'll end up having overly tight seat with too much stress which may crack or bow fingerboard. - worst case is you can’t seat the frets property at all without marring or deforming them Another critique point is the spine on the saw is not exactly parallel to the sawtooth line. It's a bit tilted (about 0.5 mm) which makes it hard to use the spine as a depth stopper. Verdict: Get a different one for fret slotting. Stewmac’s fretsaw has a kerf of 0.23 (only 0.08"more equals +50% though) for a very good reason. Original review: Bought for fret slotting. Works decently and fits most fretwire like a glove. Downside is you'll spend an eternity cutting harder wood but that's the price you pay for a fine, precise result

Exceeded my expectations. We use these saws for guitar repair, perfect item.

I purchased this saw a few months back. I wanted a saw with a thin kerf for making hand cut dovetails. This saw works great, leaves a nice thin kerf and makes for simple and quick clean up of the joint after sawing.
